downtown? iguana's a must. i love what robert painter has done here with both the menu and the decor.
i'm especially fond of the green rice and (smiling) the coral snake salsa.
don't go expecting authentic mexicana, no, but (by the same token) don't go expecting tex-mex, variation #3,678,924. no, this is gussied up fusion stuff, with a heavy emphasis on bright, tropical flavors.
excellent bar area, btw.
my only complaint? the parking and seating areas. i'm not saying one can have too much success, but i am saying that parking here can be nightmarish, and seating (especially insofar as large parties are concerned) is often difficult. this isn't a restaurant for the agoraphobe, either -- do go expecting large crowds and closely gathered tables.
all in all, agreatchoice for the downtown diner.
