agashiye - the house of mg

this is probably one of the best thalis i have ever had. they have found the right balance of making the food flavourful and taste homely.servicewas top-notch and portion sizes were really good as well. one piece of advice - skip a meal before this one and you’ll truly be able to enjoy the meal.

tiffin received with missing items rice container. worstservicein city. i am received parcel after 3 hours and with missing foods . close this restaurant and do not making us fool.

some of food items are missing. i have placed order at 11:30 am and received order at 1:45 pm. i tried calling at agashiye restaurant but they are so rude that they not even bother to receive call or talk to their customer. so, i told my delivery guy to talk to them but they didn't give any answer to them as well. not expected this kind ofservicefrom agashiye.

hi, i am sitting right here at agashiye, theservicewas rather poor today with everything that i ordered coming very slow. i was very patient by all means.. the food was not the issue.
suddenly its time for dessert and while clearing the dishes, the person who was collecting dishes was passing behind me hit the tray he was collecting on my head. the wooden trays have a pointed edge.. all the waiter or the manager did was say "sorry" and moved on back to their work. i had a legitimate amount of respect for agashiye, but after today.. i would not recommend it as they staff does not have basic levels of courtesy.

i visited the restaurant sometime back and it's worth visiting once. theservicethe food was completely awesome. although it's not worth money

how has this place become ahmedabad’s premiere food spot? it was lousy. for the price of 4 gujarati thalis elsewhere, they serve you half the varieties. out of which, half the things are dumped on the table for you to help yourselves. the area where we sat was set up like an outdoor wedding tent in a party plot. the wait staff was infuriatingly slow and condescending; one manager actually said “theserviceis slow so you can savour the food,” when nothing had been served yet! he asked to savour the salad! the taste is painfully mediocre. the utensils are blackened and dirty. what an absolutely waste of money and a mealtime.

agashiye is a fine dining gujarati thali restaurant. the restaurant is located in the heritage property of house of mg. the ambiance is amazing especially the terrace dining. i was here for dinner last weekend with family and had a good experience. coming to the food, they serve only two types of thalis, kansa (bronze) & silver thali - both of them priced steeply at ₹1195 & ₹1695 respectively.

theserviceis as courteous as it can get and quick. if you are expecting lots of bowls in the plate, i'm afraid you won't see that. i had muthia & patra along with kadhi and dal. one of the best muthias i've had. the welcome drinks were pretty good and so was the chaas. curries include val, chole & karela and all were pretty good on taste. on the desserts front, had rajwadi boondi, mug dal halwa, koprapak and mishti doi. all were pretty good.
thali with a very balanced taste.

all in all the restaurant is pretty good and gives you a great dining experience. however, having eaten at so many places, i felt the pricing is definitely on the higher side considering just the gujarati thali.
however one visit is a must to experience the gujarati hospitality.

my sister suggested me this place and i went there without even looking it up or any expectations. and when i reached there, boy i was bowled over!

agashiye is situated in house of mg, which has a stay option for guests (starting at 4k per night) ahmedabad trunk - selling high end textiles and antiques and a high end fine dine gujarati thali restaurant agashiye, which means on the terrace.

the ambience is just awesome and breath taking.

they have two variants of the thali, kansa (less variety @ 1400 ₹ approx) and silver (more items @ 2000₹ approx)

i chose the less variety one and that too was too much for me.

welcome drink, salad, chhat, papd, achaar, chutneys, fasaan, sabji (3 varieties), dal, kadhi, coconut halwa, basundi, roti, paratha, rice and chaas and paan to end it all!

it's worth it if you have a huge appetite. 😝

coming from baroda had heard alot about this place from ahmedabad friends. 
billing section : 1st of all 1200 rs thali you are providing in so called heritage hotel , had to pay the bill before then i am being allowed to go up for food. it felt as if a person will run away without paying such a big amount... also they addedservicecharge and donation of rs 10 in the bill and they they ask if we want to pay or not.  

ambiance : had gone in afternoon nothing special about ambiance a big hall where 10 table are kept with not common  looking chairs. 

food : frankly speaking food is not at all worth 1200 and they dont provide any extraordinary items also . they provided amras and dudhi halwa as sweet. guys come to baroda or surat will show you what actual thali provides . in desert we where provided icecream which almost looked like a milk shake with more liquid form than solid icecream and last was given a pan with 50 paise dhana dal inside it. 

overall very very bad experience. not worth even 200 rs . would not recommend it ever again. waste of time and money

2nd floor restaurant inside heritage the house of mg hotel .. speciality’s are brass thali or silver thali.. overall very good ambiance &servicewith homely staff..

the place is located on second floor (rooftop) and has an amazing ambience. theserviceis prompt and the servers fastly bring you food. the only problem was when i asked for onions and had to ask atleast 5-6 times before they brought that. apart from that food was amazing, bhakri, methi paratha was amazing, basundi was my favourite from the thali. sabudna vada was great, methi dhokla. other parts of the thali were palak paneer, aloo sabzi, kadhi, daal, gatta, salad, papad, paan, icecream, chaach and pudina sharbat.
