i recommend planning a stop at doc taylor’s on your trip to virginia beach. it is located a bit off the boardwalk, but worth the drive or walk. you get a lot of great, homemade food for your money. now, if they just moved this restaurant to the boardwalk with some ocean views it would be perfect! doc taylor’s is a breakfast and lunch local hotspot located near the boardwalk in virginia beach, virginia. this restaurant was packed on a weekday morning and seems to be very popular with the locals. most tourists probably wouldn’t think of visiting this restaurant as it is located a few blocks from the boardwalk. however, this was the best breakfast during our vacation to virginia beach! food this restaurant offered agoodmix between traditional breakfast items and healthy items. they also had many items that you do not traditionally find on breakfast menus. i went with the vegetarian quiche, served with fresh fruit. the quiche was fantastic. my boyfriend ordered a southwest breakfast burr

doc taylor's is a really cool beach joint. i stopped in here to meet with a client over coffee and breakfast. i must say i was pleasantly surprised. the service was very good. the atmosphere is very low key and laid back. the food was phenomenal. i had the eggs benedict. the hollandaise is fresh and the eggs were spot on. i really liked this place. i wish i had snapped some pics but couldn't because i was there in a meeting. butgoodnews is i'm going to try and stop in next week again and hope to take some winners. done here with assurance.goodeats, and cool atmosphere. nice job doc taylor's!

favorite breakfast spot!. the downside of doc taylor's is that unless you get there super early (especially on a weekend, which is the only time i can go), it's usually a wait. thankfully, they have prettygoodoutdoor seating and great bloody marys to pass the time while you wait for a table.

if you like "greasy spoon" type breakfast spots, as i do, this place is great. my husband first found out about it last year and raved howgoodit was (since our formerly favorite greasy spoon breakfast spot seems to have closed down...). it did not disappoint! great diner style breakfasts, but everything is always made beautifully and tastes great. i usually stick to something egg related, though i'm itching to try on of their pancakes. while none of the breakfast menu items are particularly "weight conscious", they do have a few lighter options for those that are looking for it. but honestly, when i go here i pile up on the toast, bacon (which i normally don't eat) and hash browns!

the atmosphere on a typical weekend morning is usually loud and crowded: packed with locals and hung-over tourists alike. parking it out back and during the height of the season they give you a tag for parking. it's usually packed too, so be aware it can be a bit exciting to navigate if you have a larger vehicle.

the food was prettygoodbut our server was horrible. i asked her if i could substitute hash browns for bacon in my meal and she said yes but failed to mention there was an up charge. she dropped our food off and quickly walked away without asking if we needed anything else. we waited for her to come back so we could ask for some hot sauce but she never came back. we finished our meal and literally sat there for 15 minutes until we had to get out of our seat and walk up to her to ask for our check. oh and it was 730 in the morning and we were one of the only ones in there. we won't be coming back due to the service.

based on the reviews i had high expectations which fell woefully short. the omelet was a little rough. the avocado was starting to brown and the chicken was overcooked and simply put, bland and disappointing. the granola pancakes were definitelygoodand worth trying but they weren't outstanding like i was expected. they are basicallygoodquality pancakes with granola sprinkled in at the end which sits on top. everything else was just ok. the service was great and it had the feel of a hidden gem with great ambiance, just not the taste. maybe it was an off day or ordered the wrong items.

local girl. so the term local girl isn't referencing vab local girl, i'm a local hawaiian displaced here in wonderful vab. my sunday fun day, started at 8am with the girls and along with my bloody mary, i ordered a short stack of banana pancakes! ono! thats right,,, not oh no! but ono, a local hawaiian slang term used for yummy!
doc taylors, hit the spot. by 10:30 am we crushed numerous beverages and consumed so much food there was no need for replenishment for a week! as we were gathering the check that didn't even come to $50.00 the 4 of us looked at each other and exclaimed this is gonna be agoodday! thanks doc taylors!

great place for breakfast!!!. we were just in virginia beach yesterday and checked this place out for breakfast. we went during the week around 9am and we did not have to wait. great place to eat i had the deep south breakfast delish!!!! even got to say hello to ray ray everyone was very pleasent servcie was fast and friendly. we will go back next time we are in the area. thanks for thegoodeats ray ray!!!

wonderful food prettygoodservice. i recommend any of the omlettes or the granola pancakes. the only down side to the whole doc taylors experience was the stoned hostess who moved with the lethargy of a slug.

rider eater. food and service verygoodand at reasonable prices -- comfy homey atmosphere -- was there off season in late morning and still had over a 30 minute wait -- thankfully they have a comfy place right next door with free coffee and other to-pay-for drinks for inside waiting -- open only for breakfast and lunch -- so, unless you know exactly when to go, then be prepared, in season or out, for a lenghty wait, after probably having to walk 2 to 3 blocks from your parking spot -- definitely a favorite of the locals living year round at the beach.

im a fan. im a fan, great place to catch breakfast/lunch at the oceanfront especially after a night of drinking at the bars within the area. i love eating so i usually get 2 or 3 things off their menu. after my hefty meal im catching up with friends over coffee. decent prices especially when you expect prices to be above average, since the area is ground zero for tourists.goodfood and great locals

a fantastic breakfast/lunch place (finally). it's so hard to find a decent breakfast or lunch in virginia beach. nothing wrong with waffle house or ihop, but there are only so many rooty tooty fresh n' fruities i can consume in a given month.

located a stone's throw away from the beach in an old beach home, the setting of the restaurant suits its style very well: the atmosphere is very homey and casual, allowing the diner to relax amongst the visible controlled chaos going on in the open kitchen. the closed patio also adds a nice touch, and in the winter, seats near the fireplace give it more of a touch of home.

service has always been pleasant and timely, no matter how long the wait is. most of the selections are what you'd expect from a breakfast place - pancakes, eggs with choice of meat, etc, are found. the difference here is that they actually do agoodjob by being thorough and can get the food out quickly, which is something other local breakfast places should take note on. other choices like "the stroke" add a nice element of humor and are just as delicious. all selections are very affordable, which is a hard find on the oceanfront.

breakfast and lunch done right with consistently excellent service - the reasons i continue to go every time i'm in virginia beach.
