we regularly come for the tomyumnoodles here, which are amazing, possibly the best we've had in sydney. the pork-based broth is incredibly flavoursome, very tangy and hearty. the fried wonton sheets add an interesting texture to the dish. the tomyumnoodles are very reasonably priced, too, at $6.9 for a small bowl. if you're not accustomed to spice, it's best to start at level one and add your own.

service is always very fast, and do dee is usually open until midnight too - making it great for a late snack. the rest of the menu is possibly a little wanting. for something sweet go for the thai iced tea. some of the other drinks and desserts we've had - the pandan juice, a shaved ice dessert - we found a little sickly sweet.

overall would definitely recommend do dee for its tomyumnoodles.

best tomyumnoodle so far in my life .. i've been tried many tomyumsoup , even in bangkok. but this one is so special.. the soup is really spicy, i choose flat white noodle, in jakarta we maybe call it kwecap, looks like kwetiaw but its shorter, crinkle.

i tried menu no 4 , its tomyumsoop noodle with pork ribs. they have 2 size : small 6.9$ and jumbo 14$
u should choose jumbo👌👌👌👌

when i go to do dee, i go straight for the cardboard menu. they serve tomyumsoup noodles which are out of this world. there is a choice between small and jumbo sizes, jumbo being double the size. the soup comes with your choice of noodles and some toppings like beef balls, ribs, fish balls and some crunchy wonton skin strips.

for the spicy lovers, there is a numbering system for their levels, level 1 to level 7. i consider myself someone who can take spicy, but i would never go past level 3. level 2 is my suggested level for those who like spicy. you can always order a coconut drink if things go south.

for those who cant take your heat, not to fear! they serve non spicy noodles too. i recommend #4 and #10 from the menu, both are non-spicy combination noodles. they recently raised the price a little, but for $6.5 you can get a small bowl of noodles. with that i recommend getting some appetizers which are listed on the back of the cardboard menu. most of them are only $2-$3 a stick.

pros : cheap meals with an array of tomyumnoodles. spiciness with levels.  amazing soup base - a few of us joke that they probably drug the soup to make it taste so good!

cons : none! maybe the soup is really drugged? lol

must get:

combination tomyumsoup #4 or #10 ($7~) – i usually get two small, so i can try different toppings.

grilled pork skewer $3 per stick

deep fried won tons (i’ll keep it a surprise what’s inside, you would never guess!)

its cheap and really good but the portion here is smaller than the one in bondi
their dessert and skewer are also nice👌🏼 and they also have thai dessert!

a popular thai casual eatery serving tomyumnoodle soup. there are 5 spicy levels and that will definitely challenge your chili tolerance. the price is cheap and reasonable. get a small serving if you just want to have a snack meal. do expect a queue.

this restaurant is certainly one of the most popular thai places in the area. we had to wait before being seated on a thursday night despite the large seating area inside - probably a good sign.

if you're looking for ambience or a fancy meal - this is definitely not the place for you. it's a very affordable restaurant with decent and authentic food. it appears pricing on the normal thai menu is not much cheaper than other places around sydney. best dishes to get would be the noodles on the special menu (it appears everyone gets that). i ordered the salmon tomyumsoup with fresh thin rice noodles. the soup was delicious but by itself was a little strong so make sure you get some extra soup. salmon was not that special but i didn't expect much for $8.5. noodles was the best i've had yum! overall food was cheap but portion quite small.

we also got a satay chicken to share which tasted great but was drenched in oil. all in all a great little place that i wouldn't mind visiting again. best part was i didn't even get super thirsty after the meal meaning there probably wasn't the overuse of msg unlike other asian eateries.

the service was terrible. the staff was astonishingly rude. i have rated the place as 3/5 to be fair since the food wasn't half bad although i wouldn't visit the place again.
tip- do not order the level 2 or 3 tomyumsoup even if you think you like spicy food! trust me on this!

i’ve seen so many photos of this place on instagram and heard great reviews about it and boy did this place not disappoint! one of the cheapest places you can eat at in chinatown with bowls of noodles starting from $6. the do dee monster is tomyumspicy noodles worth a mixture of tender ribs, pork and fishballs. i order this level 1 spicy, which is already quite spicy. you can also choose the type of noodles you would like.

had to wait about 10 mins for a table at 2 pm yesterday
the restaurant is quite simple and is well priced for the portions of the food
the higher the level of food equals the more chillier
average service and waited about 5 mins for our food to arrive
would come back to try the lvl 7 tomyumsoup!!!

love their noodles!! i have fallen in love with their tomyumnoodles (no level) since my first visit there. the soup base is divine! unfortunately they don't give a lot of soup so next time i'll try asking for more soup. my friends have tried level 1-3, though i found level 1 already too spicy for me. besides the noodle, recommend their pork neck skewer, pad thai and lots of their desserts. bbq squid is a good option too if you like seafood, it's very tender and juicy. also tried duck curry, papaya salad, vegie&pork dumpling. none of them disappoint!

finally tried do dee paidang thai a couple of weeks ago. it was highly recommended by a friend who said they had really good dishes and i wasn't disappointed . we had a small do dee tomyumwith pepper pork, a chicken pad thai, 2 skewers, 5 pc of deep fried bananas and durian sticky rice between 2 of us. i found the skewers just ok (can't even exactly remember which ones they were) but the rest was really good.
will definitely come back to try out more of their menu.
delicious thai food at a reasonable price. think i found myself a new favourite restaurant for my thai food cravings.
