marlowe’s restaurant and pig trailer are right onelvispresley blvd, just down the street from graceland. the photos here were taken from an old crappy cell phone camera about six or seven years ago. check back in the future for a full review. in short, the only thing i liked about the ribs was the sauce. if you’d like to read more about it sooner, comment to let me know. until then, don’t miss my quick-fire guide below. also check out full reviews and quick-fire guides of other bbq restaurants from my bbq guide.

first timer out of towners. love the decor andelvis🕺 history. food was great and food value.

had the fried green tomatoes to start. big and thick and really good. my wife had theelvisburger and said it was great.

sure was more meat than the dyers burger that she didn’t enjoy a couple days ago. had the ribs and they were very good. well with the visit.

bbq combo. had the brisket and the pulled pork / very moist and seasoned well / needed
to get extra sauce though i like mine covered and while not the best their bbq
is really good. the wait staff is really nice the big draw back for me is the constantelvismusic , not a fan , but this is the land ofelvisand the wife
and daughter like him and their food.

marlowe’s succeeds in that it puts the food before the fact that it located only minutes from graceland. sure, you are inundated with all thingselvisincluding a pink limo, but the commitment to good food is evident, highlighted by the very impressive smoker which “graces” the busy interior. the smoked meats were delicious even though they were heavily sauced in the traditional memphis “wet” style. like i mentioned, the b-sides made for good eating as well.

very average. i've eaten in practically every bbq restaurant in memphis and i was very unimpressed with my visit to marlowe's. the place itself is in a prime location (near graceland) for the droves ofelvisfans. inside, the place is worn and outdated, but worse yet, just plain dirty. it could stand to have a deep clean & disinfect and then an update - especially the worn, sticky tables and chairs. i had the brisket and pulled pork. it is expensive, but you get a ton of meat (you could definitely split with someone). however, big portions weren't a score because this cue is simply average at best. the meat itself was dry. it is served to you with their sauce dumped on top of the meat. not wild about their sauce - tasted like very tangy ketchup. coleslaw was flavorless, baked beans were marginal. too many better bbq options in memphis.

marlowe's ribs is very smart because they cater to the tourists. they will pick up guests at their hotel or campground in a pink limo and drive them to the restaurant. we saw that pink limo at our campground many times. we decided to drive ourselves to marlowe's on jeff's birthday. the restaurant is decorated withelvisitems. there are televisions that play his concerts. i loved this painting.  it is by thomas kincaid. this is our table.  it was covered inelvisphotos.  we started our meal with an appetizer.  it was the combination platter.  it consists of fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, corn fritters, and chicken tenders.  the appetizer was good.  i am not a fan of fried green tomatoes.  i ordered a half slab of ribs since they are known for their bbq.  my sides were coleslaw and fries.  the bread was really good.  it is fried.  the coleslaw was creamy. the fries were good.  the ribs, i did not care for at all.  they definitely had a smokey taste, but i didn't care for the text

great tourist restaurant!. i went there march '09 on a weekend trip with some friends to see graceland. we were on a budget, but wanted to have one good meal at a bbq restaurant while we were in memphis.
great service! we called ahead and they had their pink cadillac pick us up to and from our hotel, free of charge!! (we tipped the driver, of course). the service and atmosphere was fun, elvisartifacts everywhere, including in the table. great food! we had fun!

great place. this might be a sleeper... for all that you hear about other memphis restaurants i never hear much about marlowe's (i'm from out of state though). friends recommended marlowe's (across from graceland) and said they had the best ribs in memphis. they weren't kidding. they have great bbq (pork and ribs) and the fried catfish is awesome. great sides too. love theelvisdecor!

unexpected monday night trip downtown resulted in a good reason to go to marlowes. it was still busy from theelvisweek festivities, but our server was able to present our barbecue sandwich and barbecue baked potato fairly quickly. the sauce is good - sweet with a little bite. we both enjoyed the food and even the ancientelvisdecor.
