dependable, but not great. doc taylor's is the kind of place that can quickly become a favorite -- and therein is the problem. theserviceis frendly, and competent. the food is all of the breakfast faves, plus some (quiche, chipped beef, ray ray, etc.) competently prepared. the drink specials (screwdrivers, b marys, greyhounds, mimosas) are good, and value priced.

so what's wrong? two -- first, the menu hasn't changed in years -- no new specials, no changes (just like what change adverse h roads demands). second, the beach location, and funky charm, means the place is packed in the summer. waits of up to an hour can be encountered. so either go in the off season, or ...

doc taylor's is a really cool beach joint. i stopped in here to meet with a client over coffee and breakfast. i must say i was pleasantly surprised. theservicewas very good. the atmosphere is very low key and laid back. the food was phenomenal. i had the eggs benedict. the hollandaise is fresh and the eggs were spot on. i really liked this place. i wish i had snapped some pics but couldn't because i was there in a meeting. but good news is i'm going to try and stop in next week again and hope to take some winners. done here with assurance. good eats, and cool atmosphere. nice job doc taylor's!

my new favorite breakfast place! i ordered "the stroke" and it was perfect! eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, toast! all for $7! they are very accommodating and quick with their food orders!servicewas great! just an fyi, their building looks like a house. no signs or anything so it was a little tricky to find.

based on the reviews i had high expectations which fell woefully short. the omelet was a little rough. the avocado was starting to brown and the chicken was overcooked and simply put, bland and disappointing. the granola pancakes were definitely good and worth trying but they weren't outstanding like i was expected. they are basically good quality pancakes with granola sprinkled in at the end which sits on top. everything else was just ok. theservicewas great and it had the feel of a hidden gem with great ambiance, just not the taste. maybe it was an off day or ordered the wrong items.

hurry up and wait. i have only "dined in" once here. the last time i went by to check on the wait, it was at 4 hours. i ended up getting my food to go, which came out in record time. why would anyone wait that long for some breakfast? i admit that the food is good, but theservicei am unsure about. i will continue to get my food to go, which means no tip for the servers from me, until the wait time comes back down to something a little more reasonable.

great food horribleservicefrom my waitress. i'm a new local in the area, originally from fla. i had breakfast here (which was great), but theservicewas not at all. if you come here, do not be seated with kelly or kelley (whatever). she was very rude, short with me, forgot things and not attentive. i also felt compelled from eating after noticing her nails were dirty and smelling the reek of "last nights" alcohol. the wait was pretty long too, hopefully one day they can expand.

awesome breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. first of all, $1.99 bloodys, mimosas, greyhounds, etc- you just can't beat that. the breakfast is my favorite, but expect to wait.. but the wait is actually fun with those $1.99 cocktails! a lot of people love the "ray ray" but you i get something different each time.

good brunch.... this is my second favorite breakfast spot behind citrus (citrus is a rare gem...). the food is excellent and theserviceis usually on point. expect a wait during the summer weekends, but having a bloody/mimosa on the side patio makes the wait a breeze...

rider eater. food andservicevery good and at reasonable prices -- comfy homey atmosphere -- was there off season in late morning and still had over a 30 minute wait -- thankfully they have a comfy place right next door with free coffee and other to-pay-for drinks for inside waiting -- open only for breakfast and lunch -- so, unless you know exactly when to go, then be prepared, in season or out, for a lenghty wait, after probably having to walk 2 to 3 blocks from your parking spot -- definitely a favorite of the locals living year round at the beach.
