benjarong is one place where the service and the food will remain in your mind for a long, long time.
we were welcomed by the courteous staff and ordered the gai hor baitaey, pla nung manow, chicken khao pahd and guaytiew pahd.

the gai hor baitaey was exceptional. although just four pieces, the tender, succulent chicken with just the right amount of that smoky flavour comes wrapped in a leaf packed with a flavourful juice. one of the most remarkable dishes i've had in a while.

the pla nung manow (although it was a main course dish, we feasted on it as a starter) is absolutely lovely. it's flavours are subtle yet beautifully bursts in your mouth. four exceptionally soft fillets of fish are laid on a bed of lemongrass, topped with a sauce that is sweet and sour, seasoned with chilli flakes. it's the very definition of delicious comfort food.

on to the main course, the chicken khao pahd was a lightly flavoured chicken friedricethat works well for those who prefer to go light on the tummy, and has just the right amount of spice and tang.

guaytiew pahd was a dish consisting of flat noodles tossed with seafood - prawns, squid and fish - and has the flavours of sesame and a good spicy twist. although a little chewy, it can be overlooked for its good quantity and taste.

the complimentary lemongrass tea was just the perfect end to a lovely, wholesome meal at benjarong.

i have been postponing this review for a long time. so here it goes.
i have been to this place many times and it doesn't disappoint u. every time i go it makes me come again and again. i love thai food and this is the best restaurant in chennai to serve thai food. start off with the tradition of thai by mixing in all in the leaf and tuck it in your mouth. the tom yum soup is the best way to start things. it's not the best but good and punched in flavour. for starters try the chicken wrapped in pandarus leaf, raw papaya salad and the crispy lamb in chilli and tender peppercorn it's worth the cost. i wouldn't recommend the satay because i ate it benjarong dubai and it was way better.for the mains u can go for either a green curry and a jasminericewhich is really good here or go for a pan friedricewith a steamed fish or a crab, both of them are my favorite. i have not tried any deserts here because of french loaf. so overall a great authentic thai food awaits u. a must try for asian food lovers. it's a expensive outlet but it's all worth it. the service is neat and quick. the ambience sings thailand. i feel that the menu can be altered with something new. 👍😀

recently i was about to visit benjarong. menu with thai dishes name made me difficult to choose the food.finally order grilled fish and phatricekinda familiar to me. taste was absolutely delicious. dishes were presented decoratively. before the meal they gave something (not able to remember the name )like beetle leaves with peanut, coconut scraps, ginger, lemon and tasty syrup which made me to taste it thrice. ambience is very good and calm.but the price is costly. anyways this the good restaurant to enjoy thai food leisurely.

dear team benjarong the only reason we are giving you three star is your menu is insanely pricey no doubt the food is very good. last week i came with my wife we ordered 1 soup 1 jasminericeand one green curry and we paid 1650/-. we give 10 star for your food. if two people have to have starter soup main course and dessert i think we'll end up spending 5000. please reduce your prices your food is excellent

the food was tasty and good. will visit again to possibly try the duck dishes. the appetizer they give with groundnuts, coconut, chilly, ginger, and onion with a sweet sauce and leaves is awesome. mango with stickyricewas nothing but our good old sakarai pongal with few mango pieces. the main course of green thai curry with jasminericewas astounding and the portions were also huge.

ambience : 4.0
food : 4.0
must try green curry chicken and satay.
their pad thai is also impressive
i never had a crib about the quality but quantity is usually very less for my appetite.
they dont have to be gourmet gourmet on the quantity. always end up ordering a portion of steamedricejust for that extra 2 spoons that would have given me complete satisfaction.

visited for lunch. good ambience and maintained cleanly. had tom kha chicken soup which was flavourful. the thai red curry andricewere a disappointment ( normally one would expect this to be the best as it is the most popular thai dish in india). it was low on flavour and the chicken seemed poorly done. the jasminericelacked the aroma for which its famous. the service was good.

