fire birds needs to learn customer service skills!. i used to work here about 2 years ago, i know how amazing the food is from working here and being in customer service for 7 years. obviously the managerment and staff are as immature as the 16 years old host are and on valentines day decide to delete me from the reservation list. i understand if you do not like me, but after the day i quit iam a paying customer i believe the manager has no right to delete me from the list and if so not on valentine's day! i would like for firebirds to e mail me about this serious manner at jboggs913@gmail.com i would call but my job now requres alot of my hours during the day. so please fire birds get back to me.

shards of glass in beer. my husband had shards of glass in his beer. he almost swallowed one. they did nothing other than offer him a free beer.

go to place for steak and for a date night!. i will pass over shula's anyday for firebirds. excellent steaks and incredible service. everything we have ever had on the menu has been fantastic. don't turn your nose up due to it being a chain (and a very small chain at that) and just enjoy some very high quality and well prepared food.

they changed the recipes, menu and upped the prices. ordered a favorite california chicken salad. and was disappointed it came with a hunk of hot weirdly spiced chicken breast plopped on top instead of the cold version as before. disappointed and not going back.

not worth the monet.. was there a couple of times when it first opened and it was great. food, service, everything.
went there tonight. a saturday night and sat at the bar. wine was good but over priced. bartenders were more involved with each other's and staff's plans for the evening than there customers. one entree came out 5 minutes before the second. steaks were so so. nothing to write home about or to recommend for a anyone to go out for.
the front of store manager didn't seem to care about any of the customers and the rest of the staff, like a lot of restaurants, like to hang around the bar and talk. makes for a not very nice experience.
so for a $100 bucks for 2. not worth it. won't go back again.

excellent customer service. the other evening my husband and i had dinner at a favorite restaurant of ours, firebirds. my husband ordered a new york strip and unfortunately it was a very tough, chewy steak. he did not complain about his meal until the manager, mike warner, appeared at our table to question how our meal was. at that point, my husband shared his dissatisfaction with his steak. mike apologized and offered to fix him another steak which my husband refused, as he had already eaten half of it. mike asked him several times if he could replace the meal. after leaving the table, mike came back to us and we could tell that mike wanted to correct the mistake and then offered him dessert which we refused. at this point, mike stated that the only way to correct this situation was to take the meal off our bill. of course, we were very satisfied with this decision and then we shared with mike that we appreciated this, as we frequent this restaurant often. we will continue to dine at firebirds and appreciate the outstanding customer service that mike warner displayed that evening.

disappointment. i've been going to firebirds for years based on positive experiences. the last time i went, they ran out of baked potatos (how do you do that at a steakhouse on a week night)? i have noticed a downhill progression in the quality of food and preparation over the last year. not sure what's happening or if it's just this location.

worth the time and effort. 6 of us walked in at 7pm with no reservation. we were told there was a 10 min wait. we were seated in less time. service was great and our server had a great sense of humor. i ordered a burger and it was great. this place is a keeper

what a find in a chain for op!. a weeknight visit to firebird wood fired grill proved to be the right choice. seated promptly, greeted promptly by our server sarah, we were impressed with the décor and the charm of this casual upscale eatery. while not on the low end of price points for a chain restaurant, it is definitely a place to go for a special occasion. we shared the crab cake app with a delicious mango salsa that had subtle heat, paired with a lightly dressed fresh cole slaw salad, and the crab cakes were perfectly cooked and chock full of crab. our entrees arrived shortly after that, and were perfectly cooked and seasoned. the prime rib entrée had to be well over the 12 ounce portion, and was moist and tender. the filet mignon was presented at just the right temperature, although perhaps just a little heavy on the pepper in the seasoning, nonetheless as good a steak as i've had anywhere in the kc metro area (and i've had quite a few). save room for dessert-the flourless chocolate cake is awesome! for an eatery that isn't yet a year old i hope that fwg will continue to attract the crowd and deliver the quality of food that will make it a go to destination for overland park diners

firebirds durham nc. used to be my fav spot since i moved to nc. last fall they changed their caesar recipe and took what was outstanding down to mediocre, and the filet mignon seems to have lost it's zing as well. went back a few times but it was the same, but tonight was the last straw. my partner and i went for supper, thought we'd give it a try one more time. we and ordered the same meal, and at one point chatted with one of our former regular waiters, great guy btw as most servers there are, and we talked about the changes over the salad. had our entree and wine, and went out for a short walk on the promenade there right after. right away i could feel something wasn't right... i've this happen before, albeit once in a blue moon... something in the food had been tainted. we live 5 minutes away, and i made it home in time for a violent reaction. maybe it was something unclean, maybe it was the comment about the changes... and thank god my partner was ok, but a brutal reaction to the food is what i had, and i'll not go back again. too bad... used to be amazing.

bar smells bad. what ever cleaning spray they use smell like dirty gym socks. decided not to eat it smelled so bad.

excellent food and service. we have chosen firebirds several times for lunch and dinner. always excellent service and trying different items from the menu, we have never been disappointed. last night we went between
4-6:00 and for $14.95 i had a beautiful steak, loaded baked potato and a hand tossed salad. fantastic atmosphere and did i say the service is the best? it's like going to an expensive restaurant with reasonable prices. oh, try the burgers! they are perfect.

poor customer service. we came in before two other customers, but they were seated before us. the manager proclaim ed it was an over site, said next time he will try to get us in with no wait. we will not be back. food was mediocre ribs were charred for almost 30 bucks broccoli raw i could go on and on. the restaurant smiles like a dirty mop.

great for birthdays. a little late writing this review but we ate dinner for a friends birthday a couple of months ago - i had never been to firebirds. i admit i avoid the galleria and surrounding areas, im more of a southside/downtown girl. the restaurant was full and had a really good vibe to it. we were seated at a round table in the middle of the restaurant. we had cocktails to start - drink service was a little slow, then we moved to switch to wine - i brought in a bottle of silver oak as a birthday happy and was told i could not bring it in. after persistently asking our server to please check with the manager to make sure they didnt/did have a corkage fee/policy she finally did, and yes they do allow it! however she refused to decant it and wouldnt pour it until i had finished my bourbon. if i remember correctly i poured the wine for the table. this is my only complaint and is 100% a training issue. the rest of the dinner was fantastic - we all had something different - salmon, filet, strip, surf and turf, and i had the prime rib. everything was cooked perfectly including the delicious sides. we had birthday cake for dessert and shared with the staff - some even came to the table to say thank you, they gave our birthday guest a signed birthday card which was a nice touch - very impressive. overall it was an excellent dinner.
