iguana mexican grill

great food & great patio. i love eating on patios, and iguana over on 9th has been adding to theirs recently and i love it! the food is full of flavor and good portions. i particularly like their pena vaca grilled fajita steak with oak leaf, pineapple-cider vinaigrette, and topped with pico de gallo, pineapple relish , radish, and queso fresco and their fish tacos always hit the spot. laid back, great food, and service has always been stellar. check it out!

so sad. this has been a favorite of my family since they were on western. every time people came into town, i'd take them to iguana. i love the 9th st. location. but the last 4 times i have been in, the food has been terrible and the service worse. i was so embarrassed when my guest and i waited 25 minutes to get our order taken at lunch. 25 minutes. then the food arrived cold, and our waiter never refilled our empty glasses. my previous three trips were similar offenses - cold tasteless dishes, terrible service. it really takes a lot for me to complain, especially against a place i have loved for so long. but they need to take a long look at how their food is being presented, and by whom. this place is just awful lately.

waitress from hell. i enjoy iguana, the ambience, the food. i've had good wait staff, some ok, and then there is j.... c (the name on our ticket). she has waited on us twice. the first time i thought she was just having a bad day. food didn't all arrive as ordered and she was rude when we pointed it out. but we still left a tip. today she was rude and had a bad attitude from the beginning. we ordered guac and it never arrived. she noted toward the end of our meal that we hadn't gotten it and asked if we still wanted it. we said no. no apology from j. i ordered a salad and asked for dressing on the side. it arrived without any. she said she'd get it. she proceeded to wait on another table and help clear another and then when i asked about my dressing she said, in a dismissive rude way, that she was going to get it, but just hadn't been back to the kitchen yet. really? the rest of my party had eaten half their meal by the time i got my dressing. my husband insisted on tipping her 15%, which is the low end of what we usually tip. i, for maybe the second time in my life, wanted to leave nothing. next time we eat there if she is our waitress i'll either leave or ask for another section. j... c., please get some customer service training and a better attitude or just choose a profession where you deal with machines, not people.

catsteak and pleather. iguana used to be at a different location prior to their current one. i think that when they moved, it was for the worse. in my opinion, the food used to be good and fairly original. but, those days for iguana are long gone. the new building they have is pretty cool, but i usually go to a restaurant for the food rather than the aesthetics of the building. the food here has sadly become boring, corporate, and predictable. the last several times i have been to iguana i was disappointed. fish tacos were the last dish i had at iguana at it was not good. the fish in the tacos was gross and not fresh.

took a friend from out of state for lunch today. he had the enchilada special and i the queso fondido. everything was delicious. waitress was very attentive and we even met the chef. will absolutely return.

good basic mexican. we went on saturday night and were able to get right in at 6pm. the atmosphere was nice and not too loud. i had the chicken enchiladas and they were great. the sour cream sauce really made the dish. my husband tried the crab tacos and thought they were pretty good as well. another plus is that they are serving $4 sangria through the summer. i had the mango-pineapple sangria and it was a refreshing summer drink. i'd definitely go back.

wouldn't call it midtown. but that's just me. i enjoy the queso, the snake salsa and just about everything else. i like the strawberry-lemon sangria. wait staff is always super nice.

fusion tacos????. was good until they started trying fusion tacos such as meatloaf and stroganoff.
stick with the basics and this place will rock!!

not good- cold tortillas - had fajitas - not even warm - hot sauce ? really where's the heat? overall very dissatisfied. long wait & terrible food. i am from texas and know good mexican food and texmex. this is neither one! don't go here!

amazing queso, good entrees. the standard salsa is okay, nothing to write home about, and closer to a pico de gallo with a salsa consistency. we ordered the queso (with ground beef in it) and our meal at the same time, and they arrived about the same time. our meals were good, but the queso was to die for. after we finished eating about half of our food, we went straight back for the cheese, finishing off our chips and leaving very satisfied.

taco tuesday!. me and my boyfriend go on taco tuesday every chance we get! always great - best tacos around in my opinion! and the queso and salsa are wonderful as well!!

it's okay.... iguana is okay. i think it's a tad overrated. the food is always okay, not outstanding. the place is too crowded and you never feel all that comfortable.

great brunch!. the salsa alone is worth the visit, and brunch was awesome. ask for nikita...she was hilarious! :)

get a drink and don't be in a rush.. i have enjoyed everything i've had there, but the three times i've been in the last 7 months, the service was pretty bad. the staff is nice enough, but overwhelmed and tend to make mistakes. if you aren't in a rush, then you will probably enjoy your meal though. good drinks as well.

i've been a hardcore fan of iguana since there location on western.
i loved there food at the new location on 9th and broadway until last night, utterly embarrassing to the words tex mex, terrible.
i have loved this place for so long but i will never be back, i have had better frozen dinners.
