one of the best experiences you will have in ahmedabad, this was my first visit to ahmedabad and tried authentic gujrati food for the first time and i must say it could not have been any better
the restaurant is situated in house of mg. the ambience is just perfect, the rooftop is beautiful and every corner of the place looks amazing.
coming to the food, they only serve two types of thali’s, i tried the regular thali and it was really good, but the best thing about the place is the service of the staff.

a must visit place :)

good property, ambiance. dal, sweets and one starter was nice. ice cream was excellent.
test for all other like starters, vegetables are not that good.
they serve many items in plate and all get mixed up. should improve in this at least by having more "katori" in plate.
also please verify your bill. there will be 18% gst and 5% service charges. if you argue, it can reduce 5%.

overall not value for money. by this cost complete family can eat in nice restaurant.

mind blowing is less adjective when describing agashiye. the moment you step in the restaurant you feel like a royalty. the interiors are breath taking. you can choose from regular or deluxe thaali and once in the restaurant you get yummy food in front of you. we were served with papad, dal moong ki wade, carrot salad with guava juice. next we were served with basundi, aloo sabzi, beans with capsicum, mix veg sabzi, roti, chilaa, different achaars, chaas, two different dals, gajar ka halwa, khichdi and dal chawal. dessert was anjeer ice cream with paan. in short a beautiful combination in your tummy.

must try!!!

visiting this place was in our list since long.  i finally had the chance to do so for dinner on kite festival and experience was average.
food quality was defiantly awesome but still it falls only little bit higher then other gujarati thali restaurants in ahmedabad like goverdhanthal or vishala or rajwadu.  combinations are also limited (almost half) compare to others. and no extra activities if compared against vishala or rajwadu like restaurants.

its not just expensive but way over priced on name of heritage tag.  we took delux thali (1550 rs. per thali ) thinking it will give some outstanding experience and something special, but it was nothing special compare to regular one.  for 2 persons total bill was 3851 rs. with breakup of 3100 rs (1550 rs for each delux thali) + 18% gst  ( 558 rs) + service charge (155 rs) + donation. 3851 rs for 2 persons with such small combinations options in thali is not justifiable even if its good quality.

service was average. slow and you need to request if you need something. we had 2 year old baby, they didnt even cared to provide baby chair until we requested. despite half of restaurant empty we were forced into waiting for 30 min.  table area was very small. they crunch everything in very small tables.

for donation, its good to have such charity but here its like marketing trap. they will first generate bill included with it, then will tell you that its included in your bill and will request if you want to remove it. for 10-20 rs. most of people will ignore considering they are already spending huge amount on bill. but this kind of small things in end leaves bad impression.

heritage tag - have visited lots of places in rajasthan and other states who does give similar food and much high quality of service and better amenities.  some of them actually give royal experience at hald price. in ahemdabad also compare to them vishala or rajwadu like restaurants gives much richer experience.

giving 3.0 only due to good food quality.

any trip to ahmedabad is incomplete without a hearty meal at the wonderful agashiye. their thali is yummy! and from the first time i tried it in 2007, to now, when i had it in 2018, the consistency in its quality is commendable.

their service, as always, remains impeccable. the spread is lavish & incorporates seasonal ingredients. we had undhiyon & ponkh dhokla as part of the seasonal offering.

must visit if you're in ahmedabad.

i make sure i visit this place every time i go to ahmedabad. the setting is wonderful, right in front of the beautiful siddi sayyed mosque which is lit up at night. this property is also a treat to the eyes and you feel like taking photographs of every single frame you see. the terrace restaurant is perfect in winter evenings, with a small fire lit to keep guests warm. the food was also very good. i absolutely loved the shrikhand they served. the dal and sabji was a bit too sweet for my taste. the service was a bit slow and needs to be improved. we spent around rs 2500 for two thalis and if you keep the ambience in mind, it was worth it.

i had been thinking about visiting this place for a long long time. i finally had the chance to do so for lunch and i was very disappointed.

this place was supposed to set the benchmark for gujarati food based on all the reviews and ratings, but the food was very average. i was disappointed both by the breadth and depth in the dishes. i have had better food at lower than half the price at places like toran dining hall, govrardhan thal in ahmedabad, and shree thaker bhojnalaya in mumbai (best food i ever had).

i get the heritage tag attached to the place and the prime location opposite siddi sayaad ni jaadi but i strongly believe that even after considering all the factors, the price is not justified at all.

the only saving graces in the thali were rabri and chaas.
and as far as the service is concerned, i have seen warmer and better hospitality at aforementioned restaurants.

so in conclusion, there are better places to try authentic, better gujarati food without burning a hole in your pocket and i don't seem to fathom why this place seem to have such a high rating and favourable reviews.

one thing that i associate myself is with fine dining. thay means ambience and food must be perfect. this place ticks both those in all aspects the massive mansion when you enter it self names you realise that this will be one of those special meals the service is of international standards. they didn't charge for my kids and still.made sure they were taken care of.
the food is authentic and subtle. and that is make you going to over eat. leave space for the home made ice cream.

yesterday, i had visited agashiye and it has been mix experience. yes, place has its own enigma however service and food is not up to mark/expectation. you find service is bit confused. one time when we are talking and enjoying family chit chat than suddenly disturbed by staff which is really irrelevant. this was highly inappropriate, unappreciated and unprofessional, i am surprised by it for agashiye standard. i had seen delay for drinking water delivery, washing hand before start dinner or laughing on troubles for customer. for me, this is place for white skin people only or pm. this is good place for visit however food is just like average gujarati home made food. nothing wow factor or x factor. ambiance and surrounding is good but avoid walk-in. advance booking would do more magic. this can enhance your service for tip. don't pay service tax 5% as 99% chances that you wont like service or food. 3.5 only for ambiance.

went there last week for the famous lunch. had the regular lunch, priced at ₹ 1098 plus taxes. in addition, they include a ₹10 voluntary donation in the bill. people tend to pay up. the entrance, decor and ambience are just superb. the massive wind chime is an added attraction. you also get a nice view of the city. food was really good. the liludi kachori was awesome. collection of pickles was the highlight for me, as i have a huge weakness for pickles. the subzis were great, so were dal and rice. tindora was perfectly cooked and extra tasty. buttermilk was nice, thick and tasty. however, i felt it was a bit too expensive. a good experience though!!

ordered thali from here. and cutting to the chase, this place is fine dining, this place gives authentic gujrati food, and like many other local cuisines this is just basic staple food, gujrati style. oh and did i mention this is a fine dining place? so essentially you will be paying for. the.experience. and that is agashiye for you.

i never imagined in my life that being a gujarati myself will ever pay >1000/- bucks for my staple food.
i realized that food is not what i paid for it’s the ambience, history and heritage.
enroute the food was deliciously appetizing. awesome spread and varieties kept on flowing one after the other.
this was an amazing experience to drive down thru the narrow lanes of ahemdabad to reach to this beautifully maintained structure and also loved the service.
i consider ahemdabad to be the mecca of vegetarian food.
