dewey destin's seafood

we had dinner at 730 on a sunday. i order the stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon, and she ordered the colossal fried shrimp. we also had the hot crab dip.
the crab dip was good, but not great.
the stuffed shrimp was awful. the bacon was soft and chewy and the stuffing tasted like sausage grease. the side of corn on the cob and new potatoes tasted like it was just boiled in unsalted water.
her "colossal" shrimp made us laugh. they were barely medium size butterflied. though their size was small, we both enjoyed them and the portion size was enough for 2.
both entrees were sered with coleslaw that i would give a thumbs up.
even though the food wasn't what we expected for the price, the decor was interesting and the staff was very friendly.

meh, nothing special. definitely not worth the parking headache. food was bland.

like will and keilan's reviews, the food was good, but over priced. like others i went there at the recommendation of some locals. the food was good. the service was good. the fried shrimp could use some seasoning. but 14.95 for some fish and fries? really? the jalepeno hushpuppies tasted good. i just expected the fish and shrimp to have some seasoning as well. again, good food, but not worth the price. you can spend the same money and get food as good, in better atmosphere, with cloth napkins someplace else.

excellent food and service. we will return soon.

sorry folks but this ain't the place to go. i'll admit everything looked good in presentation but our family of four meal was completely bland, no flavor at all. i followed a locals recommendation but i just wasn't impressed. this place had me wondering if they don't season their seafood all over destin because its the first place we went to it. i was wrong, it seems like its just this place. no complaints on waitstaff or service, just the food.

this place is awful. my $26 wahoo was so dry i was jealous of my nieces hotdog. you people who said this place is good are crazy. i would literally rather eat captain d's.

went last night. hostess turned around and ignored us for at least a minute before we were able to give her our seating arrangements. outside was closed so waited 45 minutes. i like how they send you a text when your table is ready. waitress was good. buffalo shrimp appetizer was ok. wife had fried shrimp plate (nothing special), i had grilled shrimp and fish plate (good), daughters had kids meals (fried shrimp and hotdog). hush puppies were very good. overall ok but not worth $82.

"tourist trap". the service was good. the food was mediocre...at best. frozen corn on the cob....and i swear...i believe they picked up the cole slaw at captain dee's and brought it to my table. huge disappointment. for the price...i was expecting so much more. shrimp and grits were just okay. my dinner guests ordered the pecan encrusted grouper. looked and tasted more like regular fried fish to me...no pecans in sight. maybe they were ground up in the batter...but no pecan taste or texture at all.

excellent!!! great food and extra nice waitresses!!

the mediterranean grouper was excellent as was the hot crab dip. i would definitely come back.

overrated! we ate here after being recommended by a local. major disappointment. we ordered the hot crab dip for appetizer. not good and served with ritz crackers for $10. i ordered one of their signature dished and it was so greasy and covers with canned artichokes and sauce it was not good. the best thing was the hush puppies with canned jalapeños in them. not sure much of anything here was fresh and for nearly $100 for 2 people i will not eat there again.

horrible. will never go back. while on our family vacation we visited dewey destin, and it was not at all what we expected. the restaurant came highly recommend by the staff working in our condo, so looking for a good seafood meal we decided to try it. there was a very long wait and that was to be expected, but we never imagined it would take an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. apparently, our order never made it to the kitchen and once it they realized it they came over to tell us, but weren't very apologetic. once our food came out half of it was over cooked and the other half was raw. they said the were going to give us our appetizers free, and when i said i didn't think that was enough the manager argued with me and said having to wait is just part of being in destin. we did end up getting an additional 25% of, but our meal was still $70, and we could have had better seafood at long john silver's.

not a good choice. parmesan mahi was a waste of a nice piece of fish. on a positive note, mahi was fresh and large. dinner outside on the patio overlooking the water was nice.

besides the extra long wait, decent experience. food was good, and have to say service was excellent.
i would recommend.

great views, average food. we were seated quickly, despite it being crowded. the views of the harbor were incredible, but the food was just not good. 2 of us had fried shrimp and it was cold, and 1 of us tried the grouper, which was average. expensive for average food.
