we ordered a half slab ofribsand half a smoked chicken. their sides are standard fries and slaw and not much to write home about. the meat was very good. nice smoke line and fall off the bone. the sauce was the winner. after eating sauce all over this great nation i can say with absolute certainty that marlowe’s was the best tomato bbq sauce i have ever eaten. it was spicy and sweet and tangy. it has a nice tomato flavor but good seasoning too. it is perfectly rounded.

marlowe’s restaurant and pig trailer are right on elvis presley blvd, just down the street from graceland. the photos here were taken from an old crappy cell phone camera about six or seven years ago. check back in the future for a full review. in short, the only thing i liked about theribswas the sauce. if you’d like to read more about it sooner, comment to let me know. until then, don’t miss my quick-fire guide below. also check out full reviews and quick-fire guides of other bbq restaurants from my bbq guide.

amazing!!. this was bar-none the best barbeque experience i've ever had. the food was plentiful, i had to take home half. the meat was tender and juicy, and the sides were fantastic. i had the beef brisket, pulled pork, beans, cole slaw and corn fritters and the wife had the chicken andribs(same sides). we split them and i can honestly say that every item was simply top-notch. what's more, the service was friendly and kind and the atmosphere was refreshing. forget graceland, this restaurant is a must-visit if you happen to be within a 100 mile radius. just kidding about the forget graceland, but make this a stop while here. enjoy!

wow! this place was great. starting from the moment we walked in. very friendly staff and we also had a great waitress. she was friendly and attentive. the parking lot was packed and so was the restaurant but no waiting for a table. now the food, we ordered a combo three meats and three sides. it was enough for at least four people! and boy was it great! theribswere smoky and fell off the bone, the brisket was tender and the pulled pork was tasty as well. we were visiting memphis from texas and i have to say it was better than some bbq that i have eaten in texas!

great ribs. ate at marlowe's a few nights after eating at cvr downtown. found marlowe'sribsto be much more to our liking. theribswere very meaty, had great smoked flavor, and were not slathered in extra rub or sauce. the two of us shared a rack ofribsand 4 sides ($23) and could not finish it all. the beans, okra, and mushroom sides were good. the coleslaw was mediocre at best. we'll be back!

marlowe'sribsis very smart because they cater to the tourists. they will pick up guests at their hotel or campground in a pink limo and drive them to the restaurant. we saw that pink limo at our campground many times. we decided to drive ourselves to marlowe's on jeff's birthday. the restaurant is decorated with elvis items. there are televisions that play his concerts. i loved this painting.  it is by thomas kincaid. this is our table.  it was covered in elvis photos.  we started our meal with an appetizer.  it was the combination platter.  it consists of fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, corn fritters, and chicken tenders.  the appetizer was good.  i am not a fan of fried green tomatoes.  i ordered a half slab ofribssince they are known for their bbq.  my sides were coleslaw and fries.  the bread was really good.  it is fried.  the coleslaw was creamy. the fries were good.  the ribs, i did not care for at all.  they definitely had a smokey taste, but i didn't care for the text

not even worthy of an honorable mention.... eating the food here makes me wonder if the show diners drive ins and dives is just an advertising mechanism... i mean, i like to watch guy run through the restaurants, and i think you notice some keys when he really likes a place, but i just dont think its going to get a horrible review. i mean you might think it gets cut or whatever, but do you think it would happen after the crew rolls out to a new place, sets up the film crew and then the place is just a dud that we are going to hear him say that ? i haven't seen that happen , where guy says, uh no, this is really not very good... so i came here after googling the place and finding out the scoop or purported scoop. and i can tell you that i can make better bbqribsthan this place. service was nice and the catfish my at the time vegetarian son got was better than the ribs. portions were good all the way around, but who wants good portions of sub par food ? i am not going back. i am curious about corkys and rendezvous... but i hear that locals tend to favor the likes of a & r... oh well, can't win them all...

way less than the hype.... saw a feature on "drive-in, diners & dives." was in from the new orleans area. the pulled pork was tough (like it had been sitting out quite a while). the "baked" macaroni should have been called "soup" macaroni because it was floating in cheese...can't believe that it came anywhere near an oven. the onion rings were dripping grease. the breast of the chicken was tough...not juicy or tender. theribshad some sort of "off" taste. the bar-b-q sauce was just slopped on...i prefer that it be cooked on. stay away from the bathrooms...disgusting sums them up. the brisket was excellent, so were the corn nuggets & baked beans. would not return.
