my mom and i have been to houston's several times and we always love it. we made a return trip last wednesday for lunch. we each ordered drinks, the grilled brussel sprouts, and a jumbo(!) shrimp cocktail as appetizers and they were excellent. we each had the red snapper lunch special as a main course, which came with a side of succotash. my mom's fish was a little undercooked and she kindly asked for it to be brought back to the kitchen for a few more minutes of cooking and our waiter, jeremy, could not have been more accommodating. it went back immediately and in a minute or so we were visited by leo, the manager, who asked my mother if she would like to have another appetizer or a salad while she waited for her fish to return, but she did not feel it was necessary. the fish came back cooked to perfection. both meals were delicious and the fish was covered with a lemon butter sauce that was to die for. we ordered a slice key lime pie to split (which was yummy) and coffee. we were visited by leo at the end of the meal and he apologised again for the initially undercooked fish and said that he, "took care of it" in the bill. when we looked, we saw that they gave us both fish lunches for free. i expected maybe a free dessert at best, but not two free entrees! honestly, we were not even mad about the situation with the fish, especially since they took care of the problem so quickly. amazing customer service and delicious food. thank you, jeremy and leo, for a wonderful dining experience!

the best consistent food...with a limited selection on their menu...served with a smile and follow up...great ambiance. and clean ...but a bit pricy. ..

after having been to their location in metairie many times, i expected top-notch service. we were let down. first, the waiter took ten minutes to come to our table. we ordered waters which they brought out in what is best described as child-sized cups. he had to make four or five trips just on refills for our small cups. once to food came out, we had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to bring butter.

long story short.... the food was good but the service sucked.

houston's deserves every bit of this 5.0 rating. after all the years and all the price increases, they continue to remain fresh, relevant and deliver value and earn the high price to dine there.
thankfully they will now take a reservation, so long as you plan ahead and your party is not larger than 4. they are usually spot on with their wait time estimate and i appreciate that.
i don't believe i've ever had a bad meal here. i have to start with the house salad and prefer my combination dressing on the side. if you are splurging, go ahead and order an appetizer of the cheese toast because that one piece you get with the salad will leave you wanting more and it's simply not enough to share with whomever will be eyeing your plate with envy begging for a share.
the baby back ribs always are fabulous with a loaded baked potato and definitely enough for another meal in a doggie bag.
the combination salad with checking tenders makes a great lighter meal. i did not love the asian chicken salad and found it to be too spicy, which is a rare problem for me.
last night i tried the special which was redfish topped with fried rock shrimp and a white wine cream sauce that was delicious.
the burger is always great and so overloaded with cheddar cheese which makes it very inviting. my husband misses the canadian bacon which they've decided to replace with 2 strips of bacon, which doesn't fit the bun as well and makes it harder to eat.
the atmosphere is 100% cozy and we've been lucky to have whitney as our server on our last 3 visits, but honestly the service is impeccable regardless of whose table you get.

i had a wonderful experience here with my best friend. we went on a "girl date" and wound up with quite a pricey tab (that was our fault). the redfish i had was cooked to absolute perfection. our waiter was incredible and prompt with service. this is a great place for anything from a business meeting to a romantic night out with your so

very nice ambience!!

came here for a friends birthday on 10/1/15 and there were no grilled artichokes! they said the supplier had to re-farm a new batch and they won't have any in anytime soon! the sashimi and kale salad was excellent! the steak was also great, but not mind blowing. there was a very sweet sauce on the steak that i wasn't a huge fan of. this is a preference thing because i like my steaks on the salter side.

i have loved this restaurant since i was a child. it has been and always will be my favorite. i have so many memories here. my fiancé and i eat here for birthdays, special occasions, and certain holidays. we have always gotten great service and the food is outstanding. we're a chef, baker, pastry chef and decorator. so we know and love food. you have to try the spinach and artichoke dip with those perfect tortilla chips and the hawaiian rib-eye is out of this world. the best.

this is my go to place for a great drink. grapefruit juice is squeezed to order, you'll never have a better greyhound! the martinis are also spot on. unfortunately, the food isn't consistent and you'll have to wipe your own plates. i miss metairie, but at least they still have the smoked salmen....this is a must have!

great atmosphere! the food is amazing! one of the best places to get a nice juicy burger! me and my husband go at least five times a year. thumbs up!

one of the last houston's to offer the flying chicken platter. i love houston's ambience, the fragrance from the grill, and their incredible food. hillstone across town is great, but there are differences that make this houston's special.

food was really good! except for the mashed potatoes, had cabbage in them... kinda gross. service was not so good. took forever to be greeted, and when i expressed dissatisfaction over the mashed potatoes, no offer to replace was made. restaurant should be a $$$ instead of a $$. so at those prices they should offer to replace a side item... would go back.... maybe...

i have been a customer for many years. today was interesting. your hostess, a very pretty black lady, pregnant. i have seen her many times. but tonight she was overbearing. we were just ser rd our dinner and she stopped into chat. however the chat became a long chat about her dog and her problems in life t and then the food was cold and the wine was warm . i recommend to tell employees to keep the conversation to a minimum. sh e went on and on about her dog. so we ended up with cold food. and frankly i have just been coming back to your establishment but now i don't know how i feel about coming back. . i do not want to be held hostage to a sever. this was a very unusual evening. wow. hope it is not a repeat.

awesome date spot!!!. went here yesterday with my boy friend for lunch...i called and made a reservation,i highly suggest not going unless you have a reservation,as it gets pretty packed...we were sat almost 15 min after arrival,we was a half hour early,so this was great!!!we started with the spinach dip,which is amaaaaazing,so delish!!i got the thao steak salad,absolutely phenomenal...my boyfriend got a burger which was one of the best i've ever tasted...our waitress laura rocked it,very attentive and knowledgeable..had a wonderful experience,will define try be backkk!!!
