for ardent lovers of thai food, this place would be a good one to start. the chicken parcel wrapped in pandan leaves were exquisite. make sure you add on the deceptive clear sauce that just takes the dish to another level. the signature desert was waterchestnut rubies in chilled coconut milk was dreamy and the chocolate mousse was decadent. there at certainly lots of dishes that are note-worthy. but personally, i feel the dishes are overpriced. your wallet could end up taking a heavy toll if you're not picky with your orders.

lovely ambience.
very friendly staff.

must try :
chicken satay with peanut sauce & tom yum soup.

there is plenty of choice on the main course. the staff helped us pick a few items. finished it off with fried ice cream. yum. will return soon

quite a chilled out plac with some authentic thai ambience.. food was great and service too.. however the price at which they sell the food i thought the taste could have been better..
we went for veg cuisines as my wife is a pure veg though i tried a seafood soup and an omlette.. soup was good and omlette was supposed to be a crab omlette but i couldnt find anything extraordinary as to how the name was mentioned..
all in all a good go-to restaurant just the prices were above expectation..

benjarong has been, and probably will be, one of chennai's finest thai restaurants for a long time.

the ambience is amazing, right from the thai relics adorning the walls, to the very asian ornate dining chairs.

every dish is authentic and delicious. if you're going for the perennial favorite - tom yum soup, this is one of the better places to have it at. their fish cakes (tod mun pla) are amazing, and what we always end up getting.

for an experience like this, the price tag is on the slightly expensive side, though. you get exceptional service, authentic food, and a serene place to dine in.

great food but extremely pricey. the total delay in service and the non justifiable portions are a proper deal breaker for me. extremely dissatisfied and disappointed, i’ve been to other fine dining restaurants but haven’t walked our still feeling a bit hungry. this was the first and regretfully my last visit to benjarong 😞

we were there on a saturday evening and suprisingly it was not all that busy, before you walkin with your friends make sure someone is giving a treat or you have a fat wallet.

honestly none of us had any idea on the dishes served, if you don't know, don't have one more wry... you can still look at the ingredients and not feel embarrassed.

had coconut based soup , rich creamy and had an unknown vegetable which got stuck in mouth, but still good 3.5/5

mushroom starter , burnt well but nothing great.. it was like my wife's overburnt potato.. 2.5/5

lotus stem, this one was cracker... like lays chips soaked in sauce , well done 3.5/5

main course we didn't know a thing... but thankfully the staff understood our blank faces and rescued. had thai red curry with steamed rice, and a side that had loads of vegetables marinated with slurpy sauce and roasted cashews. 3/5

finally to end on a sweet note, we shared chocolate mousse (i didn't share) , vanilla bean ice cream pancake and another of chefs special... all good , yummy and slurpalicoous 3/5

the ambience, decor and staff were as usual worth the ₹500 starter , what else can we expect. and yes , the non vegetarian guys ordered some fish which they wanted me to rate 4/5 and chicken which was just about. they had tom yum chicken soup.. for which i don't know what to rate...

also ordered few mocktails, the siam drink was different from the rest

overall will visit again if someone else gives me treat...

for 4 of us the bill was ₹6500 even though the food was good...

benjarong . it is a place furnished nicely to provide a good ambience to food lovers. my experience was quite mixed . some dishes were good some bad . satay was not up to mark compared to one had at many other places . gai hot baitaey was good . toe min pla a fish item was not great , found difficult to have . the soup was the best i would credit to restaurant tom yum . main course we had noodle pahd thai. ok too much egg mix , did not make it good . the dessert was really bad one coconut milk dish with cherries. the ac in the restaurant was straight facing us and was not able to adjust properly . overall i would suggest a try for it is pricy for the taste .

went to this place few days back with my husband who told me that the place was having vietnamese food festival. i have been to benjarong in kolkata (south city mall) and too be honest, it was not a very big deal as the food was not very extra ordinary. i didn’t have high hopes from this place either. when we reached this place, the place looked very much asian themed with those chinese dragon and porcelain statues. the look of the restaurant was very different to what i had seen in kolkata as that place was very modern. we were seated by the staffs who were polite and humble. then comes the menu which has two menu’s. one was there authentic thai cuisine and the other was the vietnamese menu which they made as the festival was going on. we chose the vietnamese menu and went through the pages. the executive chef of the resturant mr. ram happened to be my husband’s friend and batch mate helped us with the dishes we should try. i waited and they chatted. after 10-15mins the food arrives and voila - the presentation was brilliant and the food tasted out of this world. trust me, i had never seen nor tasted vietnamese food like this. i could feel each and every item taste so different from one another and the freshness of the food, packed with flavours beyond your imagination. do go before there festival ends. it’s a must try !

been here several times, never been disappointed. the thai food is good. this review is specific to veitnamese festival. was so excited to try out their menu, knowing their reputation. but, unfortunately didn't live up to the expectation at all.

chicken pho - 4/5
shrimp mousse in sugarcane skewers -3/5
clay pot fish - 2/5

the flavours were not in place. when one of the best restaurants in town is running a food fest one expects everything to be perfect especially the flavours of the cuisine.

the shrimp on sugarcane skewers - failed to impress. the clay pot fish was off balance. we went with such high expectations and came back disappointed. the mug bean rice recommended along with clay pot fish wasn't a good pairing.

the overall rating of 4 is for their otherwise good food. we finally did get a pandang chicken to please our palate.

had gone last week to this place with my family. it was a pleasant experience.

food: the taste of the food was good. it was a different cuisine experience.

sevice: service was excellent, even the manager had come in the middle of the meal to enquire about the food.

ambience: good. the presentation of the food was also good.

one liner: a place you can go for a different cuisine experience.
