i've eaten here several times and can't wait to go back. why? the best andouille crusted redfish, salted caramel cheesecake, spicy shrimp and grits, the veggie plate. the only reason i didn't give thisrestauranta 5 is because i didn't like the catfish or the crab cake.

pretentious southern food. thisrestaurantsucks. called an hour ahead, waited an hour for a table. food is someone trying to make southern staples into haute cuisine, which totally misses the point of both southern comfort food and haute cuisine. what a ridiculously over priced joke!

excellent food and service!. i was really impressed with therestaurantand the service. i dined with a party of 5. we are not local, so it was important for us to find arestaurantthat would be really worth the trip. cotton blues was it! the salads are excellent. ingredients seem really fresh, and dishes are house made. i recommend the organic southern fried chicken, and substitute the lima beans for the braised greens. omg. heaven! oops, i forgot to add that we shared the fried cheese curds and they were also equally as awesome. the tomato jam was sweet and unique, but perfect!

just wow.. last week i went to cotton blues without expectations. i've heard nothing but wonderful things about therestaurantbut i didn't want to raise my expectations to the point where i was disappointed once i went.
i couldn't have been more wrong.
the staff was prompt and polite, the food was by far the best i've had in hattiesburg and the atmosphere was upbeat and fun.
i had the redfish and desert was a house-made cheesecake milkshake.
this is definitely a new found favorite restaurant!
yum, yum, yum.

italian wine dinner. excellent italian cuisine paired with great wines provided a fantastic evening at cotton blues. the five course dinner was fabulous beginning with prosciutto wrapped grilled fig salad, spinach carbonara, calamari cannoli, veal meatball parmesan with focaccia crostini, and tiramisu cheesecake. each course was paired with italian wines that complemented the meal. the evening was most enjoyable. congrats to chris, clayton, and the staff of cotton blues for making thursday a very special night for us.

had the pleasure of dining at cb at their private opening. the experience exceeded our expectations. as we entered the lobby of therestaurantwe were warmly greeted by the hostess. she was knowledgable of therestaurantand guided us to the bar. met a great staff at the bar. enjoyed several appetizers. each one was better than the other. definitely scored a 10 plus on appetizers. our meal was delicious. we were fortunate to have several people in our party so we shared with each other. the food was delicious, nicely seasoned and well presented. the desserts are soooo good. congratulations to the entire team at cb. highly recommend this experience. btw, the ambiance is great.

excellent experience. the wife and i dined at cotton blues a few weeks back and had one of our most enjoyable dinning experience in hattiesburg in some time. the culinary trio of antonie anthony, zach walters and shaun davis are on to something. located inside a very nice building that once housed a wintzel's oyster house, the location has been re-purposed into uniquerestaurantexperience.

a decent location and great building would mean very little if they couldn't deliver in the kitchen, and trust me these guys deliver!

the menu is southern comfort food for a slightly more sophisticated pallet. we began our mean with a order of fried cheese curds, not exactly a southern stable about as comforting as comfort food gets, but the twist was the sauces they served with the cheese curds - a sweet tomato jam, a creole mustard sauce and a blueberry compote. the cheese curds were perfectly prepared but the sauces were exceptional, especially the blueberry compote.

i ordered one of my all time favorite dishes - shrimp and grits. my wife ordered the organic southern fried chicken.

their interpretation of shrimp and grits was very unique fresh gulf shrimp and pork belly in a crushed tomato and okra stew served over grits that were infused with a sharp boursin cheese. i also ordered a side of fresh greens.

the shrimp and grits were very good, a smaller plate but just right, the greens were excellent as they had some more of that sinful pork belly cooked with them.

my wife reports that her fried chicken was as close to her dearly departed grandmother as any she has had since her passing. the sides of fresh mashed potatos and gravy and butter beans were well above average for any resturant.

we split a slice of house made cheese cake that was as good as you'll find anywhere in south mississippi.

in all an excellent experience and a welcome addition to the food scene in hattiesburg.

come on h'burg, let's support this place!!!. ate here for the first time last week with my wife; great food. may be a touch over-priced for this area but we enjoyed everything. limited wine selection for the prices of the entrees but could be forgiven. short rib was the best!! i would probably make the dining room a little more intimate because it felt like a semi-nice chainrestaurantrather than the upper echelonrestaurantit is trying to be with the complex/pricey entrees on the menu. i might would flip the menu and have twice as many "small plates" at the cheaper prices and just a few $20-$30 entrees; my wife and i have expensive tastes and enjoy the menu but i'm concerned that apart from the 2%ers in town, this area may not support a menu like this, just sayin'. otherwise, we enjoyed it and will be back!!

after only 2 nights, cotton blues has become the best and hottestrestaurantin town. truly unique to hattiesburg. they did an outstanding job with the decor. the service was great and everybody made you feel welcome and thanked you for coming. mostly importantly, the food was amazing!!! they have really hit a homerun with this one. we sampled several things off the menu and every single bite was outstanding and of very high quality. it's obvious that they have some professional classically trained chefs in the kitchen. they have a huge bar and awesome outdoor patio! can't wait to make reservations and go back. it's going to be our "go to" spot!

the food is slightly overpriced for the quality and especially the location. average people will not be able to dine here but once every few months. the bar specials are very reasonable but unless you are a sports bar it small pub there are no reasons for $1 beers in arestaurantwith 20-30 dollar entrees plus cost of salads. also wait staff is confusing. blue shirts apparently can only bring water and dried bread while those in white shirts appear randomly and the food takes a little while to appear. also the hours will vary by business if you go at 9pm on a slow day you will not be able to eat. having said that the food is ok and everyone loves a cheap drink. this place should be turned into a pub not arestaurantit would do much better on that end of town!

birthday dinner disappointment. so after having a baby and being sick my birthday came to b on this friday night. lucky to have someone babysit all 3 kids so we could enjoy a nice dinner date. the atmosphere was good. our waitress was a little forgetful but very knowledged in all the food and very sweet. my husband ordered our main entree after our waitress had forgotten to take it. he ordered himself the all natural ribeye and he ordered me the pan roasted chicken our wait for food was rather short considering we had been forgotten. however when our entrees arrived i was given a plate of fried chicken and my husband his steak as ordered . we questioned our waitress about the pan roasted chicken and she told us that i said organic fried chicken. i know for a fact i did no such thing as i didn't place my order and if i wanted fried chicken i would go to popeyes. so i chose to keep the fried chicken rather than argue w an obvious busy server. my husbands steak was cooked perfectly but however had equal parts fat to meat. needless to say we could've saved a hundred bucks and used our night away for something less disappointing! won't b going back anytime soon!!

wonderful. took my husband to cotton blues for his birthday. we were traveling from florida to texas and just spent the night in hattiesburg. checked out the reviews for several restaurants in hattiesburg and the cotton blues had the best ones. the atmosphere is great, the service was great, and the food was great. the food is fresh and served very upscale and articulate. we both had the small plates and the portions were just right. we highly recommend thisrestaurantfor a unique night out instead of the usual chain restaurants. we did not see much on the menu that children would like so you might want to reserve for adult appetites. you will not be disappointed.
