truly delicious veggie burger. i'm always amazed at how few restaurants bother to put forth any effort for those patrons that may opt to not eat meat. houston's is not one of those apathetic restaurants, their house-made veggie burger goes way beyond any of my expectations. i am not completely vegetarian, but much of my diet is meat -free, so when i saw this veggie burger on the menu, i decided to give it a try. the waitress assured me that it was popular. when my burger arrived i couldn't believe the size, it was huge. i bit into it and was shocked to see that it was rather pink inside as though it was beef cooked medium rae. i called the waitress over and told her that i had received the wrong burger and she laughed and said that a lot of people say that when they order this burger for the first time. apparently they use beets to make it look that way! it was absolutely delicious and now i crave it all the time. the rest of my family was very happy with their meal too and the side dishes are delicious. we'll be back many times, for sure!

just okay. houston's was just okay. the menu does not have a wide variety. however, the grilled artichoke was great and the fried oyster salad was okay. i wouldn't choose to eat here though

they have changed. i have been dining at houston's for years and have always loved their food and service. tonight was very different. our waitress forgot our appetizer order (blamed us for not properly ordering it), brought our dinner out right on top of the appetizer once it came and then asked us to leave as there was a wait for the table. since they added 18% gratuity to the check for a party of five, we now know her reason. never in my life have i been asked to leave a restaurant so that they could turn over the table. the manager was very nice when we spoke to him about the situation. we will probably give it another chance only because of how many years we have been going there.

one of la's best spots. where do i start? wednesday features their homemade mexico city soup. you have to taste this soup to believe it. i come here weekly just for this soup. incredible. friday has their clam chowder, it is so dang good. i often also get a bacon chesseburger, which, for the money, is well worth it. cooked as you like it to perfection. steaks and the prime rib french dip are the bomb. best cole slaw i've ever had. exellent baby back ribs too. salads are great, i recommend the jungle thai salad with filet mignon steak. makes your mouth have an orgasm form th emango and dressing. been coming here for 20+years, and i can say i never had a bad meal. i'll gladly pay the price delta without blinking an eye-because you get what you pay for. drinks? always good. when u are ready to spend a little more dining out, this is the place to come and service is excellent.

love this place........... i order the same thing every time i go (driving a little over an hour to get to hackensack). the spinach dip is the best ever (and every time the hubby screws up, he takes a drive to get me one to go) and the hawaiian ribeye is to die for. the only down side, my husband only eats chicken/turkey and they only offer one chicken dish.

best french fries i have ever had! they also have a nice selection of fish and different entree's. never have had a problem their!

i love houston's so much! they have the best food in the world! don't tell my mom. their hamburgers are amazing.
their french dip is the best i have ever had.
my husband and i bought a house down the street from houston's just so we could ride out bikes there.
the atmosphere is pleasant. everyone is friendly. anyone who complains about anything at houston's can gladly go somewhere else. i don't want to dine near anyone who doesn't appreciate such a wonderful place.

my son and i have going here since he was about ten years old (he's almost 16 now). he loves the cheeseburger and the red bean and rice soup, and we always order both vegetable sides. we still talk about the sliced beets with creme fraiche. nobody does veggies like houston's.

all good. my wife and i were heading for flemming's to have a steak. after a hard day of touristing, having left sedona at dusk, we were very tired. on our way, i say houston's steakhouse. i thought it was peculiar that it did not come up in urbanspoon's steakhouse list as it is listed under american. anyway we stopped there and it was an enjoyable experience all the way through. from kati our waitress to the food, everything was perfect. please have the grilled artichokes, they were worth the trip!

poor cocktail mix. had dinner for two last night at houston's.the tap around $150.
the food was the houston's standard and good.
however.....
ordered two vodka martini ,both of which demanded a much more generous touch of vodka.
have had the same cocktail previously .this was no comparison.
suspect the lack of the usual amount of liqueur in my cocktail must have been due to either an inferior bar service or some intentional manipulation to increase repeated bar orders.
hope not the latter.
intend to try your restaurant once more and render my view again.or pursue other channels.

my favorite restaurant!!! i go here all the time. order anything, it's all sensational.

delicious. one of the best restaurants in scottsdale. they have a steak salad that is to die for and amazing prime rib and well hell everything is tasty. make a reservation!!
