my favoriteplaceever. when i go out for an awesome meal this is where i go. i love the blue cheese filet with port mushrooms and blt salad. always must order the lobster queso. and the double black diamond martini is to die for. i'd probably suggest two and give it a moment to figure out if you need any more. i have only been here twice when the service was not up to the normal phenomenal standard, and i go here a lot. oh yeah, my husband really loves the salmon too...

great experience. the food tasted just the way is supposed to. a $30 rib eye should taste like a $30 rib eye, and this one did. my wife order the couscous (at a steak house, she is weird like that) and i hate to admit that it was delicious, as well as the other sides. i am happy to pay a few extra dollars for this kind of food and service. when in need of fantastic meat and bourbon to fulfill your soulless heart and empty your wallet, this is theplaceto go.

restaurant under some major management changes that have made significant improvements in the quality and consistency of their product. i love firebirds, i have eaten at multiple locations in multiple areas and this one used to be my least favorite. revisiting made me very pleased. my favorite dish is the wood grilled salmon or the prime rib. the spinach salad is also heavenly and the chocolate cake is sinful. i highly recommend giving thisplacea chance if you had a bad experience a few months ago or if you've never had a chance to drink a double black diamond martini alongside your delicious meal.

firebird's is fine. good even.  food is good, service is good, atmosphere is good.  we visited because we've never been and it is less than 10 minutes from our house.  there is absolutely nothing wrong with this place. but for me, there is not much difference between thisplaceand an outback.  which is not a knock - i like outback just fine! but at outback we can get out of there with a similar dinner for a much lower price.  i am more than happy to splurge on a nice dinner, but for the price of our ticket we could have easily gone to one of the better, local restaurants and had something really spectacular instead of the good, but typical, food we had at firebirds.

so i don't usually eat at chain restaurants but i was tired and thisplacewas close to the hotel. when i am tired my expectations go up because i am not in the mood to be unhappy too. :) i say all that to let you know this; if you are tired, thisplacehits the spot ( so maybe you don't have to be tired to enjoy). service was fast and polite, and that helps if your tired. i sat at the bar, so that was a roll of the dice, but barkeeps were on point. i had a glass of duckhorn and it went well with my medium rare prime rib. which was an 8 on a 10 scale. they give you a knife but you don't need it and the pepper flavor was perfect. no mineral or iron flavor at all. my neighbors had the smoked chicken sandwich and the cedar plank salmon and raved about it but my pr looked better but taste rules. if i see one of these places again and need a good -fast prime rib. i am all over it, unless i am too tired ;).

we had a group of 16 including, 2 young children, so we were forced to sit on the patio. after we all ordered, it began to rain so we had to move inside. the manager came over and said we would have to wait  45 mins to be seated.  he said "look, you took a chance sitting outside. there isn't anything else i can do"
no apology whatsoever.
 he said they will scrap our orders and re-cook since we had to wait. after we were seated they brought out of meals quickly.  my steak was cold and over cooked. this tells me they did not scrap out orders. they just sent out cold meals that had been in the window for 45 mins.  i canceled my meal all together. the manager never came over to discuss my canceled order.  they brought out free desserts to make up. still no apology from anyone on staff. 
our waiter was great. i tipped him $20 on a meal i didn't eat. i will not return because of that manager.  what a joke thatplaceis. spend your money somewhere else.

zack is the best. celebrated 2 birthdays 10 dinners and it couldn't have been better. everyone raved about good there meal tasted. what really made it work out so well was zack our server. very attentive from when we arrived drinks, appetizers and main course. sure was a good time. the best prime rib in kansas city.

braved the snow..... we made our first visit during the snow storm last night .they had the parking lot clean as a whistle. you get is warm felling the moment you get thru the door which was opened by a hostess. thisplaceis very well done .our 6:30 reservation was ready and jr and his grew took very good care of our table of six .i had the prime rib special ....perfectly prepared yum yum yummy .everyone of in our party loved the food and service. this will be one our go to restaurants .

go toplacefor steak and for a date night!. i will pass over shula's anyday for firebirds. excellent steaks and incredible service. everything we have ever had on the menu has been fantastic. don't turn your nose up due to it being a chain (and a very small chain at that) and just enjoy some very high quality and well prepared food.

worth the time and effort. 6 of us walked in at 7pm with no reservation. we were told there was a 10 min wait. we were seated in less time. service was great and our server had a great sense of humor. i ordered a burger and it was great. thisplaceis a keeper

what a find in a chain for op!. a weeknight visit to firebird wood fired grill proved to be the right choice. seated promptly, greeted promptly by our server sarah, we were impressed with the décor and the charm of this casual upscale eatery. while not on the low end of price points for a chain restaurant, it is definitely aplaceto go for a special occasion. we shared the crab cake app with a delicious mango salsa that had subtle heat, paired with a lightly dressed fresh cole slaw salad, and the crab cakes were perfectly cooked and chock full of crab. our entrees arrived shortly after that, and were perfectly cooked and seasoned. the prime rib entrée had to be well over the 12 ounce portion, and was moist and tender. the filet mignon was presented at just the right temperature, although perhaps just a little heavy on the pepper in the seasoning, nonetheless as good a steak as i've had anywhere in the kc metro area (and i've had quite a few). save room for dessert-the flourless chocolate cake is awesome! for an eatery that isn't yet a year old i hope that fwg will continue to attract the crowd and deliver the quality of food that will make it a go to destination for overland park diners

fred. this was at one time our favoriteplaceto go, however it has been taken off our list and will not ever go back. several months ago went and had a bad experience, contacted corporate which sent me gift cards (dumb me let them expire before using) anyway went saturday before last at 7:30, we like to sit in the bar area to people watch. ordered long island ice teas and they were terrible, looked like a lemon aid. duh! and suppose to have little booze taste. anyway manager came out and i explained to him. but said i was going to drink them anyway. still they were on my bill. a professional manager would have had new ones brought to us.

awesome steak!. thisplaceknows how to cook a rare steak! pricey and expect a wait during peak hours, but it is worth it!

solid service + solid burger = winner. 3-3-14 lunch
dined with a group of 5. solid service, attentive without being annoying. iced tea never went empty. the lobster quest and ranch rings are great apps. everyone enjoyed their meals. durango burger was excellent and massive. i recommended the brussell sprouts while they are still available; excellent alternative veggie choice. lots of natural light in thisplacewhich is a nice change from some of their neighboring establishments who want you to eat in the dark. worth a return visit or two.

wonderfulplaceto eat. the service and food are always good. my only negatives would be how loud theplaceis. very noisy and almost impossible to speak comfortably with one another and if you make a reservation you should be seated at that time and not 15 minutes later than.
