disappointing. we had breakfast here in january and loved it so we returned upon our current visit to sydney (may, 2015). baked eggs undercooked and relatively flavourless. kale, chorizo and fried eggs also disappointing. the eggs were undercooked, chorizo of poor quality and most likely boiled (?). the food was so bad in comparison to meals in january that we assume the place has changed owners/management. we left dissatisfied, plates barely touched and found brunch elsewhere.

bottom line: wasn't impressed, but maybe i need to give it another try? people love this place, but either i ordered the wrong thing or everyone is a liar. there is always a crowd of people surrounding this place on crown street awaiting a table. be came in for lunch a little later in the day so we luckily didn't have to wait for a table. the staff is super friendly and lovely, but i was not all the impressed with my meal. i ordered the pulled pork sandwich. i don't like mayonnaise (i know...i know - i'm nuts), but i forgot to order it without mayo so i ate around the mayo smothered side of the bread. i guess my idea of a pulled pork sandwich is shredded pork, smothered in bbq sauce, maybe some caramelized onions in there, all atop a delicious soft bun. this was not that. it was shredded pork, with lettuce and tomato. and it was dry. really dry. i suppose they serve it with mayo to mask the dryness... mckay had the steak sandwich, which he liked just fine. i didn't try it because, of c

lovely cafe! the food is delicious, the staff is friendly. what more can you ask. a little gem. i will be back with pleasure

great coffee, great food and great service!
the benedict was 10/10 for us (although one of my friends found it a bit acidic). the shakshuka flavour was 👌 but was vegetarian and didn’t have optional chorizo selection on the side even.... which is a bit strange. bircher muesli was fresh and tasty too.
only downside is the price for the portion.... quite expensive for what you get to be honest, both for food and for coffee 🤔
but tasty enough that i’d go back again ✌️

we’ve been wanting to come here for so long. we finally made it and it was not a disappointment. loved the lamb baked eggs with the crispy bread on the side. the fruit juice (we go apple, orange and ginger) was super refreshing and the snickers milkshake was so worth every calorie. dishes were fulfilling and the prices were not bad. service was also great. highly recommended.

service was friendly and prompt. the food was delicious. the lamb baked eggs was very fulfilling and had heaps of flavour. the brekkie board was also delicious, the hummus was fragrant and well spiced. i also loved the falafel, it was dense yet moist and full of flavour. would love to come back and try the other foods along with their coffee.

a nice little place for brunch. i really enjoyed the frenchie, it was excellent - a flavourful dish 😍 i tried some of the fries and loved them, it was covered in so many spices which was tasty. friendly service and generous portions. it was quite busy when we got there but we were lucky a table was made available for our party of 6.

felt the need to have porridge for a few last times before the warmer weather kicks in and muesli is my go to again! this one had a very different flavour than i’ve had before - i think it was the cherry compote! cute little cafe in surry hills for a nice meal to start off a big day!

had this pasty also, vegan cashew cheese cake.
surprisingly i love this cheese cake.
this deadly combo cost me $10, but it was worth every penny.

i had the weekend special quinoa bowl and although it was quite naturally oily and looked a bit gooey, it tasted amazing!! will definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

surry hills is always a good place to find great breakfast or brunch. service is good, great french toast with that amazing maple serup! not a big place but really nice food and service

probably the best cafe in surry hills! great buzzing location on crown st. i’ve been here numerous times & love it each visit.
first time we came there was a lengthy table wait on a saturday brunch, but it was worth it. my friend got the weekend special dish & i got the lamb baked eggs with mint yoghurt, which was such a unique and amazing dish! i overheard the waiters chatting about how it’s exactly what to eat if you’re in a food coma which is so accurate lol
the servings are generous, flavours are complex & it’s just overall hearty filling super tasty real food. the coffee is also excellent, and was served super quickly. very smooth and strong.
i usually stop by before going to the library from a cappuccino here because it’s so great.
it has the quintessential surry hills vibe; very aesthetic, trendy, minimalistic, & full of interesting quirky folks.
one of the occasions i went though, there was an extremely rude & snarky blonde male waiter who had some serious passive aggressive issues & clearly thought he was in some kind of reality show. i haven’t seen him since though so hopefully he’s been let go. made the experience unpleasant

overall awesome place & amazing value for money

tried this place with the mr when he’s in town and it’s so good. i enjoyed my shakshuka wasn’t in the pic but similar to the lamb pot. taste is amazing with the half cooked egg so nice and filling. the pita bread is soft but a tad oily and that’s ok since it’s winter need that winter grease.

service is amazing. such friendly staffs and quick too. super thumbs up. gonna go back again for more. my winter warmers
