last saturday around 6 pm my husband and i decided to try hammontrees. we motioned to the guy at the register that we were going outside, and he nodded in approval. we sat out there for 20 minutes. not a single soul acknowledged us; however, two servers working inside both passed us by and we made eye contact so i knew they saw me. another couple with a baby were also ignored. they left as did we after 20 minutes. we then walked to theo's and dropped $150 on dinner and drinks. i might give them another shot....though i doubt it.

amazing!!. went to hammontree's for dinner tonight and was more than pleasantly surprised. started off with the edamame humus which was great, could have just eaten the warm pita bread and been more than satisfied. i had the ozark monte cristo, the corn bread that it comes on is an interesting and delicious. mom ate the scarlet cheddar which was equally great. we finished off with the only dessert option which is grilled cheese cake, not too sweet and a great end to the meal. we are not from fayetteville but visit regular and can't wait to return and keep trying our way through the entire menu!!

hammontrees is the most fantastic casual dining experience in fayetteville. everything they serve is delicious, and the atmosphere is friendly for all ages. i suggest bringing out of town friends and relatives to this unique restaurant.

replace your traditional fare with something a little more cheesey. cheebacca, you my homie. we cool too, black bean tortilla soup. and even you, blueberry tea, i didn't think we'd click but man you got some mad skills.

defintely a great place for a variety of delicious grilled cheeses. every cheese is great. a little pricey for the amount you get but still tasty if you love cheese

if you haven't eaten here yet, your life's work is not done. eat here. let's put it this way...if my boyfriend doesn't ask me to marry him, i hope the brie's company does. and the black bean tortilla soup can be our flower girl.

who doesn't love grilled cheese?. great restaurant with what you might call "adult" grilled cheese sandwiches. several types of cheese combinations to choose from with sophisticated spreads to complement. you may have heard that you can truly judge a good restaurant by looking at the house salad. if you order the hammontree house salad it will tell you all you need to know. delicious.

love it. i have been to this place a few times now, and it is fantastic and offers some really unique items. the variety of offerings is truly impressive (both sandwiches and some really interesting hot dogs), and i look forward to trying more. word of warning though...the soups are pretty awful. i hope they do something about that, cause i would love to be able to do soup with the sandwiches there...some of them would go great with a good soup.

as far as i'm concerned, definitely go...so much to try, so little room in my stomach!

fabulous food. don't let "grilled cheese" put you in mind of pasty soggy american cheese filled sandwiches. cheeses, meats, and veggies galore to fill your sandwich. you have to give it a try.

craveable!. love this place! i think of it as more of an 'upscale' restaurant using grilled cheese format :) they use delicious ingredient combinations like brie with fig or bruschetta with a blend of cheeses on sourdough. so delicious!! i've tried all of their soups, and the crawfish bisque is the best, although the black bean tortilla is pretty good too.

i was very excited to order my first sandwich from hammontree's and called in a order for delivery as i'm stuck in the office and can't make it over, to find out they don't deliver anymore?? take them off the "delivery" section of urbanspion, and hammontree's: update your website, please :)

go for the sandwiches, skip the soup. hammontree's offers so many types of grilled cheese sandwiches, it'll make your head spin. various cheese and bread options, delicious with or without meat, and several combinations you'll wish you had thought of before now. i've tried 3 sandwiches so far, and all were wonderful. if you're on a diet, grilled cheese is probably not your best bet, but this is comfort food at its best. that being said, i do not recommend the crawfish soup. it literally tasted like a can of rotel and a few pieces of crawfish had been added to a bowl of cream. i'm sure some cajun spices were in there somewhere, but the thin broth and large chunks of stewed tomatoes reminded me of runny cheese dip and made the soup inedible. don't let this detour you from visiting hammontree's. just skip the soup and stick to their wonderful sandwiches!

i almost forgot to mention their new byob (bring your own bread) gluten-free option. if you bring gluten-free bread to the restaurant, they will use it to make the sandwich of your choice. is it inconvenient to expect customers to carry their own ingredients to dinner? yes, but it's a step in the right direction. if the community proves there's a demand for gluten-free options, maybe they'll begin carrying the bread as well.
