excellent busy hipster cafe. we got here slightly after 12pm on a saturday and only waited a short 1 or 2min. line grew much longer after that. very hipstercafewith good service. space is tight but that's part of the charm. my friend who had coffee said it was good and strong, better than the book kitchen and reuben hills which we went to after. banana smoothie ($7.50) is large and topped with cinnamon, i normally don't like cinnamon but i think it went well with the drink. french toast stuffed with banana is a yum sweet brekkie choice. homemade creamed corn with poached eggs is also unique, the creamed corn is pretty good.

the name of thecaferefers to their street number, it took me a while to figure it out…haha. we requested a table outside on the pavement as the inside looked a bit dingy, but you had people stand right by and watch you eat. the best dish i had here was the tomato based moroccan egg bake with chorizo; the smoked salmon bagel was not bad either. you definitely need to try the snickers milk shake, omg it tasted just like snickers. waiting is almost inevitable but it's worth the wait!

felt the need to have porridge for a few last times before the warmer weather kicks in and muesli is my go to again! this one had a very different flavour than i’ve had before - i think it was the cherry compote! cute littlecafein surry hills for a nice meal to start off a big day!

pictured is the cardamom and vanilla rice porridge (spiced cherry compote and toasted nut crumble) & skim latte

probably the bestcafein surry hills! great buzzing location on crown st. i’ve been here numerous times & love it each visit.
first time we came there was a lengthy table wait on a saturday brunch, but it was worth it. my friend got the weekend special dish & i got the lamb baked eggs with mint yoghurt, which was such a unique and amazing dish! i overheard the waiters chatting about how it’s exactly what to eat if you’re in a food coma which is so accurate lol
the servings are generous, flavours are complex & it’s just overall hearty filling super tasty real food. the coffee is also excellent, and was served super quickly. very smooth and strong.
i usually stop by before going to the library from a cappuccino here because it’s so great.
it has the quintessential surry hills vibe; very aesthetic, trendy, minimalistic, & full of interesting quirky folks.
one of the occasions i went though, there was an extremely rude & snarky blonde male waiter who had some serious passive aggressive issues & clearly thought he was in some kind of reality show. i haven’t seen him since though so hopefully he’s been let go. made the experience unpleasant

overall awesome place & amazing value for money

judging by the crowds we encountered while eating there - there was a small queue out the front at peak lunch hour - four ate five looks to be a firm and reliable favourite among locals and sydney brunch-lovers. the vibe is cosy and friendly, and it's the perfect place to go if you're in the mood for acafethat delivers wholesome, tasty food with a bit of a twist.

four ate five is a very popular littlecafein surry hills, very busy, trendy and healthy. this is my current number one breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. four ate five is my favourite for multiple reasons; first of all they make great coffee. second of all, they make amazing smoothies and juices and they also sell kambucha. the food is absolutely delicious! roasted toamt and avo dish and also baked eggs are an absolite must try! highly recommend.  full review on my blog

not sure as to why thiscafeis so talked about and loved - the food is generally expensive, basic and meanly proportioned. the coffee is good and the food is passable, however i'd skip this one and save your dollars.

walked pass this littlecafeon the way to messina. my friend told me the coffee here was very popular. so i stopped by and had a cold drip. very refreshing, naturally pleasantly sweet, not overly bitter or sour, just the way i like it.
the staff was friendly.
would like to go back to try the food.

decided to stop here on a whim and glad we did. this littlecafehas a very solid selection of food and drink, all reasonably priced and generous in size. i went for the pulled pork sandwich at $13 and thought it was probably the best i've ever had. we also ordered the hand cut chips that were very tasty. service was friendly and the food came out promptly.
four are five was a great chance visit. we'll definitely be back again.
