very good. we went on a wednesday afternoon and there were many other diners, but the dining room wasn't crowded. the place is really big. the menu is varied and interesting.
iorderedthe blackened redfish oscar. as you can see from the photo oscar topping was loaded with crabmeat. very tasty. the green beans were also delicious. the mashed potatoes were not great, a little dry and bland. but the other food was so good, who cares? my f-i-lorderedthe green tomato and blueberry streusel just to see what it was like. you couldn't taste the tomatoes. it was good.
the service was spot on. or server checked on us enough without being overbearing. she was knowledge and friendly.
we live 9 hours from here, but if you live nearby go. very good.

i had a nice lunch with a business client. the atmosphere was very comfortable and well decorated. our service was very good. iorderedthe blackened shrimp tacos, they were wonderful. i received two tacos with plenty of shrimp including fried jalapeño slices on top. it was plenty to eat. the meal also included a small bowl of grits with a fresh pico type garnishment, it was a great balance to the meal. my clientorderedthe redfish taco, he said it was delicious. i saw several loaded poor boys being served which also looked delicious. i highly recommend you give it a try.

disappointed with customer service..... i was given a gift card for cotton blues and i decided to stop there one evening to get a to-go order. when i walked into the restaurant, i was directed to go to the bar to make my order. i stood at the bar and was finally approached by this young lady with blonde hair asking me what did i need. she failed to greet me or let me know the daily special, thankfully i had viewed a menu online before i came because i wasn't given a menu or even asked if i wanted one. i placed my order and waited. during my waiting process, a white gentleman came in and sits at the bar (just as i did) and he was automatically greeted with a smile, the menu, and the daily specials. i was totally in awe that this type of prejudice still existed in hattiesburg especially in a restaurant. at this point, i wanted to leave but i stayed until my food was ready. my food was bagged with no eating utensils, i had to asked for something that should have been common nature. i felt as if they were trying to hurry up and get me out of there. iorderedthe catfish and it was good but not to the point that i will ever eat there again. my advice to the owner of cotton blues is that money has one color and it shouldn't matter whose spending it. businesses open and close everyday in hattiesburg, just food for thought!

was not impressed with this place at all. they attempt to be "classy" restaurant, but yet they fail. there were rotting chicken bones on the deck, cigarette ash/butts everywhere. my crab cake sandwich was overpriced and made me feel terrible afterwards. iorderedcrawfish mashed potatoes and it only coriander one very minuscule crawfish. the workers were all gathered around the bar and tv avoiding responsibilities when our waiter could have been waiting on us. it took 35 minutes for the food to come out in the almost empty restaurant. don't even get me started on how expensive the alcohol was. anyways, my boyfriend and i will not be visiting here again.

had a business lunch andorderedthe lunch special: smoked chicken leg quarter and grilled zucchini, which sounded pretty good! my clientsorderedthe shrimp and grits. the chickens must have been on "special" because the leg quarter was the smallest i have ever seen and they served up 3 thin slices of grilled zucchini. my clients felt bad and gave me some of their shrimp and grits. they were pretty good, but i still left hungry. disappointed in the small portions and above average pricing.

my husband & i went here for our date night after looking at the menu together. we decided to sit on the patio & really enjoyed it. there are 2 tvs & these great over sized chairs that could easily seat two people. weorderedthe cheese curds as the appetizer & they came with two dipping sauces. one was a mustard i really liked & the other was a sweeter sauce but when combined with the mustard sauce it all went together so well! we mostly got the cheese curds to see what they are, pretty much fried cheese but it was tangy & had a good chew to them. let me throw in all the dish ware is so cute! anyways back to the food...
my husbandorderedthe salmon salad & he really enjoyed it. he was wondering with the blueberries would it be too sweet but he loved it. my order was the pulled pork pancakes first off let me say it's a huge dish, two people could share it. three gigantic pancakes & a layer of delicious pulled pork between each pancake. it came with a syrup that was amazing! i couldn't tell if it was the pancakes or the syrup but one had a great taste of lemon zest in it. this really brought out all the flavors, it would have been a little rich but that lemon zest made it perfect. this is way better than chicken & waffles! my husband had my braised greens & he rave about them all the way home, i order a side of the mac and cheese to go with my pancakes,. this mac & cheese was so good, it was elbow noodles with a breadcrumb topping made with fresh local cheese! it also had mushrooms in it & green onions on top, i'm not a fan of either but i ate that entire bowl! this place was wonderful, i want us to come on a sunday for the bottomless mimosa's & bloody mary's.

no blues here, very happy. i went here today (sunday lunch), and it was a very enjoyable experience. the female bathrooms were clean and the decor in there was very nice. as far as the food, iorderedthe honey bourbon glazed porkchop entree with the crawfish mashed potatoes and the farmers mac & cheese, my friendorderedthe southern fried chicken and for the appetizer, the egg rolls. absolutely delicious!!! the bread and cornbread served right when we sat was also wonderful. you can tell that this food was made with a passion because even the sauces and butter were delicious. for a party of two, i paid a little over $50 plus tip, but it was so worth it. i have never tasted food this outstanding before and i love food. great customer service, my cup never went dry and our waitress was very nice.

excellent experience. the wife and i dined at cotton blues a few weeks back and had one of our most enjoyable dinning experience in hattiesburg in some time. the culinary trio of antonie anthony, zach walters and shaun davis are on to something. located inside a very nice building that once housed a wintzel's oyster house, the location has been re-purposed into unique restaurant experience.

