hakataya ramen

yummy ramen. very tasty street food style noodles and broth. i like the option for extrafreenoodles, have never walked away hungry. will coming here more during winter.

free noodles on your birthday. what is there not to love about that! come here, then go get yourfreeboost afterwards to wash it down. in recent years they have been writing down your license details to prevent exploitation i guess.

when dining here any other day, it’s pretty good. like thefreenoodle refill you can get, and service is pretty quick. however due to the fast turn around, often many of the seats need to be cleared which is a bit delayed, or the limited seating is full. they definitely could use more seating room compared to the emptier restaurants to either side

best ramen in brisbane. i eat ramen at least once a weak and hakataya my favourite place to go. i always leave full, and sides are just best. andfreenoodle? amazing!

haven’t been to hakataya for ages, since i’m getting afreeramen today i might as well go have afreelunch. the broth tasted different from before, taste a bit watered down, and i had to ask for takana, i thought you notify them you don’t want takana, instead of the other way around. and the most disappointing dish was the gyoza, it’s either burnt on one side and the other side is not cooked, and it looked like they just pile them randomly on a plate, instead of plate them nicely. i probably can fry better gyoza at home...

food quality: very good
price: average but you can get extra noodle forfree
service: i believes it always good whenever i went there. friendly staff and feel welcome
facility: look good after they refurbishment their store.

pretty much my go to place if i ever start to crave ramen. can not go wrong with pretty much any dish on the menu (unless you do not like spicy). all dishes have lots of flavour and plus offer an extrafreeserving to noodles if you ever feel more peckish.

perfect. delicious ramen always. pork succulent. awesomefreenoodle refills. fast and friendly service with a smile. also good for sitting and eating alone.. i found out as i came in for myfreebirthday ramen before work (lol, yep. nothing to be ashamed of).

i was taken here years ago when this was the only hakataya ramen in existence, before ramen places started popping up everywhere in brisbane, and i immediately fell in love with it. since then i have been to japan twice and tried many different ramen styles and i can say this the product here is highly flavoursome, authentic and is better than some bowls of ramen i had in japan (they were all different of course, and everyone has preferences, but for tonkotsu broth this is really great). the broth is warming and rich while not being too heavy and and the noodles are cooked perfectly, you don't want them over cooked otherwise they go soggy in the broth. the basic ramen, which is my favourite, is quite simple. there is no egg, bamboo or anything special served on top but i enjoy the simplicity of the pork and spring onions. the service here is great and the staff are really nice, and thefreenoodles are bonus!

reliable and cheap! always come here. always delicious and hits the spot. 

the first time i tried this place was one of the best experiences of my life. i always remember many years ago eating ramen in tokyo taken by our tour guide off the track in his spare time. the place was just in a tent. that was the best ramen i had ever tried. i've never been able to find the same taste since, until i ate this.
i now know that i had hakata style ramen and basically no-one was doing it in australia (most of them seem to be doing it now!). hakataya was the first place to have it and do it really well. even though there's only 4 types of ramen, they do it so well!!

the musubi is ok, i mean no-one else does it so it's nice they have it here.

love thefreebirthday ramen :) just wish it was more pram friendly.

personally, i think this place is a little overrated and also overpriced for what you get. yes they give you afreebowl of just noodles when you request for it, but really, making ramen noodles don't cost all that much at all. i personally am very picky with japanese food (probably because it is also my favourite cuisine). their ramen soup is not thick enough, the chashus are nice but are also ridiculously tiny, there is always a long queue during meal times, which then leads to no place to sit unless you are lucky. if you have had ramen in kyushu, japan (where 'hakata' is located) you would be disappointed with this place as the ramen here is not very authentic.

the ramen broth is very average. but compared to japan it sits around 1 out of 10. taste nothing like japan. there aren't any good ramen places in brisbane to compare with. the taste needs to be deeper and stronger. i'd say the tonkotsu broth does need another 3 hours of boil. u do get afreesecond bowl of ramen if you do ask but this is a normal practice in japan and around the world when dining at a ramen place so i don't know why some reviewers see this as a big deal. it happens everywhere.

one of my go-to places whenever i'm starved. they have quite a number of branches distributed in the city, indooroopilly, etc.. my personal favourite is char siu men which has a very rich flavoured soup base with few pieces of thinly cut char siu (pork). could never get enough of it. all the other choices are really good too if you feel like a change of taste. and don't forget to ask for thefreeextra noodles!

not too much choices but a good place to quickly warm ur stomach up. good part is you can always order extra noodles forfreeeach time. there is not much good ramen in brisbane so can't complain......

you always feel welcome coming here for your fix of ramen. the soup is flavoursome and with afreebowl of noodles after your first, it's definitely very filling. i definitely love the miso spicy men with a side of gyoza which is always crunchy and succulent. if you come on your birthday it's free! doesn't matter which branch you go to, the flavour is the same which is great!

yummy ramen. we ordered char-siu noodles. they were yummy but made us so so so thirsty afterwards. we also hadfreerefills (kaedama). the temperature of the soup in our bowl was not hot enough to cook the refills. if you think you might order refills, eat your noodles very quickly otherwise your refills would be undercooked in your bowl. i give 6 out of 10 to this place.
