the staff here are very friendly and therestauranthas a pretty cool rooftop patio that’s great for people watching on 14th st.
now for the sushi... not great. lobster sushi is actually a very peppery lobster salad mix. geisha roll was ok but too much mayonnaise. the sashimi was average as it didn’t taste super fresh. i must say that my biggest disappointment was the beef tataki 😒 the beef itself was done nicely but then covered in a sauce that i found to be quite flavourless with lettuce on top and roasted garlic chips everywhere. it was a bizarre combo that just didn’t work for me.
decent prices here but i am not a fan.

we had been to thisrestaurantbefore and had a great time. so, we thought why not go back and enjoy some delicious sushi.

the chef's choice sashimi and sushi were lovely. part way through our oysters, i thought they smelt bad. i inquired and he assured me, that no, he did not. then i thought , since our table was near the bathroom, that the putrid smell must have come from the man who had spent the last 15 minutes in the washroom. alas, it was the oyster! they served us rotten, putrid oysters.

when we voiced our concerns, the smelly oysters were taken off the bill, but she did not think to remove the other oysters for which we had definitely lost our appetite. even the non-smelly oysters tasted lifeless and frozen, even bitter. she did not apologize or make us feel like she was concerned with her serving rotten, raw shellfish. we ended up paying 90.00 for a disappointing meal and a role of the dice with food poisoning.

we will not return, and rest assured ke, should i get food poisoning i will come and defecate on your front step.

determined to try a newrestauranteach time i go out, i decided to take my hubby here or dinner tonight. service was friendly and our food came out fast. mainly specializing in yakitori skewers, charcoal and stone grills, they also offer some special rolls and sushi/sashimi. i would say one of my fav was the miso black cod. there was a variety of different skewers and you can try a bunch for couple bucks each. we also really liked the spicy crunch roll and the lobster sushi. definitely will be coming back to this place and recommend it!

this was the worst sushirestauranti have ever tried. the oshi sushi fell apart when my chopsticks touched it, the flavor was awful and the texture was old and chewy. the steak we ordered was over cooked and wasn't edible, when i asked them to remake it the manager had the odacity to bring it back to my table and tell me nothing was wrong with it and they only cooked steak one way - well done. the service was awful, the food terrible. i would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. please do not eat here. ever!!!!

so gabby and i have been talking about going for sushi for a couple of days, but we were a bit hesitant about trying out the gigantic windowless white box across the street. turns out you shouldn't judge a book by its cover!!
for dinner we had prosecco, oysters, chefs special s & s, some salad with with marinated sashimi, microgreens and taco chips, and i think something else but i can't remember what... it was all really good.

we did not order the lamb chop or the lamb chops because because they each cost $8 and i thought that was kind of a suspicious price. fortunately, i saw that the boys at the table next to us (who are moving to thailand) were eating lamb chop (lamb chops?). i said, hey dudes, how are the $8 lamb chop (lamb chops?). they were like great, can we buy you girls some?? we replied, sure.
anyways, soon the stereo started playing this great new song, which turned out to be the fire alarm. that did not stop everybody in the (packed)restaurantfrom singing along and dancing.
as we were enjoying our dessert of more prosecco and more oysters, several firemen marched in and checked out the kitchen. our bill was presented with an apology (and probably like us you're asking for what??). they then gave us an unopened package of bread sticks with icing on them, 10% off our bill, and a coupon for 10% off our next bill.
as we left, gabby and i agreed that this would be where we would eat dinner every night for the rest of our lives.

i think my experience for thisrestaurantwas mixed, just like the focus of the food from this place. overall it was decent, the decor was interesting mix of chinese and japanese themed.

the stone grill was kinda a knockoff of grizzly house in banff, not as flavourful, the pressed sushi fell apart, normally a gelatin is used but they just put liquid sauce, causing the rice to fall apart. the chicken and beef charcoal grill was ok, portion and value was decent but the only good taste was the sesame sauce it came with.

i enjoyed the deep fried mochi, but if a thicker teriyaki sauce was used would definitely taste better, masking the taste of unsettled deep fryer oil.

i think they also do other dishes but i think there's no theme or direction with the restaurant, especially when siracha bottles are part of the decor.

the entrance is hard to spot and parking was difficult to locate. overall if i was to go back... i'd probably not go back as just like all the chinese take out places, this place is trying to cover too many dishes, and feed you by volume, for a higher price.

we've been waiting for thisrestaurantto open since last year! first time trying it and it was an amazing experience. when you get inside the restaurant, all of their staff would cheer or like welcome you. food is very delicious, we tried their steak & we did not regret it! it is grilled on top of a hot stone which i personally think is very cool. their sushi and special roll weren't only very pleasing to the eyes but also really good especially their angus beef roll! mochi was definitely my favorite, it's a sticky rice cake with soya sauce.
price of their food was reasonable because it was all worth trying. my boyfriend and i went crazy on the menu!
overall experience was really great! their staffs were very cheerful and super friendly! i highly recommend it & we will definitely be back.

great restaurant!!  i was waiting for this place to open with eager anticipation as their exterior looked like they paid attention to detail.  i took my wife and a group of friends here to celebrate her birthday dinner this past weekend.  lively place, very attentive staff, great and very reasonably priced gourmet food.  the interior was very nicely designed, with an open kitchen and an overall great atmosphere.  the staff are all dressed in yellow hats with rugby like jerseys complete with player numbers, representing theirrestaurantteam.  the gentleman at the back with the red hat is terry ke, who i presume is the owner and head chef.  aside from our regular server, the manager (rey) spent time to introduce us to therestaurantand the menu, which sake to pair with which dishes and just took a lot of extra good care of us.  we had a group of 6 with one vegetarian so she hand picked our entire dinner, which included a wide assortment of deliciousness including charcoal grilled and seafood/sushi/sashimi.  she picked perfectly, not too little and not too much.  they also sent over a complimentary dish for us to enjoy.  i wish i remembered everything that we ordered, to better describe everything we had in this review.  however, all of the food were superb, as was the level of service and attention from their team.  everyone in our group remarked that they will be back, to this excellent restaurant.
