the filet mignon is my favorite! i order it every time i'm at houston's. the spinach dip is delicious. my boyfriend absolutely loves the ribs as well. great place!

unbelievable. this is probably the best restaurant we have ever been to. service was crazy they are so efficient quick and so pleasant!! food was delicious!!! i can't wait to come back!! i think all restaurants should take note of this service and implement it in their restaurants!! thank you houston's.....amazing!!

i am always on the search for a good veggie burger.  i especially love when a restaurant makes their own meatless patties from scratch in house and use unique ingredients- and on a recent trip to houston’s i struck gold. houston’s is an upscale dining experience, though not quite “fine dining” by most standards.  the menu consists of entrees like prime rib , filet mignon and grilled salmon , however, we were there for one thing and one thing only- t he house made veggie burger .  (ok- and the kale salad - so two things.)  i visited with my mother, who told me houston’s has one of the best veggie burgers ever.  always made fresh in house, their patty is made of brown rice, black beans and oat bran.  do not mistake this for an ordinary black bean burger, this was far too tasty and delicious to be categorized as just a black bean burger. the burger is thick and sloppy- perfect.  topped with a soy glaze, melted pepper-jack cheese and garnished with lettuce, tomato,onion

enjoyed it so much , came back again before we leave.

food was awesome! have to try the grilled artichoke appetizer , unreal, and the ribeye steak wad just as awesome.
going to try to go back before vacation is up.

i've always loved houston's. even though there's always a wait, it's worth it. i eat meat but the veggie burger they have is to die for! i order it almost every time. there is something about that soy glaze that holds it all together... service is polite and attentive.

best french dip i've had in years. taylor at the bar really takes care of her customers.

probably the most consistent restaurant in nola. everything on the menu is solid & the service is fantastic. as for apps try: spinach dip, smoked salmon or fried oysters. all very tasty. the soup changes daily but tuesday nights tortilla soup & saturdays chili are the best. the french dip sandwich and hickory burger are awesome. the grilled salmon, prime rib, ribs & crab cakes are all winners for entrees. i can't say enough @ this place. just love it!

poor hospitality. hey houston's, if you want to keep a customer coming back, don't ask them to remove their cap.

disappointing. my in-laws 39th wedding anniversary is coming up and when asked where they would like to celebrate they chose houston's. they have grew up in the area and frequent houston's monthly on sundays for lunch. when we called to make a reservation the manager holly told us that she would not make a reservation for a party of 7, because the tables only hold 6 people. she went on to say that we would be at 2 tables and could not guarantee they would be near each other? so, "no" you cannot make a reservation (during the busy holiday season), you will just have to walk in and wait, and "no" you cannot sit next or near each other to celebrate????? i have heard lately many complaints from friends and family that the service at this particular houston's was not what it once was. today was a very good picture of what the general manager holly thinks hospitality is. very disappointing and we will not be returning, our immediate family is more than they will ever take a reservation for so there goes our business. i am not one to ever complain as i owned a steakhouse for 14 years, and i feel people complain all too often about things beyond the control of the restaurant, most times. however, this is completely in their control and "hospitality" should be a part of their culture.

great food and even better service. i go there every once in a while and the service is the best ever and the food is also top notch and the ribs are great like every thing else on the menu the service well all the wait staff goes around and makes sure drinks are refilled and food is perfect every body should go there

use to be my favorite!. my family and i dine at houston's about once a month. it use to be so good and service use to be so friendly. the past few visits, the service has been terrible. i feel like the servers think they are too good to serve us or something. the food also took almost 40 minutes to arrive. it's not fun with a hungry 4 year old boy. i will think about returning again. it just doesn't seem the same. we spend good money there and always have to wait for a table. they seem to like to seat us at the loud noisy crowded bar.

hubby took me for my first time ever today. i was so excited because i have heard people rave about this place. was told it was the place to go if you wanted a really good steak. i don't know what the big to do is about this place. i ordered prime rib and it was cooked well, but it was bland. why would you have fries as the side item to prime rib? these so called fries are like match sticks!not big enough to taste like potato. the only saving there was the dessert. that little happy feeling was quickly dashed when we got the check. food is not worth the prices they charge. i have had a better steak at red lobster as far as i'm concerned

hostess was rude don't waste your time. don't waste your time like we wasted ours.. had gone there for dinner which was ok...went to a movie and told melissa the waitress would be back after the movie to have dessert and coffee. came back hostess said 15 to 20 minutes...waited and waited they sat people that came in after us who they added on the list after us...after 25 minutes i asked and saw where she kept going around us. i asked and she said yes they come and go and i skip around so we gave it 10 more minutes and they did not seat us kept going around us and finally left. they were rude. don't waste your time...we went to izzy's down the street, hostess was great, service was great and the dessert was great!

changed for the worse. why?. i've been going to houston's many years, and it seems like the quality of the food has gone down. i ate at the bar and the service was good, but the food portions were smaller and the baked beans had changed.
it's disappointing that things have changed, and not for the better. i will try another houston's in order to ascertain if this has happened to other restaurants.
