just finishd eating here and the front room was so cold, i couldn't enjoy anything. not that there was much to enjoy. the chili rellenos had a spongy texture to them with absolutely no meat in them. not appetizing at all. the green rice was flavorless until i put queso on it. found everything to be rather tastless. sorry but i will not be eating here again.

no, you're not. please remove "kid friendly" from your features.

wanted to like, two strikes. i like the midtown revival and iguana is a place i want to like, but the service is too off-putting. last two times i've been, have been uncomfortable and i left with a bad taste in my mouth.

once, with my young son, the table prep kid came over and practically threw the silverware set ups at us and just looked really hostile - not a good start. i wondered what the heck did we do, or do i remind this kid of someone he hates?

the other time, i sat in the bar area with my baby boomer parents and had no choice (other than to leave) but to overhear some off duty employees acting like donkeys and cursing harshly at the bar. my mom, and other ladies don't want to hear this, you ridiculous jackasses.

this place needs some leadership, some class and some help hiring people. when i dine out, i tend to value the service over the food in some cases. in these cases, the food didn't matter because the experience had already been ruined. i won't make plans to return.

the atmosphere is nice, service is good, but the food is lacking. the queso was some of the best i've ever had but everything else was very disappointing. meats were dry and tasteless, beans and rice had absolutely no flavor. they could really improve their dishes with a just a little tlc & or seasoning. for the price i would expect it to taste much better! :(

good atmosphere, and if you are a fan of cilantro, there's no reason not to eat there. but if you are not a fan of cilantro, avoid at all costs. you cannot even ask for it to be made without cilantro. they won't do it.

don't try to outsmart them by ordering something that usually doesn't have cilantro, because here it does. even the queso has cilantro thrown in, amigos.

we now refer to it as the cilantro lounge. and we won't be back.

this used to be one of my fave places to eat. we went on tuesday, september 3 for dinner. the green rice and white beams i usually get with my meal were utterly bland and tasteless. a couple of us got the "smoked" tilapia fish tacos - absolutely flavorless. even the salsa was terrible. no one (out of 7 of us) finished our food. utter lack of seasoning and blah sauces. terribly disappointing.

iguana feels like a totally different restaurant lately. it used to be a really great local place to get awesome food that was made with high quality ingredients. everything has changed- prices are higher, quality is way, way lower. like taco bueno low.

the most disappointing thing is that iguana was the spark that ignited midtown okc. this was the restaurant that drew a lot of people to the area and started 9th st.

i won't ever come back to iguana- the food isn't worth eating, especially at the prices they charge. if you are in the mood for mexican in midtown, go to 1492. hate to say it, but iguana just isn't the same

lots of problems here. first impression? great atmosphere- this place is pretty neat. i want to like the food too, but too many problems. first- chips and salsa? weak. super greasy, super stale, and the salsa is tomatoes and onions...absolutely no flavor. the rest of the food was the same - not awful, but very bland and absolutely not worth the calories. it was a frustrating meal because i was expecting a classier "mexican grill" rather than a bland ok mex with more vegetables. this meal + 1 drink and tip(no appetizer or dessert) was $20 per person- you can do way better for that cash. if the price were about $5-8 lower per person, this might be a fun place to hang and eat casually. maybe it had more to do with the weak margaritas- i don't think there was tequila in mine. either way, i was not drunk enough to enjoy anything other than the art on the wall. don't bother - there's better food to be had in the area.

fresh. the blt salad i ordered was full of fresh produce and topped with very decent grilled shrimp. pricey for the portion, but good flavors.

it was really clean and the service was very friendly. one thing i thought was pretty neat (or i'm behind on the times and just have never seen this), was instead of giving you one of the buzzer things that goes off when your table is ready, they send you a text message. and it allowed us to visit this quaint little shop next door.
