the bauer kitchen

i went with friends and was trying to be budget conscious, which wasn't easy. not saying the food wouldn't be worth the higher prices, but it was harder to enjoy knowing i was looking at the bottom half of the price menu. ambience and service was good. i'd recommend this place to people who enjoy a classier pub environment and extra pocket money. went with the bauer burger, was good, though the sweet potato fries stole the show.

the plating was nice but the food was just ok. the salmon was cooked well but the pasta wasn’t extraordinary. one of the nicest place around and the place is cozy, good for dinner and hangouts.

every time we come to kitchener we always come to this restaurant as they are the most consistent for service, presentation, quality and reasonable prices!!!
today we had breakfast /brunch and it was all great. best of all they have great coffee.
a must if u r in the area!!

went for my brothers birthday and it was amazing!
the rosemary fries are to die for. and the burgers are simply delilah. go for lunch for sure!

i love this place! we come here all the time. catherine is an amazing server, although everyone here is nice, catherine always goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. while i've had a few undercooked meals, management has always dealt with any issues beyond what i would expect. i love the new menu, especially the kale caesar salad and the french onion fondue. he one thing i really miss is the chicken dumplings, they were incredible. everyone at bauer pays great attention to detail and it is always a great time.

bauer kitchen. my daughter and i went for dinner on wednesday night, we were seated quickly, nice window table. she had the salmon, very good, i had the pomodoro pizza , also very good. the caesar salad was soggy and too garlicky . when i go with my husband we share a bottle of wine which is the way to because a glass is ridiculously expensive! a 9oz pinot was $14.25. don't go there if you just want a drink!

david and family. the bauer kitchen was our choice for our daughter's graduation dinner. all 14 members of our family and friends had a great time and everyone rated the food and service 5 stars. we have hosted several events at the bauer and have always had a wonderful time. staff are very trendy and in touch with with the customers! cool and relaxed. thank you for making this event a memorable experience! you can never go wrong with a csh group restaurant. thank you tim and crew!

horrible service.. this review is a little late, this experience happened back in apri.. however, thought it was important to note.
i went in with a friend for brunch on a saturday around 11:30am. the restaurant wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. no waitress showed up at our table for 20 minutes, despite other tables being sat around us after we sat and getting glasses of water and receiving acknowledgment from the server. we had to stop a waitress to inquire if we could get a waitress. instead of taking our order, or grabbing a drink order, she ran off saying she would find our waitress. 5 minutes later she showed up. took only our drink order and ran away beforf we could say we could give our entire order. took another 10 minutes to get drink of tea, coffee and waters and to take our orders. food arrived quickly, however i asked for an additional item which never showed up. our waitress never bothered to ask how we were doing halfway through our meal so i couldn't even bring it to her attention. unacceptable service from a restaurant that is supposed to be "high end". i'm a waitress myself, and so i know what good service is, and bauer was exceptionally bad.
would have asked to speak to a manager, however, i didnt have time as i was on my way to work, so i sent them an email letting them know of the terrible service we received. got a reply from the manager, julie, offering me a gift card to make up for the lack of service and to provide my address. replied to her with my contact information and i have yet to receive any acknowledgment of my email or the gift card that was promised to me. if you're going to offer a solution to a serious lack of service i received, you should honestly follow through. never been so disappointed in the service in a restaurant before and i am a foodie who eats out 2-3 times a week. haven't ben back since and will never set foot in the bauer kitchen.

extremely dissapointed. if you simply care for atmosphere and aren't interested in the food, then this is your place.
dined here last saturday night with a friend that was visiting from bc.
i ordered the shortrib gnocchi and sent it back. it wasn't edible. aweful taste, no flavour and had a big glob of horseradish on it. it was terrible.
then ordered the smoked chicken penne. the chicken was processed. rubbery water injected cheap chicken. something you would expect from an east side mario's or mcdonald's. it was disgusting. i are the penne and didn't touch the chicken.
i've given this place a few try's because i do like the atmosphere. it's too bad they can't pay closer attention to their food. won't be returning again.

the bauer kitchen only serves weekend brunch, which begins at 9 am on saturdays and sundays... the brunch menu... include many lunch options, from sandwiches to pasta...given the nature of the place, the prices were very reasonable. $12.95 is only a couple of dollars more than you could expect to pay for a fully-loaded omelette anywhere, and the quality of the ingredients, urban-loft-atmosphere, and cooking certainly makes it worthwhile.

i can't say anything bad about this place. i'm going to be honest. this place is the tits! amazing food, amazing staff which are very accomodating and the atmosphere is fantastic. good job charcoal group!

first visit. went today. seated at 12:55 but no waitress came to take our order until 1:20. food was slow arriving and when it did nobody ever came by to see if everything was fine.everything about our service was slow. food was good.will i return? probably not based on service.

delicious food, awesome staff. celebrated girlfriend's birthday here in march. our waitress was so nice and brought out a complimentary slice of (really good) cake with a candle lit! it was very sweet. i had the bauer kitchen salad and it was probably the best salad i've ever had!! my girlfriend got the gnocchi which was also really good. also the decor is amazing!!! love it here.

wonderful brunch!. food was fantastic (steak and eggs were perfect!) and server jonathan was very attentive. looking forward to our next visit!
