i love the food here, so i can let the 1 star count as that, but the staff is terrible. vista murphy is the real star of the show when it comes to not following management and customer service social norms. they kick people out for the most mundane reasons (and laugh while they do it in our case), refuse reasonable food alteration requests, and just generally make the experience hostile.

i can't prove that vista murphy is racist, but all evidence leads me to that conclusion. we've made a formal complaint about her to hillstone restaurant group.

if you experience something like that at this location i strongly suggest you make a complaint. i miss eating there as it was a frequent spot for my family, and i love the food. i just can't support this bad behavior with my money.

the service was great connor my server was wonderful, i had the redfish which was great and the grilled corn was so flavorful.

possibly the best burger in la. great quality of food across the menu only down side is some of the staff can be a bit snooty.

loved this atmosphere, very clean and professional. food great, service was great and friendly. we went for lunch, it is kid friendly, reasonably priced. recommend the ribeye and ribs.

good food good service but crowded

that's what happens when you mix good food good service and good facilities, you wind up being crowded all the time. veggie burger it is extremely good and i'm not a vegetarian. if you can get a chance to eat at the bar it's fast and the drinks are handy.

this is a restaurant that is always busy for a reason, it is great. when i am in the mood for a real french dip sandwich made with rare prime rib this is the place. never disappoints. not only is it always good but the fries are to die for. nice and thin shoestring fresh potatoes. try the onion rings while you are at it.

if you are in the mood for salad the ahi tuna is as good as any that i have ever had. the portions are huge as well. i have never had a poor meal here. give it a try.

atmosphere. ate at the bar and service was excellent. three piece jazz combo was excellent and not intrusive. good wine list. my only complaint is that the cornbread croutons definitely do not complement the caesar salad.

what can i say other than this place has by far has the best hands ribs i have ever tasted. if you visit new orleans be sure to check this place out! the service was also exceptional.

i had dinner with a friend last night, we decided to sit at the bar, our server was yessica silva. best service i have ever had, she was instrumental in our wine selection and food selection. food was amazing, i had the special trout, awesome!!

consistent, dallas staple restaurant, and quintessential american bistro if there is such a type of dining experience.
this is dining without expectations and a place i would take visitors just for the value and delivered experience.

just a bourgeois steak house? not hardly. take that as a starting point, add exceptionally welcoming and friendly service, live jazz that doesn't intrude, and one really outstanding dish (the hawaiian ribeye; mmwaah!) and of course the charm of streetcars passing on st charles avenue.

not sure when houston's, which i remember from years ago as eclectic american restaurant became a sushi restaurant. not that sushi is only offering but it is featured prominently and is very good, if not traditional. salads also very good. of note: would not call this a kid friendly restaurant. no children's menu altho waiter offered grilled cheese.

i wish i could leave a -1 rating for these nasty and racist people at this houston's! i just called the home office, sent an email and spoke with someone higher up!attempted to go to this houston's this past saturday for my sister's bday and boy was it a disaster! i will never patronize them again! it all started with the nasty hostess jessica who was not a hostess at all. she gave us a poor greeting and when i told her we were a party of 3 and here for a bday she told us we could sit in the bar area. i was thinking this isn't happy hour why would she suggest that. then when i asked about sitting in the booth in the bar area she was like it only accommodates 2..i said we have 3 maybe we can squeeze in but she kept insisting that it only seats 2. so now we're like why would you  suggest it then....she thought we were going to sit at a barstool for a bday lunch...really??so once she seated us....we felt some type of way like she was really rude so i asked for the manger....not knowing she would be rude too! i explain to vista what happened and her main point was that the bar booth does only accommodate 2....what??!!! are you guys crazy or what!!!  you have no customer service!!! hello!!!so i say well let me ask for jeremy who is supposed to be the lead manager or asst gen manager but he was so rude and disrespectful after i told him everything that happened he was like and i quote "ok are you finished?  are you done talking about how bad we are? yes we are rude, nasty, mean, lack customer service and all that!....you feel better now? does that make you happy? or no?" i was floored! total racist and must be voting for trump because he was so nasty!  the 3 of us (aa black females) all began to ask him was he serious?? he was like yes and we probably wont make you all happy today and my sister begins to slide out of the booth and say lets go and he's like yeah you should because it wont be a good experience for real and as we proceeded to leave and look at him like he was crazy....he was like and i quote "and you shouldn't come back either...ever...not ever!"i have never been so disrespected and the only reason i didn't curse his ass out was because i didn't want to go to jail or have my guy come and whip his little ass.....because he is a little guy and probably has a insecurity about that.i told the office in az they don't have to worry about me anymore!in addition both of my sisters have had issues there in the past with diff managers and the other hostess.i guess they are mad because african american's are in manhattan beach!wow!!!!

i've been going to houston for weeks and it is one of my all time favorite places. best veggie burger ever. my only complaint is that it is always crowded! when i go, i go in "off hours" usually mid afternoon. but even if there's a wait, it's worth it!!
