every time we come to kitchener we always come to this restaurant as they are the most consistent for service, presentation, quality and reasonable prices!!!
today we had breakfast /brunch and it was all great. best of all they havegreatcoffee.
a must if u r in the area!!

i love this place! we come here all the time. catherine is an amazing server, although everyone here is nice, catherine always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. while i've had a few undercooked meals, management has always dealt with any issues beyond what i would expect. i love the new menu, especially the kale caesar salad and the french onion fondue. he one thing i really miss is the chicken dumplings, they were incredible. everyone at bauer paysgreatattention to detail and it is always agreattime.

david and family. the bauer kitchen was our choice for our daughter's graduation dinner. all 14 members of our family and friends had agreattime and everyone rated the food and service 5 stars. we have hosted several events at the bauer and have always had a wonderful time. staff are very trendy and in touch with with the customers! cool and relaxed. thank you for making this event a memorable experience! you can never go wrong with a csh group restaurant. thank you tim and crew!

went as part of a bachelorette party - excellent service, especially for a large group. food wasgreat- a little more expensive than what i would typically spend on a meal out, but a nice splurge for a special occasion. beautifully decorated, i will definitely be back next time i'm in waterloo!

great place to have a peaceful meal,greatfood is just a bonus.. went there on a monday by myself around 6:30pm. the place was one third full. the dinning room was tastefully decor with the original old factory left over parts. the building was an old factory before converting to an office building, shopping area. the tables and chairs are very comfortable. how comfortable, clean and interesting the place is almost as important as the food to me. service wasgreattoo.

had their daily soup, it was steaming hot when it was put in front of me. a very nice touch. the bread were warm. duck confit next, veggie and potato were just right. the duck was excellent. as good as the first two courses, the dessert was the one i remember the most.

it was the chocolate nemesis. chocolate after chocolate and more chocolate. it comes with a small cup of spicy chocolate sauce. it was just spicy enough to tickle the throat but not enough to burn. be aware i am a person who can eat half a dozen of suicide chicken wings and not break a sweat. use that as a guideline.

all three courses came out fast enough but not too fast. i have managed to read a few pages of my book in between courses and enjoyed myself within the hour and a little bit while i was there. a place i will certainly go back.

after three months of dinner every once a week at tbk, i like it even more.

my husband and i (early 30s) were there saturday night and we thoroughly enjoyed everything!
we started with the mussels & a fantastic bottle of wine. my husband had the bacon wrapped tenderloin & i had the daily feature which was lamb shank w/ mashed potatoes. the vegetables were crisp (which is exactly how i like them) and the lamb was very flavorful. i had a piece of my husbands steak & while it was a little undercooked to how he likes it, it was still very tasty. we shared the dessert plate (3 dessert samples) and each was very good. the service was phenomenal, our waiter was very attentive, but not bothersome. the ambience wasgreatas well, although a little on the loud side for my taste. and of course i have to mention the price. i thought it was extremely reasonable. our bill was $240 before tip (which includes everything i mentioned above, plus a pint of mill st & a hammerhead triple espresso), and our wine was close to half of that.
as an added touch, charcoal group offers a service to order flowers for your table when you make your reservations online. i was pleasantly surprised to find a vase of flowers waiting for me when we arrived :)

good ambience; lacklustre food. i've eaten at the bauer kitchen a few times for work functions and have been disappointed every time. dishes that soundgreaton the menu come out bland and unimaginative on the plate. the last time i was there i had a pork & gnocchi dish and it was almost flavourless. how you make pork that bland i'm not sure. the place has a nice warm atmosphere but that's where it ends. i'd never go there if i was picking up the cheque.

anniversary dinner.greatfood and service as always. i love that menu changes frequently, sunday brunch is still my favourite.greatatmosphere all around. i will continue to visit this fine establishment!

my favourite charcoal group restaurant. i went here on a friday night, and it wasn't very busy. i got to try two appetizers and an entree. the bread was very fresh and tasty, made in the bakery right next door. the sausage gravy poutine was awesome- the best poutine i've had in town. my entree was the pork chop, which was incredibly juicy and flavorful. the pulled pork mashed potato side was best part, though, and the waitress told us that you can just order that as an appetizer if you ask. finally, for dessert, we had a chocolate mousse cake that was agreatfinish to the meal.

we had quick and polite service. the waitress didn't treat us poorly for just ordering water to drink- in fact, she brought us a pitcher and we didn't even have to ask! most restaurants refuse to do this at all.

overall, it had awesome food and the staff were very nice. i'll definitely return sometime.

four of us went for brunch on my mum's birthday and we had the most delicious breakfast i've had in recent years. lots of fruit, freshly squeezed juice,greatportions for a decent price, wonderful service, and an awesome birthday surprise. they really made my mom's birthday special and that meant the world to me.

great wings - atmosphere. i love this place. the atmosphere isgreatand i have gone at least 7-8 times and never had sub par service. would recommend it for any occasion really.
