the cupping room has opened above the campos cafe in newtown, a very glamorous set-up compared to the ones where the coffee originates.

campos hq. the original campos coffee. a rustic little store along the back streets of newtown. great coffee and great baristas in this company owned store. definitely try to book in for the coffee cupping experience in their new funky and private space upstairs. a must for coffee lovers!

for all of sydney's talk about serious coffee, the city has never had a cupping room before. we're talking the same kind of smelling, sucking, spitting and other ill-mannered gestures that have previously accompanied wine snobbery… and party pashes. heck

the macchiato ($3) had a robust depth of flavour but i thought it also had a slightly bitter aftertaste — perhaps the sudden afternoon rush affected the quality? i'll have to return to try a flat white, cappuccino and mocha to compare to other places.

good coffee, tiny space. nice coffee, tiny space but it was so crowded. it took quite a while for my order to arrive, understandably because of the crowd. they somehow thought we wanted take away maybe because it was so noisy and i was pretty sure i told them to have the coffee there. we also bought the obama blend since i've heard good reviews about it.

average coffee. have tried them twice for takeaway coffee and haven't been particularly impressed! in my book either allpress, single origin or bourke st bakery beats this place.

obama blend. seriously, they sell a blend of coffee beans called obama that is described as having 'depth of character, strong and eloquent'! doesn't that make you want to visit the place already? this shrine to coffee sells everything from coffee machine accessories, ground or unground coffee beans and the creamiest and best soy latte round town. there are many good reasons why people queue up outside this cosy place. note that it's a coffee bar in the sense that they don't sell much else. sip and stroll!

what else can be said?. great coffee, dedicated baristas, and on the top of every great coffee in sydney list, there's a reason for that. if you appreciate your coffee, then check it out - you owe it to yourself.

best coffee in sydney. the coffees are consistently good all year round. full of flavour and not burnt like other cafes.....pity about the queues though....i suppose magic takes time

best in the world. i travel the world and visit coffee shops. vienna is good for their history. london is good for their people. new york is only good for their starbucks. paris is good for their atmosphere. but i always come back to campos for its coffee ... the best in the world !

i'll eat anything but i'm very fussy about my coffee. campos is consistently the best without a doubt. if you love coffee you'll live campos.
