nice!. our start wasn't perfect as we had a reservation and chose a table on the patio. waited quite sometimefor anyone to speak to us until we asked a manager for help. several servers walked past us many times without speaking. once we had a server, he was very nice and helpful. clam chowder was delicious and the blt salad was good with yummy, smokey bacon. cocktails seem a little slow to come out but the food moved quickly. fabulous, perfectly cooked ribeye with wonderful seasoning. i had the prime rib which sadly was over cooked and not quite warm. i like a perfect medium rare and oddly, i was told that if you want medium rare there, it wouldn't be hot and closer to cold. strange since i get good med rare prime rib everywhere else hot? the manager came over and apologized and they promptly brought me another which was really good and cooked to perfect medium rare. very tender and seasoned just right. their green beans were a real surprise and absolutely amazing! finally, we had the banana cream pie that is to die for! hot chocolate sauce and caramel and creamy, wonderful goodness. i would recommend this place..they are still working out the "new" bugs but the food was terrific! thanks to the manager for taking my entree off the bill too which wasn't necessary since i gobbled the second one up! cheers!

dined here last night. the food was excellent and the service was also extremely good (our server was alexandra). the manager (alisa) went above and beyond to make our evening extra memorable and the head chef (ken) also tooktimeto talk to our sons and make them feel special. i strongly recommend firebirds. their food is amazing, it is kid-friendly with one of the best kids menus in town. it is great for a date night and also a night out with the family.

in town for a customer visit. passed up firebird wood fired grill for cheesecake factory lasttimein town. the aromatic smell from the grill was beckoning a visit. my goodness, dinner was fantastic. dinner could have been the blt salad alone. prime rib was perfectly seasoned and cooked. my customer had the spinach salad and aged ribeye. both were great! service was wonderful. i will definitely be back to sample other entrees on the menu that caught my eye. very much worth the visit.

we took our friends out for their 45th anniversary and had a wonderfultimeat firebirds. stephanie was our waitress. she was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. she was always right there if we needed something but not intrusive. we had the blt salad which tasted just like a well made blt sandwich. there were 3 steaks ordered and a rack of ribs. each of our steaks were cooked to perfection and the ribs fell off the bone. our sides were asparagus, garlic spinach and grilled vegetables each seasoned and cooked with care. our drinks came very quickly. the bar is a well stocked with everything you could want. we had coffee after dinner and it tasted as good as it smelled. the staff kept moving all of thetimeand we felt like we were treated royally. we will defiantly go back.

what a unique experience. this restaurant might be small but it packs a punch. my firsttimeexperiencing a dim sum kind of restaurant. you can order off the menu or you can just select dishes that are presented to your table, it is like the sushi boat. so neat to see the food before selecting it. the service was excellent, very knowledgeable and attentive. the food was delicious. the ones that stood out was the nectarines with cheese and basil oil- this simple fish had complex flavors that wowed the plat and was hands down my favorite. the heirloom toast, duck moose, chard octopus, and salmon tartar are all must haves. can't wait to come back and try new things!

awesome food and service!. we always have a greattimehere. the food is absolutely the best. love the fire grilled flavor.

disappointment. i've been going to firebirds for years based on positive experiences. the lasttimei went, they ran out of baked potatos (how do you do that at a steakhouse on a week night)? i have noticed a downhill progression in the quality of food and preparation over the last year. not sure what's happening or if it's just this location.

worth thetimeand effort. 6 of us walked in at 7pm with no reservation. we were told there was a 10 min wait. we were seated in less time. service was great and our server had a great sense of humor. i ordered a burger and it was great. this place is a keeper

firebirds durham nc. used to be my fav spot since i moved to nc. last fall they changed their caesar recipe and took what was outstanding down to mediocre, and the filet mignon seems to have lost it's zing as well. went back a few times but it was the same, but tonight was the last straw. my partner and i went for supper, thought we'd give it a try one more time. we and ordered the same meal, and at one point chatted with one of our former regular waiters, great guy btw as most servers there are, and we talked about the changes over the salad. had our entree and wine, and went out for a short walk on the promenade there right after. right away i could feel something wasn't right... i've this happen before, albeit once in a blue moon... something in the food had been tainted. we live 5 minutes away, and i made it home intimefor a violent reaction. maybe it was something unclean, maybe it was the comment about the changes... and thank god my partner was ok, but a brutal reaction to the food is what i had, and i'll not go back again. too bad... used to be amazing.

poor customer service. we came in before two other customers, but they were seated before us. the manager proclaim ed it was an over site, said nexttimehe will try to get us in with no wait. we will not be back. food was mediocre ribs were charred for almost 30 bucks broccoli raw i could go on and on. the restaurant smiles like a dirty mop.

great service, gross food!. ordered a take out order on saturday night. went in and picked it up. super friendly staff! held a conversation with the bartender while i waited for my food to be ready. was beyond disappointed when i got home and found they had boxed my sweet potato fries and cilantro chicken together. it made the fries completely inedible mush and found two pieces of grit in my chicken. gross! not what i was expecting for my firsttimevisit. might go back and have a drink since the staff is so nice but wouldn't be able to stomach eating there again!

fred. this was at onetimeour favorite place to go, however it has been taken off our list and will not ever go back. several months ago went and had a bad experience, contacted corporate which sent me gift cards (dumb me let them expire before using) anyway went saturday before last at 7:30, we like to sit in the bar area to people watch. ordered long island ice teas and they were terrible, looked like a lemon aid. duh! and suppose to have little booze taste. anyway manager came out and i explained to him. but said i was going to drink them anyway. still they were on my bill. a professional manager would have had new ones brought to us.

sooooo, this past saturday i was invited to a birthday party for my stylist. she tried to reserve a party for 15, but was told that they could only do reservations for 10 and as other guest came in that they would accommodate. there were 7 guest waiting and drinking at the bar @ 6 because they would not seat anyone until the guest arrived. when they seated us, they put us at a very tiny table near the kitchen. the table was not big enough to accommodate multiple menus without them overlapping. they told her that they would text her when her +10 guest arrived so that they could seat them with us. when they showed up within 10 minutes, they made us move from one table to another.

the second table wasn't large enough either. however, there was a booth right behind the table that was just enough room for all the guest. after the overflow of guest sat at the booth, a waitress walked over & told them that they could not sit there. the waitress proceeded to argue with the guest at the booth, and eventually stormed off to the pregnant hostess. she walked over to my stylist, the birthday woman, and told her that her overflow of guest would have to go on a 45 minute waiting list before they could be seated with the party. the hostess eventually just told us that they could not accommodate a party of 18. so they decided to let us walk out.

this is my 2ndtimereceiving the worst customer service at this restaurant. i won't be back...at least at this location.

love it. went to firebirds for my firsttimethis week. it was absolutely amazing! i had the fresh cut bacon wrapped filet with a baked potato. my steak was perfectly cooked and tender, my friend had the sesame salmon and absolutely loved it. best steak and salmon either of us have had in a while. key lime pie for dessert was fabulous. and great service from kelly. we will definitely be back, so happy you opened here.

wonderful place to eat. the service and food are always good. my only negatives would be how loud the place is. very noisy and almost impossible to speak comfortably with one another and if you make a reservation you should be seated at thattimeand not 15 minutes later than.
