have always liked this place but the coffee just seems to get better each time i come. service isgoodand prompt and they have a small selection of pastries. other than that, no food. it's more of a coffee bar than cafe. allows you to enjoy the coffee experience all the more without the distractions of food.

all in all, a small coffee shop with costly coffees, slow service and just the right amounts of friendliness and of snootiness. the pastries are prettygoodbut also dear.

unfortunately, campos coffee is incredibly cosy if you will and cramped, which markedly mars our experience at the shop.

all said and done, coffee is coffee or we don't really understand coffee. however, we can say that campos coffee isn't abominable coffee and we might come back again.

coffee from the god of campos. campos coffee at newtown is truly outstanding. the attention to detail, the machine-like precision and the unerring consistent taste is there - whenever you are in a funk or need to be shaken out of your morning malaise, do yourselves a favour, saygoodmorning to the campos cave.

confused.... not sure if we just caught campos on an off day but our coffees were awful. although the texture of the milk in my cap was great, the flavor was absolutely disgusting. not sure what kind of machines campos uses as i wasn't too bothered to ask, but i'm assuming either the shot was over extracted, hence the horrible flavor, or the milk was off. my friend's black coffee wasn't great either, but that may just be personal preference and dislike of the single origin being used (panama i believe?) we both work with coffee, not extreme professionals, but enough to know whatsgoodand what's not and campos just didn't do it for us.

makinggoodcoffee isn't that hard. i don't get how so many people do it wrong. apparently, what is hard, is being polite.

my coffee addict of a husband and i have been hunting down the best coffee in sydney, so it was no wonder we decided it was time to head down to the flagship campos coffee store located at newtown, which was awarded 3 cups (i.e. full marks) by sydney morning herald'sgoodcoffee guide 2012. established 10 years ago, this cafe used to be a sleepy shop beneath an apartment. things are different now of course, and it's always bustling with life, even on weekdays! the first floor is where the expresso bar is situated. throngs of tourists and locals alike flock here just to savour the best coffee. no menus are provided but they offer the usual classics like latte, espressos, and also extras such as affogatos, iced coffees, teas and hot chocolate. we only realized on hindsight that the second floor has a cupping room, which is probably worth a go for every coffee lover at $30 per pax. for the uninitiated, cupping is similar to wine tasting. according to campos coffee's website, "cupping is a

not sure why people complain about the wait. this has the best coffee i've had in sydney - hands down.
before, i thought i was drinkinggoodcoffee at my local cafe, until i went to campos.
the baristas have all been working there for a long time, testament to their professionalism and is agoodsign in any cafe or restaurant thay they treat it as a profession, not just a job between uni lectures.
the standard has been raised for me - there are other places that have coffee just asgoodnow but this was the first for me.

i don't understand why people complain about waiting. if three baristas can barely keep up with demand, then it would indicate that the coffee is rated highly. i would be more worried about a cafe in newtoan that wasn't busy - indicating that it's no good.
stop winging.