a decent location and great building would mean very little if they couldn't deliver in the kitchen, and trust me these guys deliver!

the menu is southern comfort food for a slightly more sophisticated pallet. we began our mean with a order of fried cheese curds, not exactly a southern stable about as comforting as comfort food gets, but the twist was the sauces they served with the cheese curds - a sweet tomato jam, a creole mustard sauce and a blueberry compote. the cheese curds were perfectly prepared but the sauces were exceptional, especially the blueberry compote.

iorderedone of my all time favorite dishes - shrimp and grits. my wifeorderedthe organic southern fried chicken.

their interpretation of shrimp and grits was very unique fresh gulf shrimp and pork belly in a crushed tomato and okra stew served over grits that were infused with a sharp boursin cheese. i alsoordereda side of fresh greens.

the shrimp and grits were very good, a smaller plate but just right, the greens were excellent as they had some more of that sinful pork belly cooked with them.

my wife reports that her fried chicken was as close to her dearly departed grandmother as any she has had since her passing. the sides of fresh mashed potatos and gravy and butter beans were well above average for any resturant.

we split a slice of house made cheese cake that was as good as you'll find anywhere in south mississippi.

in all an excellent experience and a welcome addition to the food scene in hattiesburg.

best new place in town. my co-workers in i went there for lunch today. our server was very friendly and prompt in her service. i never had to ask for a refill because it was always brought out just in time. she brought out beet chips and pickles while our food was being prepared. they were very tasty! iorderedthe cheese curds for the table, and it was accompanied by a tomato jam and a mustard sauce. both were great with the cheese curds! can't go wrong with fried cheese, right?

iorderedthe seared salmon salad. it came with roasted potatoes and crab deviled eggs. never will i have another deviled egg without crab and bacon! it was amazing! my whole dish just complimented each other so well, and it was more than enough to fill me up.

my co-workersordereda burger with warm potato salad, and shrimp and grits. both agreed it was a great meal, and they left fully satisfied.

we will definitely be back! exactly what we needed in hattiesburg. thanks!

tonight our previous experience was blown out of the water! we enjoyed every minute and every bite of our food. the patio was a perfect place to enjoy the beautiful fall day! kristen went way above and beyond! we were completely taken by her charm and willingness to b so suggestive! the concept of this restaurant is something hattiesburg has needed and must say without a doubt perfection! thanks cotton blues for a night without children and any complaints! !

birthday dinner disappointment. so after having a baby and being sick my birthday came to b on this friday night. lucky to have someone babysit all 3 kids so we could enjoy a nice dinner date. the atmosphere was good. our waitress was a little forgetful but very knowledged in all the food and very sweet. my husbandorderedour main entree after our waitress had forgotten to take it. heorderedhimself the all natural ribeye and heorderedme the pan roasted chicken our wait for food was rather short considering we had been forgotten. however when our entrees arrived i was given a plate of fried chicken and my husband his steak asordered. we questioned our waitress about the pan roasted chicken and she told us that i said organic fried chicken. i know for a fact i did no such thing as i didn't place my order and if i wanted fried chicken i would go to popeyes. so i chose to keep the fried chicken rather than argue w an obvious busy server. my husbands steak was cooked perfectly but however had equal parts fat to meat. needless to say we could've saved a hundred bucks and used our night away for something less disappointing! won't b going back anytime soon!!

a welcome addition to the hattiesburg restaurant scene. the best desserts in town! i highly recommend the chocolate hazelnut cream pie. i only have one complaint. the night i ate there i was dining with 2 vegetarian friends & the options were very limited for them. the salads are excellent & weorderedthe fried cheese curds for an appetizer, which was very good...absolutely loved the tomato jam dipping sauce. the only vegetarian option for an entree is the vegetable plate, which was good, not excellent. one friend wanted the mac & cheese but even that has pork belly in it. a little more variety for the non carnivores is the only thing i'd change. the service is excellent & like i said...those desserts!!!

just some thoughts!. just to be clear, i really like cotton blues, but there are a couple of things that could have been better on my first visit. iorderedthe "baseball steak, now called i believe the cowboy steak" and even though it was less than twenty dollars, i expected more than french fries and three small onion rings. i might suggest a better starch, such as baked potatoe, garlic mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes. any thing except french fries! service was excellent, as was the decore. i loved the stainless tableware, very upscale and easy to use.orderedthe pecan pie, and was treated to an exceptionally good desert. i will certainly put cotton blues on my list of good eateries!

cotton blues is the best thing thats ever happend to hattiesburg. i went to cotton blues with my sister this past wednesday and right away i knew i would be in love with this place. first of all, great job on the interior decorating. cotton blues' atmosphere is like nothing else i've experienced in hattiesburg. we were seated in the main room and were greeted by a young gentleman who delivered an assortment of fresh bread and spreads to our table. our server was jeff, and he was amazing! very attentive and knowledgable about the specials and desserts! weorderedcheese curds and they were to die for! they come with a tomato jam and a sweet mustard sauce ( they sell the tomato jam at the hostess stand- which i think is a really unique touch). then weorderedthe hazelnut chocolate pie, which was also delicious! what i am impressed with most, is the experience cotton blue creates for it's customers. even though this restaurant has only been open a few weeks, its obvious that they spent alot of time preparing for their opening. basically, you need to go eat here now! i'm positive you'll have a good experience and if for some reason you don't, please communicate any issues you have to the managers, because they seem genuinely concerned in their customer's experience.
