classic 50's drive-in

voted for the best milkshakes in norman. i absolutelylovethem and i think they really really good!

only problem is and why i give it a 3.0 is they use peanut oil for all their food and i'm allergic. (which who really still uses peanut oil these days?!) so i just stop by for the awesome milkshakes.

wonderful taste of the good old days. i have been eating at classic's for years, and i genuinelylovethis place. the food is always great, even though the service could sometimes be better. the menu is much more extensive than sonic's, and i am so happy that despite sonic building next door and then across the street classic's has stayed strong. ilovethat i can get fried okra with my burger here. the choices for drinks are boundless and you can add candy to your choice. they serve up my very favorite hot fudge sundae here. they basically line a styrofoamcup with hot fudge--so that you have about an inch worth of fudge on the bottom--then they add the ice cream, more hot fudge, whipped cream and of course a cherry on top. there is no lack of chocolate deliciousness here!

romantic spot. when i was in high school, my wife (then girlfriend) and i used to come here for lunch to split the cajun fries because we didn't have much money. this was before anyone had curly fries that i knew of. still delicious and always fresh...unlike arbys. now i take my daughter here for late night snacks.

i don't really care much for the burgers or the slushes, but everything else i've had is perfect. i think that part of their secret is that they use peanut oil for frying, and everything is made to order...hot enough to burn you if you're not careful! my favorite items on the menu are the fried chicken sandwich and the fried pickles. ilovethe potato boats as well, but they are way overpriced.

what ilovemost of all is that it is a norman institution. and when sonic started to move in right next store, i was outraged. they moved to the corner instead, but you know who looks the busiest to me? norman's own classic 50s.

classic fare, hometown taste!. iloveclassic 50s. when i moved here it was the first place a friend took me to! their cajun burger is great, and they have good drink options. good pricing too! i just wish their credit card machine was outside like sonic has, but that's okay--i'll keep coming back for more sweet 'tater fries!

crimson and cream slush is fantastic and ilovetheir potato boats. it is a lot like sonic but way better! a norman staple.

delicious!. i go to norman once or twice a month for business and i always make time in my busy schedule to stop at classic 50's. it is so good!!
iloveall the fried foods (especially the broccoli cheddar nuggets) and appreciate that they have the potato boats.
it's a wonderfully diverse and delicious (and unhealthy) menu which that other drive-in across the way can't claim.
yes they are a little slow and i've had to re-request the ranch dressing they left out of my bag a few times but i do not let those minor inconveniences bother me.

addicted maybe.lovethe "happy hour" at this place. been going for years. best coke flavorings! only problem is i might have an addiction.
