loved our meal here- polenta, asian beef salad- fab service, great vibe. you have to book ahead as it's popular. i think they could up their selection of wine by the glass but other than that, so enjoyable. will be back soon!

i enjoyed the fantastic selection of food. i had the asian beef salad and it was delish. my neighbours had the ribeye for two, there food looked scrumptious and the presentation met the expectation just like mine did. staff is friendly and knowledgeable. off course the views of table mointain, completes the total top notch experience! do book, as it gets filled up!

fork and kitima are some of my favourite restaurants in cape town. black sheep now finds itself on that list.

i was absolutely brilliant. great service, comfortable environment and fantastic food. beautifully presented with massively clean flavours. i couldn't be happier. the portion size allows you to try a number of meals without feeling like you won't finish. 

this is the place for a special night or just a casual dinner out with friends. it was worth the effort to get a table.

i ate here with a large group recently, the set 3 course menu was the biggest treat, each of us got to share and sample 3 different starters, 4 mains and a dessert. wonderful, inventive menu. i was in love with my food. i would really recommend this option for large groups. what a delicious experience.

we enjoyed our visit. the restaurant is set up to encourage a sociable atmosphere, and i like the idea of the menu written on the chalkboard - it's always a sign that a restaurant takes seasonality seriously, however, i haven't been back since spring started to test that theory in this case! we tried 4 dishes, all of which hit the spot.

i really enjoy seeing menu's that are creative, seasonal and unexpected - at the black sheep you are guaranteed to have to read the menu a few times to decide which meal to order! there are too many drool-worthy options... i chose the pork belly - fragrant, melt in the mouth and earned the food envy of others at the table! i was with a vegetarian who loved the fact that there were multiple interesting veg options on the menu.

good food , good ambience , service was excellent . had the pork belly and perhaps the wrong choice as portion a bit small . all round lovely restuarant and we will be back !!

had a great time at the black sheep, had heard rave reviews and it lived up to them quite nicely. gave a low score only cause we had to wait a little bit for our table despite reservation and waited quite some time for the main for a table of 5. otherwise great service, okay food. pork belly's good, but served asian style with hoisin spice (not my personal taste) and chunky veggies that did nothing for the dish, but my brownie dessert made up for it! worth noting it was quite busy - friday night, but definitely worth a visit!

ten out of ten for ambiance, decor, service and the most amazing food to top it all off. it was an all round memorable experience. highly recommended.

my favorite experiences twice in a row now. wonderful menu with carefully curated wines to pair with - make sure to ask the manager for his recommendation and you can count on wonderful stories about the creation of the menu and restaurant. the atmosphere is predictably casual yet excellent - nothing dates distract you from the wonderful culinary options. this one's a cape town must!

a most delightful experience last night - an amuse bouche to start, one guest was gluten intolerant so an alternative was supplied with a flourish and a smile by the owner. the meal was excellent - 4 guests, four starters, four mains ,two puddings (with 4 spoons!) and perfection on every plate. one to go back to on our next trip to cape town.

this restaurant is always busy and rightfully so - you should totally eat there too if you love good food, great ambience and service. the waiters are knowledgeable about the menu offerings and friendly. i found the place a bit loud for my liking, but also because whenever i go there, it's for a chilled, casual dinner after work, so not really in the mood to necessarily socialize. great for a birthday dinner or occasion where you want to have a merry meal :) the chicken liver parfait is exactly what it is "parfait" (perfect in french). i also love the gazpacho and so much more on their menu. i also love the decor, modern, trendy and sophisticated.

black sheep restaurant is definitely 1 of my favourite spots in cape town. everything about it just works. i've been here a few times before and i'm still as equally impressed as the 1st time i came here. if you're going here for dinner, make a reservation 3-4 days in advance though because it gets booked out all the time. i went with some mates and we all loved our dishes - starters, entrée's &desserts. such an original menu consisting of dishes like lamb kidneys, rabbit, tongue, kudu, and many more exciting and eccentric stuff. all heavenly! the service was very good with the waitress being very knowledgeable about the food and wine menus. the ambience is spectacular. cosy and wondwrfully decorated. just an overall perfect place for dinner.

i highly recommend this place to any 1 who has not tried it.

black sheep is one of my favourite restaurants! the vegetarian meals are great and the meat dishes are delicious too! no matter what you feel like, you won't be disappointed! just remember to book if you want to go for dinner, it's always busy and hard to get a table without a booking :)
