unusually good. if you are looking for a "hog sloppin'" mexican restaurant, this is not your place. you won't get seconds when you raise a flag and the menu doesn't have "gorditas". you will find fresh southwestern dishes at a reasonable price and great service.

hits: we have had chicken, pork and beef enchiladas in the times we have visited. we have also had the grilled shrimp on the lunch menu.they were all phenomenal! the sides (red or green rice, etc.) are super! your water or tea glass will never go dry and its usually easy to get in/out during non-peak times.

misses: the coconut-flavored soup with abundant onions is not worth the price, but it is an unusual taste. the queso is a little on the "velveeta" side; well, it's a lot on the velveeta side. more body art in this place than at a red hot chili peppers concert...somebody buy these kids some long-sleeved t-shirts! due to the restaurants configuration, noon and dinner can be a little cramped and really noisy.

sara sara cupcakes is just to the east. they may be the tastiest, most expensive, most wonderful cupcakes ever!

you gotta try both of these places, which are located just east of automobile alley

the perfect margaritas are awesome! the pitchers will run you about 30 bucks, so go to their happy hour. the layered dip is awesome, and so is the green rice. this is a cool, funky little place with character.

pretty good food. it's just not great. i love the location - taking an old building and turning it into something special. the patio is a terrific place to enjoy their nicely varied salsa sampler, although the free house salsa is my favorite. i got the corn soup (sopa de maiz) that i'm pretty confident was made with coconut milk and pablano peppers. just for fun, the railroad track is right there!!and adds so much atmosphere - lol!
other dishes are just as good, just not great.

good, not great. fun place, great staff.... went with the whole fam. two of them are under 6 years of age, so keep that in mind. it's probably a blast for drinks and dinner with friends. don't get me wrong, the staff was great with the kiddos and their food was very good. it's just a bit more of a grown up's place.

the salsa sampler was pretty good. i remember it being better back in the old days, but still good.

my chile relleno was very good. one chicken, one 4 cheese. nicely battered and fried. excellent sauces to go with (underneath, actually). the green rice (cilantro-ish) was surprisingly good. i looked at it when it came out and didn't think i'd like it. the green beans were terrible. don't know if it was a bad batch or what, but my wife agreed.

she got the fish tacos and they looked very unspectacular. turns out, that's exactly what they were. not bad, just not very good.

the kids split chicken fingers (very good) and a cheese quesadilla (cheese and tortilla, coulda done it at home). had fries and some good fruit with it.

overall, some good stuff, some really good stuff and some mediocre stuff. would go back for sure, but at the prices they are charging, i won't hurry.

fresh mexican food!. the iguana mexican grill is one of those special places where i can sit back, relax and not have to make any more decisions for the day. i leave my order in the trusted hands of the wait staff and the wonderful sous chef, lee bennett.

my entree consisted of pot roast tender fajita steak accompanied with grilled & sauted onions, sweet bell peppers and tender carrots. the side dish of rice was flavorfull and i topped it with their unique salsa which had a slightly dominate cilantro flavor! yummies!!

the best. while my wife and i are great fans of ted's and tarahumara's in norman, i personally think there are no finer mexican entres than those found at the iguana! the flavorings are very subtle and something i have never found before in a mexican restaurant. (my favorite is the chimichanga with double green rice and extra sour cream sauce.)

be sure to beat the rush!. we went for lunch and we went about 11am. we beat the rush that came in about 11:30. the food was great, the queso is awesome. the music was a bit off for a mexican restaurant but that doesn't bother me.

awesome original salsas. ask for the salsa sampler. it's great to get away from the typical tomato based salsas. drinks are liquored up, so enjoy.

every so often, all of our regular writers try to get together to experience a new oklahoma city restaurant. i say that we “try” because so far, we haven’t quite made it. we were just about to accomplish this feat at the new iguana mexican grill downtown,