we were a group of 4.
soup:tom yum seafood soup..the soup had enough quantity of prawn in it.👍
starters: the chicken starter was okay and the spring roll was good but the sauce which accompanied it lacked spice in my opinion.
main course:the thai green curry chicken was good.👍the friedriceand the fish curry had mild flavors was okay.
benjarong’s service never disappoints me and they serve an appetizer is the beginning and tea throughout your meal when i have seen other restaurants charging for it.👍that’s a big yay👏🏽

a fine dining thai restaurant in town. loved the whole experience but sadly, i couldn't pronounce any of the names :p n also, it's a long pending review.

lemon grass tea was served as complimentary. tasted highly refreshing. they kept replenishing the empty cups :) they also gave a platter of paan with an assortment of stuffing like onions, chili, peanuts and etc.

orders:
kindly bare with me cause i am mentioning about the dish n not the names.

mocktails:
summer cooler: tender coconut with mint n lemon. it was served beautifully. in a perfectly intact- shaved tender coconut shell.

lychee mojito: refreshing and super yum! better than the summer cooler. loved it.

starter: a beef preparation. crispy fried beef which was seasoned perfectly n served hot.

main: not sure whether it was pahd thai or khao pad- thericewas spicy and was plated on a bowl of omelette. we can have our choice of meat- chicken/ seafood/ beef. quantity was easily enough for 2 ppl.

desserts:
chocolate mousse: a no fuss classic. tasted amazing.

fried ice cream: a not so good preparation. i have had better ones. it was too sweet and the coconut shavings tasted weird.

bill: 2000/-++ definitely pricey! can visit if you're an absolute lover of thai.

i love this place. the quaint interiors, large, shareable portions and prompt service keep bringing me back. centrally located, benjarong is my go-to spot for thai food in the city.  i would suggest asking the staff to recommend house favorites. i particularly like the corn balls inricetartlets. skip the not-so-great desserts and gorge away on the starters and main course. the aromatic digestive tea made me even hungrier. but my favorite thing about benjarong has to be the fact that they let me order a plate of sushi from teppan upstairs. can't get better than this! all in all, a fabulous place for pan-asian cuisine.

sum rap thai! this place is undoubtedly the best, serving thai/oriental cuisines with top notch ambience, the food is jumble of flavours with four or five fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: sour, sweet, salty, bitter and spicy.not much for vegans;
the menu can be more descriptive with pictures of the food, nevertheless you can get staffs help and they are very friendly, i ordered thai style grilled fish, thai shrimp curry and khao phat friedriceand all of them were tasting great and never thought that green papaya can be used for salads that come with main course and you are served along with lemon grass tea as complement, the presentation of all food are great and you will jump on it.
i recommend this place for all the foodie who want to try some thai food however i felt it was bit costly compared to the other restaurants of same class
overall it was a good experience

ordered 2 executive mealboxes. quantity of the mealbox was perfect for 1 person. one had veg friedrice, veggies in chili basil sauce and exotic veg in cashewnuts. the other mealbox had jasmine rice, thai green curry and tofu. all the items were really well done. the packaging could have been better. the veggies in basil sauce was really good but it was difficult to get the sauce from the box.. veggies in cashewnut was okayish.. thai green curry was executed perfectly..the dessert was also very different. some sort of mousse.. would definitely want to visit sometime..

food was oily and portions for the noodles was less ... there was no flavour in the friedrice... we have dined in the restaurant earlier and food was good that’s the reason we ordered but looks like the quality is dropped below average .., definitely not a restaurant to order again

went recently for dinner.

tom khai creamy soup - ample veggies / mildly spicy - 4/5

szchewan veg friedrice- oily (even after asking for less oil + spicy) - 3/5

red curry - ample veggies - not great - not bad - 3.5/5

sanitization of tables were done but all service staff were wearing gloves.

price: definitely on the pricier side for the number of items ordered.
