what a concept. hammontree's gourmet grilled cheese sandwich is perfect for people who simply want a great sandwich without resorting to burgers, subs, wraps, and other "deli sandwiches".
their sandwiches are cheesey, rich, and fully customizable. they cater to almost all tastes with many types of cheeses: gouda, brie, goat, colby jack, asiago, just to name some. morever, they also serve soup such as french onion, crawfish bisque(!!), among others.
the prices are very reasonable too. most sandwiches are between $6 to $8 and come with pickles and chips. if you're feeling like having a variety, you can do the half-sandwich with cup of soup for about $7 as well.
they're a very popular place and already need to expand despite being one of the newest restaurants on dickson, which is a testament to the level of demand out there for a well-made grilled cheese sandwich. of course, with the popularity comes the downside: inconsistent service. but thankfully, they're right next to a bookstore that's literally connected to them so you can hop over there, wait for your food, while you read something interesting. the staff will actually come to find you when your food is ready.
as of now, they only deliver to campus faculties at the u of a.
