campos coffee

confused.... not sure if we just caught campos on an off day but our coffees were awful. although the texture of the milk in my cap was great, the flavor was absolutely disgusting. not sure what kind of machines campos uses as i wasn't too bothered to ask, but i'm assuming either the shot was over extracted, hence the horrible flavor, or the milk was off. my friend's black coffee wasn't great either, but that may just be personal preference and dislike of the single origin being used (panama i believe?) we both work with coffee, not extreme professionals, but enough to know whats good and what's not and campos just didn't do it for us.

the beat the q service here was disappointing as the order is not processed until you arrive, which defeats the purpose of 'beat the q'. i usually have to wait in excess of ten minutes despite pre ordering my coffee. i would rather go to luxe, only a door down for great coffee, fabulous and timely service.

i have no idea why i did not come here sooner. two words – coffee heaven. absolutely recommend this place. the coffee is 10/10. i have only had the coffee mind you, regular coffee and the belgium white chocolate ice-cream affogato. the affogato blows my mind every time. when the expresso is merged with the ice-cream it tastes like fine coffee ice-cream which still has a bitterness to it from the expresso. the affogato honestly quite addictive, and if i could, i would be tempting to have one every day. they have a hazelnut affogato on the menu, but i have not been able to walk past the belgium white chocolate when deciding at the counter. highly recommended! coffee: 10/10 value for money: 7.5/10 ambience: 7.5/10 service: 7.5/10 overall score: 32.5/40 $

the coffee is amazing - several hundred times better than most cafés which use campos roast. service is pretty slow - it's incredibly busy - but seldom rude.
it's super expensive, and if i never bought coffe there i could probably buy a nespresso machine by now, but it's my favourite treat.

it was my first time in newtown, and i definitely had to try out campos coffee and i walked away happily satisfied.

i ordered a cappuccino and the first thing i noticed was that there was an adequate amount of foam on top. after getting the right instagram angle, the coffee was still hot. also, there was a sweet aroma, which made the coffee all the more amazing.

i'd highly recommend trying campos coffee, but be wary of waiting times when there are large orders.

r.u.d.e. went into this place last week, just before i left sydney for a few months (moved to melbourne for work, if any one is interested).

never have i come across such rude, ignorant, stubborn baristas in my life.

i lived in alexandria, quite close to this coffee shop actually and every client, friend, friends of friends i knew, referred me to this place. so, i thought, before i leave syd city, let's check it out. boy i wish i didn't.

after waiting 20 minutes for my coffee, the guys put a sugar in my coffee, which obviously, i don't have in my coffee.
after confronting him and asking him nicely to please make me another one, he blatantly told me "you did ask for sugar, maybe you were not thinking you wanted it in you're mind but we are not mind readers" and told me i had to return to the back of 30 min waiting line.

honestly, i turned around, jaw dropped and proceeded to walk out.
any one considering a visit, please do not, go somewhere they actually give a crap about their customer service.

amazing coffee!

making good coffee isn't that hard. i don't get how so many people do it wrong. apparently, what is hard, is being polite.

fantastic coffee; small cafe in newtown, but your here for the coffee.

went there for their affogato, the shop is small that u could past it without notice, but it reli looks nice as a small getaway place. there is a short line when i got there, many people enjoying their coffee and relaxing.

waited for couple of mins after we ordered and the affogato looked great and taste awesome. the bitterness of the expresso and the sweetness of the ice cream blended very well, it gives a complicated tastes in your mouth that i love that. definitely worth to try and must go again

the best coffee in sydney.. prepare to be disappointed. after you've been to campos newtown, every time you have coffee anywhere else you'll be unhappy because nobody else does it like campos does.

it's small and cramped and honestly, with the amount of money they must be making, they ought to get a larger space. i've seen people go elsewhere due to being physically unable to get inside, and surely when you're #1 you can stop it with the cutesy "undiscovered" rubbish?

but the pastries are excellent, the staff are friendly and the coffee is the best. period.
