hammontree's grilled cheese

mmm, cheeeeese.... three beautiful words: grilled... cheese... restaurant!! they make grilled cheese, and they do a hell of job! perfectly buttery, crispy bread, ooey gooeycheeseinside and tons of other tasty ingredients to choose from. they've come up with some pretty creative sandwiches and put 'em on the menu, or you can build your own from a large selection of cheeses, meats and veggies. my favorite so far has been the rookie (their basic grilled cheese) with fresh mozzarella and prosciutto added in... pretty simple, but very tasty!

wow - ozarks hidden cheesy secret - im a big fan of grilledcheeseand boutique brew and this place has both. very eclectic crowd and feel. after walking around the district this little gem fits right in and excels. great service from people having fun. food is top notch & gourmet for what it is. never will you find such art put into a sandwich! everything is top notch and don’t worry about stopping at the bank! ever a college kid can afford to enjoy this on a regular basis. looking around this is no secret to the locals. about whenever you drive by this place is busy. will definitely come back!

excellent in all areas, great ambiance...wonderful part of town and the food is incredible! gourmet grilledcheesesandwiches and the gouda sweet potato fries are to die for!

everything here is very tasty and good. but there's one sandwich i always get because it has the best flavor of them all. its the pig sooie sandwich. pulled pork and jalapenos on it along withcheeseof course. get a side of bbq sauce to go with it. it's incredible!! their salads are very fresh and good. good soups. haven't tried the hot dogs yet. very good food here! great service too.

consistent every time, my boys love it.  greatcheesesandwiches, funky vibe.  what's not to like?  sweet potato fried are great and the chewbacca is the bestcheesesandwich i've ever eaten.

seriously the best grilledcheesejoint i've been to! lots of options! i got the cheebacca and the flavors went together perfectly! had the blueberry grilledcheesefor dessert and it was heavenly!

this place knows their grilled cheese! for someone who has gluten issues and dairy issues, you would think a grilledcheesesandwich would not be the answer. think again, gluten free bread with a vegan cheese, wow, the beatnik is my new favorite sandwich for sure! have a go at it, i know you'll love it! happy eating!

i've been to a few specialty grilledcheeserestaurants and hammontree's is the best i've had. it's a cool college-town pub setting and all the sandwiches are served with a cherry pepper on top. we had a fried artichoke appetizer which was outstanding. the sandwiches are large, plenty ofcheeseand the additional items of the selection. i've eaten at a few places in fayetteville, and this is the top of my list that i would return to.

awesome grilledcheesesandwiches.  they also have other things to eat, but nothing beats the grilled cheese.  i haven't tried the other things though, but i'm probably right about this one lol.

fun place & unique offerings. hammontree's is a fun place with a slight alternative feel. it goes well with the jacked up grilledcheeseofferings. on nice days you can sit on the outdoor patio. the servers are polite but not overly helpful. it reminds me a little of dinner style service, "yeah, whatta you'll have?" the food offering is fun and worth multiple visits to work through the various styles of grilled cheese. parmageddon is a family favorite with parmigiano-reggiano, prosciutto ham, sauteed mushrooms on parmesan crusted bread. i like the ragin' cajun with grilled andouille sausage, pablano peppers, three-alarm colby jack, housecheeseand sauce piquant on jalapeno corn bread. all of the grilledcheeseare creative, taste great and cost about $7. huge thumbs up to this place. my only knock is the restaurant is closed on sunday. as a uark parent, saturday is the only day to make a visit. it's always crazy.

seriously addicting. i really love this place. as a vegetarian this place has mega options for me, and they are so helpful in switching ingredients. i took a friend the other day who is gluten-free vegan and the waiter sat down next to us and walked us through the menu covering what all is gluten free and what is sauteed with butter so they could avoid those. the beers on tap are delicious brews from around the nwa area and they are reasonably priced.

the only negative is it seems like when i go in i'm either the only one there or it's super packed. also sometimes they really need a 2nd bartender stationed because the first one is bogged down in checking people out at the register.

anyway, super recommend it. when first hearing about hammontree's i was thinking "why would anyone go to a grilledcheeseplace?" but then i took the leap and found a wonderful place with awesome staff, amazing food, and tasty local beer. i go at least once a week :d

a fayetteville favorite. this is one of my favorite places to eat in fayetteville. though there is usually a wait, it is worth it. i always try and create my own grilledcheeseand, no matter the weird combination i come up with, it is always delicious. we make it a point to stop by any time we are in nwa.

cheesy.. i didn't know gourmet grilledcheeseexisted until visiting hammontrees. now i do. neat. every time i go i like to try one of the various sandwiches and have mostly been satisfied. it may just be my taste, but the majority of the meat-less grilledcheesesandwiches seem to lack any flavors that really jump out at you and often end up bland tasting. the sandwiches with meat are all great especially in addition to the ever amazing sweet potato fries with their avocado ranch. i highly reccommend the ragin' cajun, monte cristo, or east of edam - the sweet potato fries are a given.

great food, atmosphere; service could improve. i had dinner recently at hammontree's grilledcheeserecently on a friday night. the food options are wonderful - it took us awhile to decide what to order because everything sounded so great. we settled on three sandwiches and a soup for our table to split. two of the three sandwiches (cheebacca? and caprese) were top notch, and the third (monte cristo) was good, but we'd probably do the brie sandwich next time (as we had it at the hammontree food truck in the past). the soup was also very good (spinach gorgonzola). we also ordered coffee, and our server had mentioned she would be making a fresh pot of coffee as they were out. we said that would be fine, but what she later brought out definitely was not fresh. it was clearly microwaved. had we known that there was no fresh coffee (and that they weren't making any more), we would've just ordered something else to drink. our food was slow to come out, but our server had let us know that they were short-staffed, so we were not overly concerned nor in a hurry with respect to time. what did bother us was our server's attitude. one example - we asked if it was possible to cut our sandwich into fourths or alternatively to bring us a knife so that we could do it ourselves since we would be sharing all three. our server said that wouldn't be possible and later forgot to bring us a knife until we had asked twice.

great comfort food. my hubby and i had the special grilledcheesesandwiches and i also had the french onion soup. soups are homemade but was not impressed. the sandwiches were awesom though. we had 2 beers in addition and our bill was $24.00 which i thought was reasonable. sandwiches were really, really good. the parking is horrible though. so crowded in that area depsite us getting there at 5:45. go early!
