there is a reason there is mainly a 2 hour wait. this restaurant is simply aplaceyou want to be. the atmosphere, the food, the service. those are the 3 keys to a successful restaurant. i dare you to find an item on the menu that isn't of the highest quality. their burgers are ground daily to ensure the best freshness, their steaks are so tender they melt in your mouth. the 2 famous apps (peel and eat shrimp, and the artichoke and spinach dip) are must haves when you come with a group of people, but do be prepared to wait, i one time waited 2 hours for a table at 5pm on a thursday.

incredible!! we read the reviews and thought we'd give houston's a try. really, really good. and our waitresses, lindsey and tiffany were both great! very attentive. now, about the food. i had the hickory burger with fries. mmmm....good! my husband and our buddy both had the french dip with fries. loved it! my husband said it's the best french dip he has ever had. oh, and save room for the large slice of key lime pie. out of this world!! do yourself a favor and don't pass thisplaceup. :-)

what can i say other than thisplacehas by far has the best hands ribs i have ever tasted. if you visit new orleans be sure to check thisplaceout! the service was also exceptional.

consistent, dallas staple restaurant, and quintessential american bistro if there is such a type of dining experience.

this is my go toplacefor a great drink. grapefruit juice is squeezed to order, you'll never have a better greyhound! the martinis are also spot on. unfortunately, the food isn't consistent and you'll have to wipe your own plates. i miss metairie, but at least they still have the smoked salmen....this is a must have!

have been here muliple times but this is the last time. .. .. i have come here regularly and yes the food is great and the ambiance great however this time is the last time as this was a "special occasion" and houston's dropped the ball twice.

i flew in from out of town (live in michigan) although i grew up in pasadena area as my grandmother was dying (she died the day we went to houston's) and i called to make a reservation for about 7 people and the hostess gave me this canned answer we cant take that big of a party and we cant guarantee you will be together and then i told the hostess i was taking my family out as my grandmother (who was a mother to me just died) and the hostess (1) didnt even offer her condolences and (2) stated they couldnt guarantee we could be put together . . i mean come on this is truly a special occasion and they didnt accommodate us and yet we still went to houston's (this is my mistake).

we had wonderful dinner and gave the waiter a great tip and after i paid he disappeared (even though we wanted water and a club soda) and then when we flagged a runner we asked for the club soda and then they brought it to us and then when we left they hunted us down and stated "oh sir you need to pay for this club soda" and when i stated that the service at the end left a lot to be desired she stated "was there a problem as i can get a manager" and then i stated that the service at the end left a lot to be desired as the waiter (lance) just disappeared and i also stated that my grandmother had passed away today and once again no "my condolences" ....so in the end this is the last time i will ever come here and i recommend being in la with the plethora of great restaurants why go to aplacethat kicks you when you are down.

super overrated!! came here on a business lunch with a few clients and i was mortified that i had chosen thisplaceto eat! everything looks nice, but tastes way below average and costs way above what it should. who puts beets in a veggie burger?!

this is a good go toplacefor a good steak or if you are taking your parents out to dinner! very american but good food, safe for boring eaters;)

hubby took me for my first time ever today. i was so excited because i have heard people rave about this place. was told it was theplaceto go if you wanted a really good steak. i don't know what the big to do is about this place. i ordered prime rib and it was cooked well, but it was bland. why would you have fries as the side item to prime rib? these so called fries are like match sticks!not big enough to taste like potato. the only saving there was the dessert. that little happy feeling was quickly dashed when we got the check. food is not worth the prices they charge. i have had a better steak at red lobster as far as i'm concerned

one of la's best spots. where do i start? wednesday features their homemade mexico city soup. you have to taste this soup to believe it. i come here weekly just for this soup. incredible. friday has their clam chowder, it is so dang good. i often also get a bacon chesseburger, which, for the money, is well worth it. cooked as you like it to perfection. steaks and the prime rib french dip are the bomb. best cole slaw i've ever had. exellent baby back ribs too. salads are great, i recommend the jungle thai salad with filet mignon steak. makes your mouth have an orgasm form th emango and dressing. been coming here for 20+years, and i can say i never had a bad meal. i'll gladly pay the price delta without blinking an eye-because you get what you pay for. drinks? always good. when u are ready to spend a little more dining out, this is theplaceto come and service is excellent.

former employee. i used to work there and i can tell all of you hands down that this is the cleanest kitchen i've ever seen. the food is fresh and excellent. not my favoriteplacei've worked, but hands down the cleanest, freshestplacei've worked in my over 10 years of food service.

finest ribs in la!. five stars in every category. the service is excellent and the waiters and waitresses are always available when you need them. they are always waiting with drink refills even before being asked. servers are professional and very helpful. the setting is nice for a romantic meal and even a family dinner. the food tops all other achievements. baby back ribs are tender and the taste is heightened by the use of home-made barbecue sauce. the prime rib is also a must-try. definitely check thisplaceout!!!

best steak in town!!!. i've been to houston's a few times now with my family and i always leave satisfied. they serve traditional american cuisine like prime rib and baby-back ribs. the meat is tender and the sides for all the dishes are all delicious. although houston's menu is very limited, the quality of the meals definitely outweigh the lack of choice. the restaurants are usually well-lit and perfect for a romantic meal. the service is superb and the waiters and waitresses all know how to pace themselves and how to always keep the customer in mind.

ok...not great. i like the food here. yeah, it's a pretty unoriginal menu. yeah, theplaceis a chain. yeah, there's not a lot of nola flavor. yeah, it's not going to knock your socks off. but still, i've never had a meal here that hasn't tasted good or been well prepared. i've always had good service at houston's too.

granted, i don't think that i have ever had an entree here. i've always had a salad, sandwhich, or soup (or a combination of those three). the soups are always really good. the tortilla soup and the baked potato soup are both great. they make good burgers too.

houston's da bomb!. the best, especially when you're with athletes..lol, in all worlds. the best prime rib sandwich this side of of the mississippi. my experience was non-pretentious, and down to earth. only had lunch there, and heard they do not take reservations, but however the system is, houston's is a resfreshing, wonderfulplacecompared to the "norm" l.a. scene.
