i loved this cafe! i am a local sydney sider who just wants a pleasant experience, a good coffee & delicious food. man, did this place deliver! i was instantly impressed with the friendly service & inner city decor. the flat white was made to perfection, and whilst i didn't love the earthy flavoured bean, i still enjoyed it! i ordered the heirloom tomato/avocado/goats cheese thing & my gosh it tasted great. every element was perfect & even though this is a common aussie dish, it was one of the best versions i've had. i was also surprised at how much i got on my plate. usually you only get enough for one slice of bread, but i found i was packing on so much avocado and goats cheese onto every bite of toast.

overall amazing experience & i can't wait to go back there again!!!

the menu is not very exciting. scrambled eggs was mediocre, but the potato fennel hash was really good.

so i took a two week break from brunching (not a voluntary decision mind you) and let me tell you...it was horrible. i missed my weekly dose of eggs and coffee terribly, and vowed to never sway from brunching ever again. four ate five was a delightful discovery upon m and i's lucky fortune in securing a parking spot on crown street. seriously, that never happens. despite the 20 minute (painfullly hungry) wait, we left feeling very satisfied. i love cafes that offer specials in addition to their regular menu - it means that there is always a surprise, usually a good one.  i was off to a good start with my much needed dose of caffeine - the skim cappucino ($3.80) was beautifully frothy but slightly too bitter. m ordered a strawberry milkshake  ($7) because he had "seen someone drinking it"  however 5 minutes later we realised that there was no such order on the menu. now we were really intrigued as to why they didn't stop our order and anticipated what was to come. the result? a sublime

don't bother, this place is not worth the line up outside. it took a full hour between arriving and receiving any food. awful burger which came on sourdough with the worst chips in history. they were soggy and floppy and very oily. not good value either.

came here for brunch one day to try out their baked eggs. we did have to wait about 10-15 minutes but it wasn't that awful of a wait, seemed to go really quick.
food was decent, and coffee was good as well. the service was friendly, and really nothing to complain about. definitely go and eat here! mr zonks

worth the wait!. head there early or eat there late and avoid peak times. otherwise be prepared to wait. the food is well-thought out with small details such as rosemary in the chips or bircher with stewed and fresh fruit. the ingredients are fresh and seasonal. the coffee is sublime and the atmosphere is casual and laid-back surry hills. you get all of this for less than $15 a main for brekky and lunch. the attraction is reasonable prices for great food. i might add that the attraction in the window is a zumbo's delicious brownies and pastries too!

excellent busy hipster cafe. we got here slightly after 12pm on a saturday and only waited a short 1 or 2min. line grew much longer after that. very hipster cafe with good service. space is tight but that's part of the charm. my friend who had coffee said it was good and strong, better than the book kitchen and reuben hills which we went to after. banana smoothie ($7.50) is large and topped with cinnamon, i normally don't like cinnamon but i think it went well with the drink. french toast stuffed with banana is a yum sweet brekkie choice. homemade creamed corn with poached eggs is also unique, the creamed corn is pretty good.

the name of the cafe refers to their street number, it took me a while to figure it out…haha. we requested a table outside on the pavement as the inside looked a bit dingy, but you had people stand right by and watch you eat. the best dish i had here was the tomato based moroccan egg bake with chorizo; the smoked salmon bagel was not bad either. you definitely need to try the snickers milk shake, omg it tasted just like snickers. waiting is almost inevitable but it's worth the wait!
