elvis burger...(kidapproved). my family and i decided on marlowes for my bday dinner and it was awesome. my 11 yr old fell in love with the elvis burger and overall the kids loved the elvis everything. i chose bbq combo 2 n the ribs were sooooo good and meaty. the pulled pork was enough to pile on two huge buns....our sever brittany b was awesome. we're planning to return soon.

very average. i've eaten in practically every bbq restaurant in memphis and i was very unimpressed with my visit to marlowe's. the place itself is in a prime location (near graceland) for the droves of elvis fans. inside, the place is worn and outdated, but worse yet, just plain dirty. it could stand to have a deep clean & disinfect and then an update - especially the worn, sticky tables and chairs. i had the brisket and pulled pork. it is expensive, but you get a ton of meat (you could definitely split with someone). however, big portions weren't a score because this cue is simply average at best. the meat itself was dry. it is served to you with their sauce dumped on top of the meat. not wild about their sauce - tasted like very tangy ketchup. coleslaw was flavorless, baked beans were marginal. too many better bbq options in memphis.

marlowe's ribs is very smart because they cater to the tourists. they will pick up guests at their hotel or campground in a pink limo and drive them to the restaurant. we saw that pink limo at our campground many times. we decided to drive ourselves to marlowe's on jeff's birthday. the restaurant is decorated with elvis items. there are televisions that play his concerts. i loved this painting.  it is by thomas kincaid. this is our table.  it was covered in elvis photos.  we started our meal with an appetizer.  it was the combination platter.  it consists of fried green tomatoes, fried pickles, corn fritters, and chicken tenders.  the appetizer was good.  i am not a fan of fried green tomatoes.  i ordered a half slab of ribs since they are known for their bbq.  my sides were coleslaw and fries.  the bread was really good.  it is fried.  the coleslaw was creamy. the fries were good.  the ribs, i did not care for at all.  they definitely had a smokey taste, but i didn't care for the text

good. the pulled pork sandwich was good. the bbq'ed beef brisket was excellent. the sides ( cole slaw and baked beans) were average. a good meal overall, but there are better to be had in this bbq mecca.

the restaurant's interior is just as visually stimulating as its exterior. there are several dining rooms, a bar (with the largest bar stools i've ever seen) and a gift shop. there are tons of christmas lights, pigs everywhere and the walls (at least in the bar) are decorated with a random assortement of what-have-you.

what's with the homemade banana pudding?. had some delicious ribs and sub par service at the bar, but what is up with the banana pudding. it needs to be revamped. it tasted and looked like baby food. i was disappointed.

in fact, when i asked my server about the pink limousines in front of the restaurant she said they offer free rides to and from any hotel around graceland or the airport to anyone who wants to come to eat and drink.

not even worthy of an honorable mention.... eating the food here makes me wonder if the show diners drive ins and dives is just an advertising mechanism... i mean, i like to watch guy run through the restaurants, and i think you notice some keys when he really likes a place, but i just dont think its going to get a horrible review. i mean you might think it gets cut or whatever, but do you think it would happen after the crew rolls out to a new place, sets up the film crew and then the place is just a dud that we are going to hear him say that ? i haven't seen that happen , where guy says, uh no, this is really not very good... so i came here after googling the place and finding out the scoop or purported scoop. and i can tell you that i can make better bbq ribs than this place. service was nice and the catfish my at the time vegetarian son got was better than the ribs. portions were good all the way around, but who wants good portions of sub par food ? i am not going back. i am curious about corkys and rendezvous... but i hear that locals tend to favor the likes of a & r... oh well, can't win them all...

great tourist restaurant!. i went there march '09 on a weekend trip with some friends to see graceland. we were on a budget, but wanted to have one good meal at a bbq restaurant while we were in memphis.
great service! we called ahead and they had their pink cadillac pick us up to and from our hotel, free of charge!! (we tipped the driver, of course). the service and atmosphere was fun, elvis artifacts everywhere, including in the table. great food! we had fun!

all hype. delajode hit it spot on! staff was very friendly but the food was disappointing. i didn't realize guy hit this place up until after we got there. i sat down and expected decadence but got despondence. the bbq was mediocre. i wasn't bad, just not national television good. the banana pudding was great though (but how can you muck that up). if you're looking for memphis bbq look elsewhere..unless you love elvis. actually, still look elsewhere, just hit up graceland on your way through.
