good tex-mex. if you go, order the around the table sampler (requires three people with everyone at the table participating). the tamales taste homemade. the different salsas are the highlight of this place.

mediocre "tex-mex". their chips were soggy and hardly eatable as it seemed like they were setting out for awhile. would have been better off just serving tostitos chips. overall it seems more tex-mex then actually mexican, nothing seemed authentic in the slightest . the only saving grace was the atmosphere, which was what i seemed to be paying for as opposed to a decent priced wholesome meal.

first and foremost i would like to state the obvious, yes it is cinco de mayo. my boyfriend and i went about 140ish and asked for the patio. we were informed that it would be about 20 minutes, which we were fine with. after waiting close to 40 and the only people still waiting to be sat, and roughly about 4-5 tables open on the patio a female server asked what we were waiting for and if we had received a text. we informed her no, and the patio and she promptly sat us. the wait i can understand. but the service and food from there was easily the worst i've received, on both ends. our server, kristan z. took our drink order, 2 waters and 2 margarita's on the rocks. after about 10 minutes we had received neither. our server asked if we were ready to order, i suppose realizing at that point that we had no drinks and went to get our waters. asked again and we asked for salsa. we were informed that someone else would be bringing it. after about another ten minutes we had to ask again and for our margarita's, our server brought both. we ordered, my order being classic nachos with beef added and my boyfriend ordered the full size quesadilla with no sour cream. my nachos, while not lacking in chips was missing just about everything that the menu stated it was suppose to have. my boyfriend's entree came out as the half portion, with sour cream. i asked for flour tortillas and received corn, which were uncooked. my drink sat empty until the end of our meal before i was asked if i wanted another one. i understand at this point it's just complaining, but the lack of attention to detail was so far off i wish we had honestly ventured somewhere else. i didn't ask for a manager, which is my own fault. i had already witnessed a group complaining when we arrived and didn't want to add to that. i've had good food from here before, maybe the nachos just aren't the right pick. and spending the extra money on adding meat def isn't worth it.

repeat customer. i've visited iguana grill numerous times and intend to continue to do so. the food is good and consistent. they have many options for me as a vegetarian and are always accommodating when i ask for a little menu item tweaking.

by favorite spot for mexican, more authentic and affordable than ted's, it's the better choice. the chocolate chimis are worth the trip alone

i guess i've given this place all the chances. they say the menu has been revamped, but i noticed nothing different. overpriced and boring is my best description.

realistic expectations. come on yuppies, let's tell the truth, the food is just ok. and the prices are too high for the quality of food you get there. and when they ask if you want queso, there is a $4.50 charge they don't mention for (velvita and rotel). the only reason it's so popular is it's location and the fact that some people don't know what good mexican food is.

the citrus habanero rocked!!!

-----11 may, 2011-----

my husband, our 2 chihuahuas(tank&tini) and myself ate here today. we are texans doing biz in midtown ok city. found this place and picked it because they had patio dining. we always ask first if our "kids" are welcome on the patio, not only did they say ok, they asked if they would like a bowl of water. our server was phenom. suggested some dishes which were fantastico! quick service, very accomodating staff! loved loved loved the whole vibe. decor, location, coolness, food choices, food quality all stupendous! please try the citrus habanero salsa, queso and definitely save room for the dark chocolate chimichunga!!! omg! we have to go back fri and will be eating lunch there again! ole!

great little place near automobile alley in downtown okc.  the jalapeno cornbread is awesome, the chips and salsa are very good and try the cilantro rice for something different.  this is not your standard tex-mex restaurant, i think it has a slight new mexico spin to it!  also the swirl margarita's are the best!!!

taco tuesday!. i've only gone on taco tuesday, and just for their taco deal. starting 4 pm, they sell mini tacos (chicken, beef or tilapia) for a $1. if you order more than one, they come with a lemon and a lime, and trust me, you'll want to order more than one. chicken and tilapia taste very similar, but i'm just a bigger fan of fish tacos in general. the chicken and tilapia are very wet tacos but they taste great! i didn't try the beef (which was considerably less wet) but my friends gave rave reviews.

the indoor tables are very crowded. being a teenager, i was a little annoyed by a group of loud, middle-aged teachers gossiping and getting drunk at 4 pm. their table was directly next to ours which bothered me because there were may empty tables away from them at the time. the wait staff seems to be a little disorganized but my waiter ended up being very nice and checked up on my table often. the rest of the menu seemed to be expensive and as a student, i didn't have the money for it. still, be sure to come after 4 pm on tuesdays because this deal is too good to be missed (and bring your keep it local card too!).

coral snake margaritas!!. a friend and i wandered in after sushi at their neighbor's, pachinko parlor. we had wanted to check out iguana since our recent move to okc, and were not left disappointed. we had a great time at the bar, the bartender was very engaging with our questions about different bottles of tequila and had a lot of information about tequila for us. we tried the coral snake margarita, and like their salsa it was incredible. habenero and apricot, it was the perfect marriage of spicy and sweet. i could have one any time. soon, i'll get to try their food, but for now i'm satisfied with the bar.

downtown? iguana's a must. i love what robert painter has done here with both the menu and the decor.

i'm especially fond of the green rice and (smiling) the coral snake salsa.

don't go expecting authentic mexicana, no, but (by the same token) don't go expecting tex-mex, variation #3,678,924. no, this is gussied up fusion stuff, with a heavy emphasis on bright, tropical flavors.

excellent bar area, btw.

my only complaint? the parking and seating areas. i'm not saying one can have too much success, but i am saying that parking here can be nightmarish, and seating (especially insofar as large parties are concerned) is often difficult. this isn't a restaurant for the agoraphobe, either -- do go expecting large crowds and closely gathered tables.

all in all, a great choice for the downtown diner.

great twist on classic dishes - fun atmosphere!. i love the coconut bbq chicken - my fav from here. everything on the menu is great- the salsa is fresh. i like meeting friends for dinner here or taking my family.
parking is a little difficult and there are sometimes a 40 min wait time - my only complaint.
