hakataya ramen

the soup was quite delicious but i am pretty sure i had better one before. i wished i had asked for extra noodles (which is free of charge!).

apparently this noodle shop has been here for almost a year and i had no idea it existed. we first went there a couple of weeks ago and i've been there countless times since :) this little noodle shop constantly has a queue out the store and if they run out of their soup, they shut the store for the day. on our first visit, we ordered by 6.15pm and 10 minutes later they had sold out of soup and couldn't serve anymore people. apparently, 6.30pm is late, sometimes they closed at 3 to 4pm! the chefs are japanese, the noodles are fresh and the soup is delicious!! even better, they do not cut the soup with water in order to stretch it. char siu-men $13. jeff's favourite. miso spicy-men $12. my favourite. karaka-men $11.50. the most spiciest dish. gyoza $7. juicy and very tasty. i'm in love with this place! it's really affordable and the ramen is seriously good. they don't have a large menu which i think that's a good thing because i much rather a restaurant do a handful of dishes exceptiona

why yes, i will have free noodles.. a very authentic and tasty ramen. the broth is rich and spicy which i love, and they offer extra noodles for free. can it get any better? the inside area reminds me so much of japan, and the friendliness of the staff matches up too. an all round authentic japanese ramen experience.

amazing. hakataya is a great place, service is good. they are a true japanese run restaurant and they give you extra noodles which is a very big plus! especially when you have the munchies.. you have to try their tonkotsu! the best ramen i have had in a long time.

fantastic ramen and great little tucked up restaurant. the broth is quite rich and spicy which is great and they do offer an extra bowl of noodles for free which is a huge plus in my books! only let down is that noodles can be a bit over cooked rather than the traditional chewiness a ramen noodle should have

closest thing to ramen in japan. so far this is the only ramen shop i've had in brisbane that can compare to those in japan. places like ajisen are good but can't reproduce the same flavours. the broth is rich and flavoursome, the noodles taste fresh and handmade and you can get extra free extra noodles to boot! the menu is quite small, literally only three ramen items on the menu (one item being the same as another but with more chashiu). the gyoza's are good and well cooked, moist with a crispy base. the staff were genuinely friendly and efficient, as you'd expect from the japanese. only complaint is that the broth could have been a little hotter (temperature wise) but that's just a personal preference. be cautious this place is very small so expect a line-up anytime of the day. the wait is well worth it. highly recommended. oishi-desu!!

the main winner at hakataya is their famed tonkotsu. when broth is bad, it tastes like stock cubes and msg. this one was natural and simple in flavor but still had depth and complexity. i hear that tonkotsu is supposed to be highly nutritious too.

oishi ramen. friends and i waited in line for up to 15 minutes to eat here but it was well worth the wait. we sat at the bench which was quite interesting as you can see exactly how they make the ramen. the service was fast and efficient. the broth was quite rich but quite tasteful the chashu melted in your mouth. hope to return again.

it is a tiny little shop with 8 seats at the noodle bar and 2 tables outside. we went there on sunday 3pm and there's a line of about 6 to 8 people. we are die-hard-ramen-fans and we have been longing for an authentic japanese ramen restaurant in brisbane
