the real deal. what a refreshing place to eat! the food is phenomenal, and the restaurant has a variety of prices and options for the budget-conscious. the best dish i have tried is the organic chicken with lima beans and mashed potatoes. although the cheese curds are absolutely delicious, i highly recommend stepping out and trying the french onion dumplings, which are amazing and unique.

however, my highest recommendation is to save room for dessert. hands down the best cheesecake in the 'burg is right here.

ambience: it is airy, and the tables are spaced in such a way that you never back into a chair, feel on top of others, or have to wait for a server to move so you can get to your seat. the attention to all the details really shines.

a welcome addition to the hattiesburg restaurant scene. the best desserts in town! i highly recommend the chocolate hazelnut cream pie. i only have one complaint. the night i ate there i was dining with 2 vegetarian friends & the options were very limited for them. the salads are excellent & we ordered the fried cheese curds for an appetizer, which was very good...absolutely loved the tomato jam dipping sauce. the only vegetarian option for an entree is the vegetable plate, which was good, not excellent. one friend wanted the mac & cheese but even that has pork belly in it. a little more variety for the non carnivores is the only thing i'd change. the service is excellent & like i said...those desserts!!!

wonderful dinner at cotton blues. cotton blues is a unique restaurant that serves food with a southern flair. the savory combination of herbs mixed with southern cooking creates a delight for the palate. the appetizers, entrees, and desserts such as margarita key lime pie, were all very enjoyable. the restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere.
it also has a very nice wine list and a large selection of specialty drinks. they are open for lunch and dinner

i like it but i don't love it. i wanted to order the shrimp and grits but they were out of grits. i got the oyster small plate and there just wasn't enough to it. but the coconut pream pie was very good and my husbands chicken small plate was good.

oh my. what a great place! the decor, the service, the menu. all wonderful! we had the honey pecan crusted oysters - yum. my husband had the special, which was meatloaf, and he said it was the best he ever had. i had pan seared organic chicken and it was very tasty. the mac and cheese was amazing. goooooo check it out.

i have been to cotton blues three times now. the first two times were for dinner and the last was for sunday lunch. it has gotten worse with each visit. they try way to hard to be fancy for a restaurant that serves fried chicken and scrambled eggs. the latest trip i was asked if i had a reservation... for sunday lunch... i patiently waited for a table since i did not have a reservation only to find when i was finally seated that half of the restaurant was empty. we waited a very long time for our food and when it finally came mine was cold and my husband's steak was so tough he could barely cut it with his knife. the other issue i have had with cotton blues is the needless "front wait." this only means i get asked everything twice and don't get a chance to sit peacefully and enjoy my meals. overall a disappointment in what could be a unique place to eat. won't be back.

food really not too shabby. wasn't amazing but a good meal. waitress visited table about every 2 minutes and every time had another bit to tell us about food, chef's culinary credentials, etc. a little over the top.

i have eaten there three time and each time was a great experience. food was not the same usual dining as many resturants. always good tasting, comes out hot and fresh. service is always good and friendly. if you don't like waiting, make a reservation because they do get busy since it is a great place to eat. but the patio waiting is nice and relaxing, while you wait. why do people fuss about having to wait for a table and talk bad about cotton blues when you do have to wait to be seated. been to cracker barrel on a sunday and have to wait or any other resturant and they take your name and give you a pager and tell you it will be 30-45 minutes before you get a table. maybe someone has something against the owner and try to give them a bad reputation. but i say great place to eat with friendly staff. the desserts are to die for.

fell short of hype. unexpected flavor pairings that did not work for me. trying too hard and falling short. contractory theme/service/menu. homemade pies tasted commercial. 30 minute or less wait turned into 50. no one offered us the bar seating and we sat and sat as others were told about it and immediately seated there. watched as they turned away customers, handed them their cards and told them to return at a later date--didn't come across well. pecan crusted oysters came out cold and honey sauce tasted like honey and water which made oysters soggy. didn't taste much garlic in garlic shrimp instead tasted like a salsa cream sauce but pasta rags were good. even with tons of wait staff service was so-so. wanted to try it once--i wish them luck.

southern flair. i have eaten southern food since i was a child. breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon snacks made by granny, and lots of amazing dinners or "suppers" as we call it. after developing a southern palate over the years i was really surprised with the overall menu at cotton blues. it's like all the great southern food i grew up on is offered in an upscale restaurant here in the pinebelt! but the great surprise is the twist that each item has. cotton blues has taken all the southern staples from granny's house and put a unique twist on each. i could go on for hours about the intricacies that each item has, but believe me you want to try them all for yourself to experience the flavor. i have. this restaurant has some of the best food in a 100 mile radius, if that. it's just unique. the decor, service, food, and price will have me coming back on a regular basis. congratulations, cotton blues. can't wait to try the lunch menu!

come on really. my partner and i decided to give cotton blues a try. i had the pork chop, and he had the salmon. both of the dishes were very good, but neither were $30 good. we travel and eat out a lot, and don't mind paying for a good dinner. two entrees, two drinks, and tip should not be $90 in hattiesburg, ms.
