absolutely love it. i am completely in love with their lemon souflee pancakes. just the right amount of sweetness, plenty of awesome lemon flavor perfect fluffy pancakes... i could eat these every day. on the few occasions i have been able to talk myself into trying something new, it has always been amazing as well. their potatocasserolestuff is divine, their tomato basil soup and the grilled cheeses are to die for... the service has always been excellent. i highly recommend toast on market.

my favorite place to go for breakfast with my work friends. they know me by name at this point. wait staff is wonderful and the food is great. they have the best harissa sauce for the eggs and toast. and their hash browncasseroleis to die for!

the hash browncasseroleand red velvet pancakes are to die for. the food is always good, but of course with finer dining you can expect small portions.

my first visit. ok so, i visited this place with a few friends of mine. it was a recommendation from a co-worker of mine. he claimed they had the best pancakes in town. he was wrong. i had better from a much lesser expensive place closer to my residence, burger boy, (and it's open 24/7 which beats the 7-8 hours this place is open.) the hash browncasserolewas not impressive. i've gotten cheaper better hash browns at waffle house(and they didn't charge almost a dollar per add in topping!!). it was an ok visit, nothing super special there.

pretty good breakfast. they serve a delicious basil peach tea and a fantastic cheesy hash browncasserole(choose this for your breakfast side). service was very efficient. don't think i'd bear the crowd on a weekend, but would return on a weekday afternoon.

and the food was…good. i wasn’t blown away, but i was certainly satisfied. the pancakes were yummy but smothered in obviously fake syrup (gross) the bacon was a teense overdone, and the toast was just…toast. i really expected a restaurant named “toast” to have like super magically fabulous toast. the hash browncasseroletasted like the casseroles the old ladies in my dad’s baptist church used to make, which is a high compliment since nobody doescasserolelike an old baptist lady. the grilled cheese was amazing, but honestly, it’s hard to do grilled cheese wrong.

nice breakfast experience. the agenda as we departed louisville included a mid-morning breakfast at toast, a stop which was a highlight of the day. i was torn between the monte cristo and the south of the border omelette, and ended up following the lure of chorizo offered by the latter. a side of hash browncasseroleand a cup of coffee added to my order and i was ready to go.

my companion ordered two eggs over medium, which came with cut fruit as a side. toast's spot-on delivery of over medium eggs as advertised won a couple nods of approval. what it is about that netherworld between over easy and over hard that baffles some kitchen staffs seemed to be child's play for toast.

the coffee wasn't the greatest ever tasted, but good enough for me to have three cups, delivered from an attentive wait staff.

we enjoyed the experience and recommend it for others.

it's just ok. we have been here at least four times and every time it's been really, really slow. good grief, it's just breakfast! we have ordered hot chocolate drinks with caramel twice and both times they were really watery. not good at all--i'm thinking a swiss miss packet with caramel sauce thrown in and wayyyy too much water! no thanks, not worth the 6 or 8 bucks either.
the breakfast is ok. the potatocasseroleis really good, but it takes so freaking long to get to you that you are ravenous by the time it comes out. i would not recommend this place because i don't think that the value is there or the prices justify mediocrity. i know people rave on and on about this place, but i'm not going back.

the place to go for breakfast.. i love the staff here, always on top of it, very professional experienced wait staff--not like some of the bored kids you run into at certain other establishments . . .ahem.

but, the food is awesome too, of course, waffles with berries, lemon pancakes, mediterranean omelette . . . the hash browncasseroleis delicious.

the place just has a great vibe, great food, cool people--good people watching . . . . nice place to take out of town company.

sublime breakfast. had heard good things about toast on market, so we decided to drive down a few weeks ago on a dreary saturday afternoon. east market street is kind of dreary even on a sunny day, with all the boarded up storefronts, but we did find toast on main in a little island of commerce, so i hope this is the beginning of a revival on that end of market.

we got there about 2 pm - they close at 3 - and though they were busy, we we promptly seated. i ordered the bread pudding pancakes with a side of hashbrowncasserole($2.50) and my wife ordered the beefcake pancakes and a cup of coffee. pictures of both can be found above.

my pancakes were light and fluffy with a slightly custardy center and topped with an irish cream sauce and rum-raisin syrup that still had a slightly sweet alcoholic tang from the rum. the hashbrowncasserolewas very tasty and this may have been one of the best pancake breakfasts i have ever had.

my wife's beefcake pancakes was a generous pile pot roast and gravy over buttermilk pancakes and i know it sounds downright disgusting, but she let me finish the last few bites that she didn't have room for and it was a savory delight. it also came with sour cream and chive potato cakes, which were nice and crisp on the outside and delicately creamy on the inside with a very rich flavor, well suited to the pot roast. the only downside to her breakfast was the coffee, which she said was absolute swill.

the service was also excellent and we both heartily recommend them. now we have to go back and try the stuff on the lunch menu.
