"seattle is known for fresh seafood, pan-asian and northwest fare, stunning water, city views and friendly neighborhood hospitality." - nwsource.com i've eaten almost seafood everyday during my visit to seattle - from sauteed manila clams and mussels at salty's to a seafood brunch at the lobster shop south. it was my last day in seattle, and i was strolling through sea-tac airport. i came across a seafood spot called "anthony'srestaurant ." the menu featured fish tacos, salad with shrimp and fish n' chips. there were three types of fish 'n' chips - salmon, cod, and halibut - reasonably priced - from $6.99 to $9.99. i never had fried salmon, so i went for that. amazing! i was served 3 pieces of salmon fried in tempura batter resting on a bed of chips. the tempura batter was excellent - not too "doughy" not too oily. makes me want to try frying salmon at home. posted by denise at 11:56 email this

for an airport restaurant,anthony'sdoes a great job. we had the salmon tacos and the halibut tacos. on both the fish had a nice fresh taste and was the star of the taco. we asked for both to be without the blackened seasoning and voila, just as we asked and very tasty.

it's in an airport, so expectations aren't high. you figure ifanthony'sis going to put their name on it, it should be good, right? wrong! overwhelmed on a normal weeknight, the staff was working hard. the clam chowder arrived and i think the cream broke, there were little white dots in it and is had a slightly sour taste...fine wa wine was served at $11+ per glass, in a highball glass because the wine glasses were dirty. the fish tacos are bland, and the corn tortillas i asked for were dried out and crumbly...a terrible experience i won't repeat.

greasy fish and chips at seatac airport. the french fries were ok but the fish was so greasy and disgusting that we sent it back to the kitchen. the replacement porion was almost as bad so we gave up and had to remove the greasy coating and wipe the fish off with a napkin. since we had reviously enjoyed the seafood at otheranthony'slocations, i asked whether the airport location was managed by anthonys or a franchisee. as i suspected, the airport location is operated bh hmshost.

now this is airport food!. as the table next to me was leaving one said "that's the best airport food i've ever had!" i agreed as soon as mine was done. it started out with slow service and i saw two other tables anxious for their bill, but i had at least an hour to kill. the chowder bread bowl and caesar salad was the perfect simple ending to a long day. there was the usual great variety i know to expect fromanthony'sbut i didn't indulge this time. the chowder tasted freshmade, not reconstituted like you find at an ivar's walk-up bar. the restaurant is bigger than it looks from the entry. a seat along the glass wall at the back is quiet and unique, i haven't seen this in other airport restaurants. highly recommended!

bad mahi mahi. i recently ordered a mahi mahi taco at the sea tac anthony's. my family lovesanthony'sand i never expect anything but the best seafood from this restaurant. i was wrong this time. the mahi mahi taco had a very strong odor. i took one bite and threw the whole thing in the trash. very unpleasant and disappointing experience.

hostile hostess.anthony'sat sea tac is typically one of my favorite places to eat but today the hostess was so rude to the couple in front of me and so extremely unfriendly to me i chose to eat elsewhere. restaurants really need to think about who they have making first impressions with their customers. their food is excellent but i have little patience for poor service.

not good compared to ivar's which is about 50 m away. if i were you i'd just hop over to ivar's. when i was at the airport, i was puzzled by these two competing fish bars so i actually went to both and ordered the same thing. ivar's is much better with the clam chowder and the fish actually tasted better. the batter at ivar's is not the same asanthony'sbut it is still better.anthony'sbatter is the kind where it separates from the fish very easily and you can just eat the batter and the fish separately whereas ivar's batter is more attached to the fish and is more rough in nature. this is still not a bad place considering seattle has some awesome fish and chips compared to where i'm from, but i'd just go to ivar's if you don't mind the fast food experience. theanthony'si went to was also the take-out section so i'm comparing like-to-like.

have been going toanthony'sfor years sea-tac is the worst!!! slow i meen slow and cold food not worth the money should have went to wendys.

customer and frequent traveler. i have eaten atanthony'sfor over 30 years. i was recently very disturbed that 3 very small pieces of fish and chips constituted a $20.00 price tag. the lettuce was also wilted in my cold slaw and the management told me that the restaurant service manager was unavailable (it was 3:30 p.m.) and that "nobody on site was responsible for portioning". in addition, i was told that there was no customer satisfaction card available to submit comments.
frankly, i expect more from a meal of this price.

fresh and fast. i fly through seatac regularly, and always try to leave 30 minutes for the fish tacos atanthony's. fresh, light and delicious. that said, i really don't like the chowder - very heavy flour thickened sauce and tasteless rubbery fish. it's amazing these come from the same kitchen.
good selection of beers and, with the exception of one recent visit, service is quick and efficient - just what you need before your next flight.

anthony's restaurant. i've flown out of sea-tac many times, and eat atanthony'swhenever i can. i love to sit at the bar, their fish and chips are very good, well presented and the service has always been good. not your typical airport food, at all.

while getting ready to order at one of the seatac pubs the waiter (for some unknown reason) mentioned thatanthony'shas the best food in the airport. i thanked him and came to anthony's. he is correct. great menu, decent wine list,good price for an airport. try the alaska cod stuffed with crab, shrimp and artichoke-very nicely done. o will come back every time i fly through here.

what's happened. i've been a frequent diner atanthony'sseatac since it opened and once sought out the manager to tell him what a great job his team was doing. my latest visit was for dinner, november 18. i ordered one of my favorites "tempura shrimp". after an exceptionally long wait i got back heavily battered, deep fried shrimp and onion rings of a quality that you might encounter at a small town drive-in. please hire a new manager and kitchen superintendent and bring back quality preparations.

the only real option at sea-tac. i only eat dinner atanthony'swhen i'm flying out of seattle. the fish tacos, the chowder and the calamari are all favorites; most of the other fresh fish specials are safe too (although i avoid the tuna). i usually just sit at the bar -- i never have to wait, the full menu is available and the pours are never short.
