hammontree's grilled cheese

copycat. this has been revealed on a food channel. lacking originality and overpriced are two strong enough points to allow me to miss this one. meets my expectation of current fayeteville.
with themes like sushi, at least you are getting a product that would be difficult to find at a local market.

cheesy. i've had a couple sandwiches here. it's actually pretty surprising what they can do to a "grilled cheese" sandwich. it's an expensive little sandwich but worth trying. it's certainly not the average grilled cheese. i would have never figured glamorous cheese sandwiches would be a hit. well, it is fayetteville so there you go. i may have found a new hangover remedy.

oh yes, that hit the spot. first of you have to find the place. the google map on urbanspoon doesn't match where it's located. it's right behind hog house and across the street from the rail car bank. hope that helps someone. i had the scarlet cheddar and a bowl of crawfish bisque and i have to say that this was the best. prepared perfectly and everyone else i was with completely enjoyed their meal as well. i think this is one of those places that you can just point to some random item and it's going to be great. i know why they are on top of the list. the service was slow enough for everyone to notice but it could have been just a fluke happening. i'll update this the next time i go. i will definitely be back and try something else.

excellent!! try the ozark monte cristo. it sounds a little odd and the powdered sugar may sound different but it all works together. the cheebaca is great too!

great sandwiches. highly reccomend the "brie's company" sandwich.

well worth the stop. excellent excellent food! everything from the unique sandwiches (both ingredients and names) to the soups to the new gourmet dogs to the beers on tap. we've been multiple times, order something different every time, and tend to be picky, and have yet to be disappointed. t-shirts and shorts on the patio, to pre-arts center-show dress up, always a comfortable and very friendly venue. great staff, great service, great food, great prices, great location. what more could you ask for? this is the first restaurant in this cursed location that i will pray survives and thrives.

surprising. i had heard soooo much about hammontree's i thought it couldn't really be all that, it was!!! good food and cold beer. well worth the effort to get there and finding a place to park!!

a bit expensive for toast and cheese. i went for lunch twice, service is good, place is clean, but it's just ok food and too expensive for what you get. by the time you buy a sandwich, i just had the house cheese, and a drink the price is $12 with a small tip to the wait staff. $12 for bread, cheese, some chips and a coke? too many other places on dickson offering $5 to $6 dollar whole meal deals including a drink.

not just grilled cheese any mo'. isin't it funny how some of the most simple foods of our childhood find their way back to our hearts. if your familiar with hammontree's then you know about the grilled cheese. but what else do they have? on my most recent visit i chose to go against my standby scarlet cheddar, and venture to try they're newly added hot dogs (another childhood favorite of most all kids). i chose they're chicago dog for a wapping 5 and change... after recently returing from a weekend in chicago, i had the real thing to compare it to. while the hammontree's chicago dog wasnt exactly the twin i was looking for (they're were no sport peppers) it was better than i had expected and once again hammontrees proceeded my expectations. (chicago dog's are also available at feltner brothers... with sport peppers... but no grilled cheese :))

when i think grilled cheese i think kraft singles on white bread. no longer... hammontrees is one of the best little sandwich places in fay. simple but cool, and screams with the uniqueness of fayetteville. i have enjoyed the caprese and the scarlet cheddar sandwiches there and loved them both.

the amigo dog is where its at!! i've had several grilled cheeses also and i've yet to be disappointed! great service, great food, great atmosphere! highly recommend!

great food. great people. but hat i really like is the atmosphere. large windows all around with a great view of what is going on downtown including the railroad tracks.
