it's a japanese restaurant near central. there are always people waiting outside. to secure a seat i recommend to arrive early before 5.30pm

we four ordered [wagyu sukiyaki course], which comes in a big hotpot, and waiter cooked it for us. the meat was cut in pieces and was thick. the soup tasted a bit sweet, especially when the water had boiled up and there was less water in the pot.

[update 20 jun 2018]
this time we tried {wagyu snow hot pot $55}. the soup is like milk but is thicker. it'll become flat at the end when you are about to finish. wagyu is again very good.

{pork fried udon $14.8} tastes a bit sour. it's suitable for one person only. not ideal for sharing.

definitely come here early to avoid the wait (before 6pm)!! the line just shows how popular they are though, they’ve got everything from sashimi to hot pot 🍣🍱🍤🍶🥩
the staff are super friendly, they kept apologising for the wait, but once you order they’re pretty quick with bringing the food out, since a lot of the menu like sashimi and hot pot are raw.
their location is so convenient too i pass by them everyday going home so i will definitely go back 👍🏻

freshest and best quality sashimi and beef i’ve had at a casual japanese restaurant. it is a little on the pricey end but you get what you pay for especially when it comes to seafood. make sure to get there early or you’ll be waiting a long time.

definitely one of the best japanese place in town! the soy milk wagyu beef port and seafood port are the must-try! the only down side could be: if you are not there by the time they open, long queue alert

waitress wouldn't let us order rice with our hot pot? very strange. she presumed to know what we should order, and advised that we would likely be too full after entrees to want any rice. i insisted that i was quite sure i wanted a bowl of rice with the hot pot, however she refused once again to accept my order, and told me i must order the rice later. very odd and controlling and patronising service last night. i have been to this restaurant many times before and have never had any issues with ordering rice before?! some constructive criticism - let your patrons order what they wish instead of having the arrogance to presume that you know better than them. thanks.

went there for a quick dinner last night around 9pm. the service is alright, i ordered the mix seafood don. the salmon is not fresh and u can taste a bit weird, the sea urchin is stinks. the rice is hard to chew. i can't believe i paid $25 for the horrible dinner. will never go back again.

this place is always busy with a line outside. went at 12 today and they were already packed. after a 20 min wait we were seated and the waitress very politely checked that we weren't in a hurry. the lunch sets have good variety and the sashimi were fresh. definitely will come back

on several of the trips that i had taken with iron fist to sydney, sometimes we have stayed in the metro hotel, which overlooks campbell street. every time we go, i look down from the hotel room to see considerable crowds at masuya suisan downstairs and make a note that i ought to try it, but as always, i had already made a booking of some sort and we never got the chance. so this time when i went with queen v, i made a point to go and try it out (sorry, iron fist, i'll have to go with you some other time ;).

not suited for regular japanese diners. salmon sashimi was not defrosted properly so on top of lacking flavour, texture was not that great. all in all, it's interesting how you can be busy serving crap.

it said ‘byow’ but it wasn’t byow. we believe it’s byow. that’s why we were booking. they didn’t any take responsibility. they just said ‘we are not byow’.

my friend and i came 15 minutes before the restaurant opened and there was already a line of people queuing at the door. this really raised my expectations.

we ordered the sashimi bowl, the sashimi platter for 2 and the wagyu udon stir fry.
the sashimi was not very fresh and the same goes to the sushi that we ate. the udon was okay; it was too sweet for my liking. overall, i was somewhat disappointed with the quality of the food, considering the length of the queue.

on the other hand, the service provided was impeccable. the staff were very friendly and they were quick to respond to our requests.

despite my disappointing experience, i would return because there are so many dishes that i didn't get the chance to try. this includes their hotpot and other izakaya food. maybe i would have a better experience with these other items.

friendly and enthusiastic service, sushi was delicious, well presented and fresh. prices weren't too exorbitant, will definitely go and try the sukiyaki next time 😄 go early to write your name down on the list if you have a big group because there was quite a long line.
