good vibe, good food and good waiters. even if it's not easy to find aplacewithout booking (unless you are ok with seating at the bar counter) i do like this restaurant. the food on the board changes often . it's a mix of different countries, french, italian , south african, american. all tasty and well presented.

been to black sheep several times and theplacenever disappoints. there is something on the menu for everyone from vegetarians to carnivores and each meal is sure to be top quality and tasty. the staff are really helpful and price good value for money.

nice friendly and social. in keeping with the kloof street vibe. took a while to get into this busyblittleplacebut the food make the wait worthwhile. now i know why my friends keep going. service was good too.

my absolute favourite restaurant in cape town - never disappoints!
booking well in advance is essential - thisplaceis popular for good reason.
the dishes are fresh, tasty and indulgent without being that usual cape town thing of being too finicky or pretentious. the menu is a novel take on international standards and expresses creativity in the superbly matched flavours in each dish. the desserts are a warm and seductive treat not to be missed!

had a last minute booking for a thursday night dinner.placeis busy and service was good. i had the lentil coconut curry. the dish was okay. limited whiskey and wine menu. overall a good experience but nothing to be blown away by in terms of the food. will have to be convinced to come back.

absolute favplaceto pop in for that secluded delicious glass of red... gets a great vibe!! epic staff!! richard and his small touches of amazing attention to detail!! pure power from this establishment every time! 🙌🏻😊

this is our favoriteplacein cape town. great staff, great food, wonderful, warm, bustling ambience. they are always packed so we generally eat at the bar or at a large window that looks out onto devils peak. even so the staff go out of their way to make you comfortable. they also have a great upstairs lounge for drinks which is cosy in the winter. love love love this spot!

fantastic atmosphere and mouthwateringly amazing food. the space is small but you don't feel as though you are sharing your plate with the guy sitting next to your table. the waters are friendly and very attentive. highly recommended and definitely aplaceto return to!

i had the pleasure of eating lunch here last week. having eaten at this restaurant a number of times, i know what to expect, but the fact that it never fails to excite makes it a needle in a haystack of overpriced city bowl mediocrity. 

the venue is stylish yet comfortable, the service is friendly and not "in your face", the beer and wine selections are eclectic and thoughtful, and the food is simply jawdroppingly good. we had the hanger steak and thick cut fries (my vote for best steak in cape town) and the sheep burger, which was absolutely amazing. 

theplacecan get very busy, so i would imagine booking is a must, but it really is one of the nicest places in cape town for an informal and relaxedplaceto eat some unbelievable food.

fork and kitima are some of my favourite restaurants in cape town. black sheep now finds itself on that list.

i was absolutely brilliant. great service, comfortable environment and fantastic food. beautifully presented with massively clean flavours. i couldn't be happier. the portion size allows you to try a number of meals without feeling like you won't finish. 

this is theplacefor a special night or just a casual dinner out with friends. it was worth the effort to get a table.

this restaurant is always busy and rightfully so - you should totally eat there too if you love good food, great ambience and service. the waiters are knowledgeable about the menu offerings and friendly. i found theplacea bit loud for my liking, but also because whenever i go there, it's for a chilled, casual dinner after work, so not really in the mood to necessarily socialize. great for a birthday dinner or occasion where you want to have a merry meal :) the chicken liver parfait is exactly what it is "parfait" (perfect in french). i also love the gazpacho and so much more on their menu. i also love the decor, modern, trendy and sophisticated.

black sheep restaurant is definitely 1 of my favourite spots in cape town. everything about it just works. i've been here a few times before and i'm still as equally impressed as the 1st time i came here. if you're going here for dinner, make a reservation 3-4 days in advance though because it gets booked out all the time. i went with some mates and we all loved our dishes - starters, entrée's &desserts. such an original menu consisting of dishes like lamb kidneys, rabbit, tongue, kudu, and many more exciting and eccentric stuff. all heavenly! the service was very good with the waitress being very knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. the ambience is spectacular. cosy and wondwrfully decorated. just an overall perfectplacefor dinner.

i highly recommend thisplaceto any 1 who has not tried it.

in awe of the food and service here. instead of ordering a main course, i had two starters (beef and mushroom ravioli and tomato pesto salad). thisplaceis simply delicious!
