one of the first restaurants i visited in surry hills . lovely suburb ! lovely restaurant! lovely service ! i liked the seating arrangement as well , most tables are joined together and gives you a feeling of one big group!😊
we had a sandwich , the toast was a bit too hard but the filling was dish ! also had the moroccan style eggs , they were the best i've ever had . delicious with a good hit of spice . had the chai latte as well , but it had too much cinnamon.

i will return ! great experience !

i can't wait to visit this cafe again and sample some of their other tasty treats. here the food is the hero with numerous delicious sweet and savoury choices. they have some lovely gluten free options and my coffee was perfect. with so much competition on this street this cafe hits the mark!

walked pass this little cafe on the way to messina. my friend told me the coffee here was very popular. so i stopped by and had a cold drip. very refreshing, naturally pleasantly sweet, not overly bitter or sour, just the way i like it.
the staff was friendly.
would like to go back to try the food.

the cunningly named four ate five (its address is 485 crown st!) is no stranger to the brunch scene. for years i have seen queues upon queues of people outside this small establishment. there must be some reason for all the buzz, right? it was a beautiful and warm saturday morning and all were out to play. there were mums with kids, friends and couples, and dogs. lots and lots of dogs(!!!). the parade of dogs made time pass much quicker during our 15 or so minute wait for a table. over the years, four ate five have seem to have perfected their baked eggs recipe. perhaps they're one of the few places that served baked eggs before it became a "thing"?

i've been here a couple of times.. the food is decent. the kumera chips are amazing ! i saw someone else order them and had to try them.

i've had the signature salad and the pulled pork sandwich. both were nice.

it gets quite busy, especially on weekends. the coffee is decent. not burnt like most places.

would recommend for brunch.

brilliant food, friendly service, great juices and a local favorite in the sea of cafes in surry hills 😊 "the 485" comes with boiled eggs, hummous, marinated feta, pilpelchuma (chilli paste), red cabbage, israeli pickles, radish, chopped salad and fresh bagel 😉
proudly serving single origin coffee ☕

the service is a little slow - even at 7am on a weekday morning - but i think their wagyu burger is really awesome. too crowded on the weekends but def worth it mid week for lunch or breakfast.

this place has strong brunch game. i love anywhere with an all day breakfast and the bircher museli with seasonal fruit did not disappoint. i particularly liked the creamy oats with crunchy nuts folded in. hubs had the pulled pork burger as we were really having lunch rather than breakfast (oops!). the burger was succulent and saucy and the pickled carrots were on point.

those chips though. hand cut and delicious. run, don't walk.

decided to stop here on a whim and glad we did. this little cafe has a very solid selection of food and drink, all reasonably priced and generous in size. i went for the pulled pork sandwich at $13 and thought it was probably the best i've ever had. we also ordered the hand cut chips that were very tasty. service was friendly and the food came out promptly.
four are five was a great chance visit. we'll definitely be back again.

came here for brunch on the weekend. small cafe usually with a crowd waiting for a table outside. food tastes as good as it looks, service is good and efficient. tried the french toast and baked eggs, both really flavoursome and fresh. wouldn't recommend coming in a party greater than 4 as they don't take bookings and could be a long wait for a table.

came at 11:30 and was lucky enough to grab an outdoor seat where it wasn't cramped and had a breeze after a 5-10 minute wait. the wagyu meatballs, 3 cheese melt and rocket sandwich was filling however hard to eat by hand. the bread at the bottom was soggy due to the the sauces however the bread on top was crispy and had melted cheese on it and drizzled in olive oil. the sandwich altogether wasn't great but was very filling. personally didn't like the rocket in the sandwich or the olive oil.
