like to support local business so i stopped in for a burger and fries. it is better than the chain drive-in across the street.

go local. kind of like sonic because it used to be one. it still stands tall and proud in the saddle while the sonic moves around at the behest of the baptists.

food and drinks are what you'd expect and nothing more. quick and a good value. but locally owned and not a chain... and some believe that's important. i do.

if you always wished sonic had a few other items or did some things different this place is for you. if not go anyway because it will be better than the sonic across the street.

we were going through norman on the way to the chickasaw cultural center, and stopped here for a quick lunch. raegan got the fish sandwich and a corn dog. she figured the sandwich would be small, but it wasn’t, and was hard pressed to finish the corn dog. she liked the fishburger, and said the corn dog was excellent. ian, erin, and i got burgers. we really liked them. they were not the very best cheeseburgers we’ve had, but they were far from the worst (and they were better than any braum’s or sonic burger i’ve had in the past couple years). my burger could have had a better crust to improve texture, but it had decent flavor. i also got a chili cheese dog, which i really enjoyed. the beef dog was tasty, and the chili was the right amount and a good compliment to the dog. we got a couple tots, and they were nice and crispy. the tea and the coke was really good. service was fast and friendly. our check was $35.50.

this place has always been a favorite of mine but new the new ownership has updated the outside and improved the menu. the new hamburger patties have been upgraded to 1/4 lb. instead of those paper thin patties. they even added veggie burgers and sweet potato fries. the drink/candy combos are endless but i recommend the sour sprittle...the best!!!

this place is quite good. it's got more norman-based history than you can shake a stick at. the food is good for drive-in cuisine, and the staff is usually pretty friendly. it does get expensive, but it's a nice treat. i recommend going off of normal with your drink orders. get creative!

voted for the best milkshakes in norman. i absolutely love them and i think they really really good!

only problem is and why i give it a 3.0 is they use peanut oil for all their food and i'm allergic. (which who really still uses peanut oil these days?!) so i just stop by for the awesome milkshakes.

rant. absolutely will not be be back. spent $12.00 on an onion ring, a corn dog, a small drink and baked potatoe. the order was wrong from the start. they left off the drink. the potatoe was just chopped up french fries in a calm shell. no butter or any condiment was provided. asked for ranch to dip onion rings and corn dog in and was told it would be an additional 30 cents for each container i wanted. see picture. even without skin which is what they claimed it was it looks nothing like a baked potatoe.

nothing special. i have driven past classic 50's many times but had never tried it. so, after the ou-texas basketball game, my wife and i stopped in for a couple of late night burgers. she had the number 2 cheeseburger with mustard and i had the bacon cheeseburger with mayo. we were not impressed. the burgers were okay, but the meat was very thin and they were not a good value. i am not a big fan of the oklahoma chain across the street, but i would choose sonic over the classic 50's.

its okay.... ordered their fried pickles and bacon cheeseburger. the fried pickles were overly breaded i could barely taste the pickle. the patties are super thin. but the fries are pretty good. overall i don't think this is the spot where id like to get my burger fix.

wonderful taste of the good old days. i have been eating at classic's for years, and i genuinely love this place. the food is always great, even though the service could sometimes be better. the menu is much more extensive than sonic's, and i am so happy that despite sonic building next door and then across the street classic's has stayed strong. i love that i can get fried okra with my burger here. the choices for drinks are boundless and you can add candy to your choice. they serve up my very favorite hot fudge sundae here. they basically line a styrofoamcup with hot fudge--so that you have about an inch worth of fudge on the bottom--then they add the ice cream, more hot fudge, whipped cream and of course a cherry on top. there is no lack of chocolate deliciousness here!
